I actually think this live room version sounds better than the fancy recording. Ed seems like that guy we grow up with...that friend who always has a guitar on hand and breaks it out late at night around a camp fire to entertain the couples. And you forget about them wondering what ever came of them. They became famous!! :)

This song reminds me of my mother, she about four years ago became addicted to meth, and i feel like this is her song, a beautiful woman falling apart slowly like a pastry. I love you mom it breaks my heart you go through horrible things all day but you're always welcome to come home when you feel like its the time

I could never change her , no matter how hard i wanted to. I have learned not to blame her, just to hate this horrible addiction and love her for who she was. A wonderful person trapped in a horrible place.

I cry every time at this song for two reasons:
1: remembering seeing him live twice (once in Birmingham and once in Wembley) and how I cried both times at how beautiful the arena/stadium looked with every single persons lights and just hearing everyone sing this song.
2: every time I realise how much I love this ginger cashew nut and how proud of him and how happy his songs make me

Comfortable in his own skin, on a huge stage alone with the band along towers off stage. Energy, great vibes. Im a new fan today at 62.

I struggled with terrible losses while dealing with addiction. In my darkest moment I was lifted up and told I was going to be a father..My son is now 6 and I thank the Angel I lost for giving me the only thing that could ease my pain at losing her...
Moments are the tears ,that catastrophic fear of many false smiles,
I loved her as she fell as she fell so unwell never had a chance to tell .♥️

So heartbreaking & beautiful. I pray for the day when all realize addiction is a disease requiring medical help with the full backing of insurance carriers. Until then sadly we will bury many beautiful angels right along with their dreams & the life they may have had & lives they would have touched. Til then, we'll shed a tear, not realizing those deaths affect every last one of us. I've seen those tears then they turn their backs & walk away whispering something like "So sad... Too young to die..." Like there was nothing that could be done & they sweep it under the rug. PLEASE get educated on addiction & mental health?! There is SO MUCH we CAN do, to save these angels & if we do that, we'll be surprised at just how much we have saved ourselves.

Im 35 and just heard this guy a few months ago. While I'm still stuck in the 90s this guy is awesome. I haven't heard good music in many years but this guy changed that for me. I never would have given this guy a chance back in the 90s. I was busy listening to pearl jam and nirvana.
