I don't think many people realised how much of a cool moment 7:40 is.
He switches to his loop mic and records lower harmony first, but forgets that it takes 4 bars to loop, so he switches to higher harmony too early. Despite that, he doesn't lose his composure and records the 2nd loop with higher harmony first, and makes it sound seamless. This speaks about his gargantuan experience performing live with the loop pedal. Idk, man maybe I'm fanboying ahahaha
He might’ve also done that on purpose to make those 4 bars more interesting to the listener while he’s constructing the loop (we hear low high high low instead of low low high high). Either way though, there’s no doubt he is supremely skilled at this, and he tends to do things slightly differently every performance which shows that he’s not just repeating the exact same rehearsed cues every time.
That is my favorite part in this song.. starting from 6:50 and on, i get the goosebumps right away. The way he sings it 😍
Sometimes I have to come back and remind myself where my love for Ed Sheeran started. It's somehow easy to forget what a musical genius he is-- he makes it all look so effortless. It doesn't quite get much better than this.

@@sidhvinshamihoke6816 Im not sure if the context is deeper than this, but back in 2012 (maybe 2011) Ed published his extended version of You Need Me. YNM being a hip-hop/pop/semi-rap song that stringed a multitude of lyrics from other songs into one solo. Ed creatively altered and interconnected the lyrics into an 10 minute solo with just him, his guitar and a loop-pedal to create vocals (beat boxing as well as singing), drums, and bass (as he does in this recording of Give Me Love). In the "The Liveroom" recording of this extension, Ed ends his 10 minute solo by saying "cool," otherwise brushing it off as if it took no skill at all.

It’s 2024 & this incredible live version gives me the SAME chills it did the first time I heard it years ago. Ed is such a different musician, you literally feel every word he sings and every note he plays. He mastery of his loop pedal puts me in awe every time. Amazing song, amazing performance.

it is so incredible to see him do this song live. The second half is absolutely incredible as he builds this on the loop peddle. Whole stadium was jumping. IF you get a chance to go to Mathematics tour I highly recommend it.
