The Republic guard is not a mistake. You can engineer a revolution to get a Republic. I sometimes revolt to Republic for faster tech research and economic growth then double revolt back to absolute monarchy around 1770 for the better elite units.
@@thatnnoob6109 Changing the ministers freely is basically irrelevant compared to bonuses you get with constitutional monarchy vs absolute monarchy. You can build entire regions full of industrial buildings with no separate public order buildings and still have public order under control with constitutional monarchy. You'll make lot less money as absolute monarchy since you have to build public order buildings to just barely keep your population happy, and even then you may have some issues. Constitutional monarchy is basically cheating as industrial buildings don't give you any negative public order, as you only have nobility and middle classes. Its lower classes that are by far the hardest to keep happy and absolute monarchy has even constant penalty toward lower class happiness... At least in republic they're bit easier to keep happy.
@@teemuvesala9575Exactly I don’t get why people like Absolute Monarchy when you make so much more money with Constitutional Monarchy. Ability to change ministers is irrelevant because the candidates usually aren’t much better than what you have anyways and like you say you have to build happiness buildings (and/or spend a lot on garrisons) to keep the lower class happy whereas under CM you can just keep building up your industry and not worry about happiness.
Tip for pronunciation: Maison Du Roi in English: "The Kings Household" Roi in French is pronounced as "WA" Roi in English means "King" "Maison du Roi" Another tip is anything in French that ends with "oi" has an "Ah" Sound. Similar sounding to "WA" but without the "W" sound. Eccosais is pronounced as "EE-KO-SEI" Royal Ecossais were former Scottish Jacobites (who do not like the current British Monarch) now working for France. I hope this was helpful for you :)

France's Artillery is amazing. It has 24lb Guard and 18lb Horse Guard that no other nation has. Super good loading and accuracy. Do not overlook these amazing units that only France has.
Can I ask for some advice please, I noticed naval battles are different on darth mod, like the range for chain shot is reduced and manoeuvrability is reduced, so is the de-masting trick still a viable tactic?
No not in the same way because of the changes to range. It will work if you demast the ships but that is huge risk in darthmod. Basically they force you into slog it out naval battles where it becomes super hard to micro your fleet. This is why a huge percent just auto resolve making what was a fun part of the game disappear
@@FaramirsRangers ahh thank you! Yea it's a shame that was probably my favourite part of the game, I guess it's more realistic but would be cool if it was optional. I was so surprised when I tried to sail against the wind and my fleet was practically stationary haha 😂
Honestly I don’t even see it as realistic because I truly doubt that even Great Britain had 50 fleets of all 1st rate ships like you see people have in darthmod lol. I would like to get a survey up to see how many people actually fight all there darthmod naval battles lol
@@FaramirsRangers oh wow! Yea that's crazy I had no idea people resorted to that... Glad to have you here. If you like darthmod you should also check out twmala he has some great campaigns. Also seth chiaro productions has great cinematic battles on his. I’m also planning on a livestream tomorrow where I will be discussing empire on UA-cam from its start in 2009 with the likes of POM and Heir of Carthage to where it is today on UA-cam. Should be good. Maybe I will have some guests on the stream too. We shall see.

You are allowed to play as republican guard all you need to do is become a republic and to do that is raise taxes for low class and then exit all troops from the country
Yeah I did the same on an old campaign. I guess I’m just used to seeing some of the other units and assumed they didn’t lose the others. I will say though if memory serves (which I just proved it usually doesn’t) that all the other European nations lose all other guards for rep guards. France at least keeps a few.
Empire total war is such a underrated game
Yes it is 😁
For real

Eh, why would you ever want to go back to absolute monarchy? Constitutional monarchy is much better and gets you the same units.
@@teemuvesala9575 probably wants the ability to change his government ministers freely. Also I know I’m late.

I actually think I will be doing a russia campaign very soon.

France also have unique Guard artilery
yes that is very true. I will be covering that in a seperate artillery video after I finish all the nations but you are so correct.
Wean I play as France I mostly busy there line they can hold wean at war. With everyone
I hear ya. I like them too
Their Line is among the best in the game.
France has at least one extra artillery, some sort of stronger horse artillery or something, its pretty good
So right it is guard artillery

Only bad thing is when they go into battle with Prussia all the French units instant rout
ATK Productions especially in world wars lol
In 1806 it was quite the opposite.

During the French Revolutionary Wars, and the Napoleonic Wars, not that much. The Prussians even suffered great defeats.
During World War I, it wasn't that easy for germans either.
France has less cavalry because they lost them all at the battle of Agincourt
right lol

Well french has the best line and elite inf reserve and the best horse artilery so their missile cavarly is weak.
