Excellent package. Great build. Awesome tune... those lines look sweet. Take yourself out for beer and a shot on that one. Who makes the front light fairing? I would like to get one on mine.
Hey Tommy another great vid. Just curious why you consider the CR485 the best bolt in cam. I get that for max horsepower applications but is that still the case for street? Cheers mate and love your work 🤘🏻
@marktindale5647 It's a very smooth cam to ride with for either Softail or Touring bikes. It's a very friendly cam for the valve train, runs quiet, provides awesome mid range torque & great top end numbers. When tuned correctly fuel consumption is hardley changed
@@MasterTechMiller yeah that’s all solid reasoning. I’m getting a 483 and supporting parts put in at end end of the month here in Perth. I’m already getting FOMO!
Beautiful work Tommy, how does the CR483 do with fuel consumption? I have a 23 LRS which I’m still running in. Stage 1 fitted and I’m getting 350-380km a tank.
@@jayzee1968 This exhaust is responsible for the low HP & TQ numbers in the low to mid section when compared to a set of Freedom 2-2 pipes. The 483 would have been a little softer off the bottom with this pipe.
@MasterTechMiller so, would a 2into 2 yield better low to mid range than that 2into 1? Can the same be said for a twin cam 103 with andrews 57h cams, would a 2into2 be better than a 2 into 1?
If you could choose, what would your choice of exhaust and intake be for a 114/117 with stage 2 + intake manifold and injectors be. I have a 117 with reaper 472/ported s&s/trask filter/freedom radical radius making 127hp/138tq but always chasing more.
@@TimmyBobby32 Freedom 2-2 is my pick for the best balance of HP & TQ with a great looking curve. I prefer to run the 64mm Throttlebody & intake on stage 2 kits that are chasing peak numbers.
Damn, those cr cams are serious.... Do they make cams for the twin cam motors Tom?...and which set would be a good torque set? Is the andrews 485 cam comparable to the cr 485 Tom? Alot of dudes here I'm the states are using the andrews 485.
@danr919 .....thanks for responding. So I went on cr website after commenting and it says on the twin cam cams are 07 and up, I have an 04 road king with a 95" kit on it....I'm considering building it to a 107 stroker. Wonder of they'll work or is the length of them a factor?
They won’t fit because the cam journal is smaller on pre 07 models which is unfortunate. You should look at a SE 204 cam for torque that will fit your combo. I also have a 96ci twin cam running a Se204 and I’m getting 102 foot pound torque just bolt in with pipes and filter
@danr919 ....thanks for the input. The motor was an 88" that the previous owner did the 95" big bore kit, if u wanna call it a big bore kit for what today's motors are, back in 04 that was big I guess... and it has the fueling 525 cams in it now, it definitely runs pretty good for having a 4" stroke stock crank and stock heads. I'm unsure if I'm gonna drop money on building it to a 107 or put the money down on a 24 road king with the m8 114.
I wonder how much power mine 23 breakout 117 make with blow performance exhaust with 475 cam and stage tune😄. I am working on getting big bucks to put on motor.
@ethandale22 The fuel economy won't change much at all if it's tuned correctly. You probably wouldn't notice the difference to be honest. Keep in mind though, that when you go from stage 1 upto a stage 2 kit, the bike is LOT more fun to ride, so you will find yourself twisting the throttle a little more for thr first few hundred kilometres until you calm down again. This can lead to a false sense of decreased fuel economy.
Absolutely! At minimum I would be suggesting a S&S flywheel. Even though they aren't welded, they're a much better construction. You can run one of out OEM welded flywheels, or as you mentioned, a Dark Horse Flywheel
I got that cam in my Breakout and it surges and cruises like a pig at low speed with a neutral/very light throttle position. Can that be smoothed out with a proper tune? Has a base map in it now from SCHD. They didn't put it on the dyno after the stage 2 install as the bike was new and needed to be run in first.
Price of the kit is linked in the description, installation costs vary from dealer to dealer. My install cost is $1500 which includes the full custom Dyno tune.
That mask should help with the particulates and VOCs, but only if it's kept clean and the filter is fresh. Since it isn't being stored in a ziploc we can assume that it isn't clean, and I'll bet that the filter isn't changed after each exposure. Even if the mask is treated correctly there isn't enough material in the filter to absorb any significant quantity of SOx, NOx and COx, so don't expect it to protect against incidental carbon monoxide poisoning.
I do have replacement filter elements for it that I replace but not after each exposure. I didn't know they should be replaced after each session, nor that it should be kept in a sealed bag. Makes perfect sense though now I'm thinking about it. Thanks for bringing this to my attention!
@@MasterTechMiller You just need to realize that a filter, whether it's activated charcoal or something else only has enough molecular touch points to bind a little bit of vapor, and once filled they won't remove anymore. The best thing to do is a massive amount of ventilation, none of this dust or gas is healthy and if you can smell it you're getting dosed. There isn't any upside to a cough, forgetfulness, a damaged liver or a 'little headache'. Motorcycles are hazardous enough and I won't be able to learn from you if you aren't able to teach.

gotta get rid of the short exhaust, as you know, the pipe is what is causing the "dip", the torque curve needs to be more linear
