When a record store owner makes a video about finding their personal grails, it catches my attention. 🤩 I thought for sure I was going to see Farm but I have no doubt that I will see it in one of your videos soon. Great Vertigo swirl labels and the Funhouse record is super cool. Take care.
Dillon - you're such a fabulous story teller and host. You make it look effortless, which for you it no doubt is, but for many is an enormous challenge that they often don't ever succeed at. Kudos man - you could talk about the weekly garbage pickup and I'd probably still watch the whole 24 mins worth. 💣
Definitely the earliest I've ever been. I'm still hoping MoFi will press Pink Floyd (especially The Wall) in the future, but the affordable ones not $150 One-Steps
Just found your channel yesterday and have been binge watching! Have you listened to/have a copy of Willis Alan Ramsey's self titled record from 1972? Willis dropped an all time classic record just to disappear and never release music again.. I know you'd love it based on the videos I've seen so far. My buddy found a promo copy of it a few weeks ago.. been my top (relatively easy to find) grail for a while. Cheers!
Hi Dillon, Champion chat as ever! Great to hear you name checking Anne Briggs. She was an early inspiration to the Sixties folk revival here in the UK. She had plenty of friends who are well worth checking out such as Johnny Moynihan and Bert Jansch. While we're at it, you might give NIc Jones a listen, especially his album 'Penguin Eggs.'
Dillon, check out Roy Harper's early albums on UK Harvest. (Have A Cigar). Hate to say it, but blows Ed Askew away. Jimmy Page plays on Stormcock and Lifemask. Love your videos, and I'm 65 years old. Keep up the good work.
I know this is gonna sound corny but I found Two of my Holy Grail's not too long ago (one on eBay and the other from this site from Germany, I'm actually still waiting on that one to get here in the mail). They're both the 7 inch 45's, one's by Jack Rainwater - White Sox Blues #2 and the other is A.C. & The Kentucky Fox Band Play With Fire/Music Man. The reason why I list those is because my dad played guitar on those records and sadly he just passed away back in January from pancreatic cancer, so I'm on a mission to get the other singles of The Kentucky Fox Band stuff. I joined discogs a few months too late cause they actually had one on there back in October. These might take me years before I see them, I guess these are my Might Baby!
Dillon, didn't mean to sound obnoxious earlier, but Roy Harper is my absolute fave. Recorded at Abbey Road, these EMI albums are incredible! He later teamed up with David Gilmour, who was the one to discover Kate Bush. I digress somewhat. Kate sang on a later Roy albums. Maybe you already know of him? Greetings from Michigan.
Like you I’m a huge Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Sabbath, Beatles fan etc. I’m not a huge prog rock or physic rock fan but I have no interest in a lot of these records you highlight on your channel. Not sure why but half of what you highlight. This isn’t criticism it’s more wonderment on my part.
Hey man, hello from Northern England, UK. Just discovered your channel a week or so ago and have enjoyed watching some of your older vids. so hit your little bell and subscribed. Looking forward to seeing your future vids. Love your style. Stay safe. 👍
I can't believe you have the original Anne Briggs - The Time Has come on UK CBS. I had to trade one of my kids for it. Right up my alley, I can't even remember how much I paid for it.
Do you collect any Mac Miller records? The limited editions are sky rocketing right now. I just got an alternative cover of his album called the divine feminine mint for $500.
A lot of great stuff there. Luckily I have about half of them. Did have an original ptooff but it was a bit scratched so sent it back. The psycho re issue is just as good though as it has the fold out poster sleeve. The one I really want is the jpt scare band, been looking for one since the 90's.
Around 1978 or 79, I bought Funhouse. Found it in the import section in the Discomat store in Grand Central Station in New York. It was out of print in the US and only available as a UK import. Never any of it heard it before that, but heard that it was supposed to be good and I took a chance. It completely changed the direction my music listening went into. Before that I was listening to typical 70's teen age stuff, like Led Zeppelin & Pink Floyd, and liked it, but it didn't really do anything for me, but with Funhouse and the Clash's first album, those changed everything and I never went back to my old taste. It didn't take more than 5 seconds into "Down In The Streets" and I knew I found my sound, LOL. The Clash I also bought at that Discomat, which was a damned good record store. It was also import only, because that record wasn't released in the US for a long time. It was in the import bin for only $3.99, which was cheap for an import, (Funhouse was $5.99, which was a ton of money for me in 1978) and it didn't even have shrink wrap. I know you like Led Zep, but for me there was no going back to them after hearing Funhouse and the Clash.
I just got an insanely clean 1st Press Iggy Pop 'The Idiot' at ole Pharmacy Records. However, The Stooges' Fun House still alludes me. Trying to bulk bulk up the Iggy collection.
Don’t hurt my feelings! Just your opinion! It’s a great record. Couldn’t say it’s their best work since half the songs are cover songs but I like listening to it a lot 🤣
Loved the video Dylan. Awesome awesome stuff brother. Because of you, just picked-up a Long Hair RP of ODIN!!!! My wallet always get's thinner after I watch your videos!!! .... When are you shipping to CANADA!!! Peace!
Hey man, could you(or anyone who know) explain me whats the difference between black, blue, red label? I have about 1000+ records(familly legacy) and lately i'we beet really into it and i would like to know more about it
Variations in labels are either a difference in year, or a difference in the label (record company). Sounds to me like you may be dealing with RCA labels, which came in all three of those colors. Different years that had different colors.
Found a grail!! Well actually 4 grails at goodwill. 4 Townes van zandt albums! This will probably be the best haul I will ever get lol. All are OG and in excellent shape!
Hi dylon. I have record called an apple a day with blue label and an apple on front sleeve. Only problem is its lost in my 10k collection somewhere. What do think about it. Thanks.
Does anyone have any recommendations on bands to listen to? I watch these videos and most of the bands I’ve never heard of before. The kind of music I like is the Beatles, Pink Floyd, queen, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, and ad/dc. Basically the popular ones lol
Hey Dylan, I dig the show! If you’re enjoying “acid folk” lately, check out Fraser & DeBolt “with Ian Guenther” LP on Columbia if you haven’t already. It’s inexpensive but excellent.
You need to pick up the Gutbucket and Son of Gutbucket comps on Liberty. Right up your street. Andy Fernbach and GHogs etc. Easy to find here in the Uk but they’re really good
So I subscribed yes and man I can't stop watching your vids! Question, do you have a list somewhere of albums you're looking for? I run across albums frequently as I buy out estates and I never know what to do with them lol. So if you have a list I'll be looking for them :)
Looks like I need to move my record connections up a level. You’re showing some interesting stuff. Do you have Aorta’s first album or any Jackson Heights? Just gauging how far behind you I am. ✌️
The Samurai album was re-released by Esoteric on expanded CD with three live tracks from Sweden in 1971 on it - had to get it because it has a pre Greenslade Dave Lawson on keys and vocals. As you say , a great piece of jazz rocking prog, very nice indeed.
When the lp covers are just as cool as the music on the lp😎 Enjoyed that! I was surprised to see many of the records you showed available on cd and even streaming. For those of us who arent as hardcore;)
I love this !! Had a friend that had the samurai album ... he went to the army, and when he came back his dad had burned his "weird " record collection including that one. 😳
Aw man, JPT! I been actively look for an Odin. Might be a reissue. I just low balled someone today and he accepted it. I am always so happy to see you get my grails. I might hate you a little but you are like a little brother in the VC so I can't be envious.
I love your taste, your comments on The Byrds "Sweetheart of the Rodeo" were on point. You mentioned a record on the Harvest label which made me think of Wire's banging first LP "Pink Flag". I was wondering what you think of Wire's first 3 LP's. Many consider it punk but it's not. Also I know you are hip to Peter Green and his work with John Mayall. Which of the Mayall Clapton, Green and Mick Taylor LP's do you favor? Great post and I am always happy to hear of your stooge comments, in 1970 I was a member of the French Iggy fan club with mag issues, about the only place to find Iggy info back in the day.
Love your videos - your enthusiasm is catching and my savings are a thing of the past. Very cool to hear JPT Scare Band mentioned - fantastic stuff. Been scrounging since the 90s in the thrifts, etc. Sadly, the pickings now are not so rich as then. But now there is the internet and everything is at hand.
@@noblerecords I like you dude. And I've seen your good taste with other albums. But that Odin album was the opposite of what I like. It was terrible to me. I never liked Cream, and it sounded like my worst Cream nightmare times 10.

Hey Dillon, loving your channel here in the UK. Always been into Blues/Rock and Punk growing up but totally missed Pysch 🤔 Now it's a major lockdown project checking it out. Sandy Harless could be worth a look, sad back story.Kinda reminds me of the Jim Sullivan tale.
Hey there young man ...Your music knowledge is mind blowing to say the least....do you play an instrument...err...besides the turntable ? Keep on keeping on ...👍😎🎸
Really good video. You showed some real diamonds in the rough. I seen people talk about PTOOFF! The only thing I have by The Deviants is the self titled the one with the nun on the cover. I really Ike it. It is a reissue. I think there 1st 3 records have a reissue. Maybe you can enlighten me on that. Thank you for making the video. Love your store
As a record dealer myself, watching your videos makes me feel better about my own collecting habits. I struggle with what to keep/sell at times. Especially when I buy a sweet collection where I want to keep all the cool stuff that I’m supposed to be making money on. But I guess that’s the perk of this business.
It is a perk. I always am selling things I want to keep, and always still feel like I keep too much, but I also sell out if my collection all the time. I think it’s important to feed that craving to keep yourself passionate about it.
Would love that Mouzakis record. That's actually my Daughter's mom's family name. They pronounce it Moo-ZAH-kis, not Moo-ZAY-kis but I am not sure how the band pronounces it.
Love your taste, man. I’m sure you’ve heard many of these before, but if you haven’t definitely seek out these psychedelic folk gems. I only have reissues, but man they are sweet: Linda Perhacs, Parallelograms; Gary Higgins, Red Hash; Perry Leopold, Experiments in Metaphysics; Jim Sullivan, U.F.O.; Ultimate Spinach, Behold & See (more psych than folk); Bob Desper, New Sounds; Randy Denison, Randy Denison’s Collage; F.J. McMahon, Spirit of the Golden Juice; Bobby Brown, The Enlightening Beam of Axonda (wild and weird - dude built his own instrument); Dave Bixby, Ode to Quetzalcoatl; Kenny Knight, Crossroads; Philip Lewin, Am I Really Here All Alone?; and Jimmie Spheeris, Isle of View. Keep sharing your amazing finds. One of these days I’m taking a road trip from NJ to dig through your crates!
Never seen that Ptooff! in the UK not even for sale great find. I have maybe seen it on ebay for ridiculous money once. My best find in the last 6 months was Tomorrow My White Bicycle LP UK original.
Your UA-cam Channel rocks! You give me the impression that you're really nice and down to earth. I'm a bigtime fan of vinyl records and it's really cool when I find that anyone is enthusiastic vinyl record collector. I bought some really cool vinyl records the past 2 weeks. I'm really enjoying listening to my recently purchased vinyl records. I bought some great import vinyl records! Keep spinning the vinyl! Stay healthy and safe! Healthy and happy people are the richest in the world, as money doesn't buy health and happiness.
@@noblerecords You're welcome! As for my stereo equipment, I still have my vintage 2 channel set up. I a Realistic Lab 420 turntable, Pioneer analog tuner stereo receiver, Realistic T-120 speakers, Pioneer single well cassette deck, Pioneer RT 909 open reel to reel, as that reel to reel, is the one with adapter to use both 7 1/2 inch and 10 1/2 reels. I still have the original take up and supply reels of both sizes. I also have a JVC SEA 33 10 band per channel Graphic Equalizer. My equipment, is between 35 to 45 years old. All of the stereo equipment still works and sounds great!
This channel needs to have more subscribers. Just a really great treasure trove for really unknown and known stuff. But I have a question, how do you hear about all these obscure artists and records?
Got a question for ya, I’ve been bagging up my collection, why do you keep the records outside of the sleeves in the bags? I’m worried that it’ll bend if I do that, do you have something in there to act as a sort of splint? Or does the sleeve itself provide enough structure so that the vinyl doesn’t bend?
@@noblerecords It was pretty amazing, I think it was at least five years ago now. I went with my dad on a job to clear out a woman's garage. Her husband collected everything unusual he could find at yard sales etc, including records, that he sealed in bags and never played, and that was the best one in there.

ODIN, Zappa-esque prog adventures right there !
Yes! I thought I heard a little
Zappa in there
Love your taste, man.
Thanks for the recommendations! I do have most of them but there are a few I don’t know!
Nice! I figured you’d have some of those slabs. It’s the melancholy ones that really get me. Have a great weekend Dillon.
Love all your videos Dylan. Keep ‘em coming! 👍🏻👍🏻

Never seen that Ptooff! in the UK not even for sale great find. I have maybe seen it on ebay for ridiculous money once. My best find in the last 6 months was Tomorrow My White Bicycle LP UK original.
Oh man, that Tomorrow record is amazing
Your UA-cam Channel rocks! You give me the impression that you're really nice and down to earth. I'm a bigtime fan of vinyl records and it's really cool when I find that anyone is enthusiastic vinyl record collector. I bought some really cool vinyl records the past 2 weeks. I'm really enjoying listening to my recently purchased vinyl records. I bought some great import vinyl records! Keep spinning the vinyl! Stay healthy and safe! Healthy and happy people are the richest in the world, as money doesn't buy health and happiness.
Thanks so much for the kind words!
Good question. In books and through friends
Now i got a lot "new stuff" to listen :) greetings from Germany
Love your channel!
Do you happen to have any glam rock records like sweet and slade? ❤️
I do!
Are you interested in limited private press records?

"It's like if Eric Clapton was better" AHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA awesome!!
🤣🤣🤣
i want that jpt scare band. KILLER RECORD
It’s a smoker 🔥
Got a question for ya, I’ve been bagging up my collection, why do you keep the records outside of the sleeves in the bags? I’m worried that it’ll bend if I do that, do you have something in there to act as a sort of splint? Or does the sleeve itself provide enough structure so that the vinyl doesn’t bend?
Well, the sleeve is tight enough to keep them together
@@noblerecords Appreciate the response, loving the videos!
Wow you seen how much that Janus record sells for?
Yep. 🤫
The deviants! I found that record once in a collection I bought really cheap. That was a good find!
Amazing!
@@noblerecords It was pretty amazing, I think it was at least five years ago now. I went with my dad on a job to clear out a woman's garage. Her husband collected everything unusual he could find at yard sales etc, including records, that he sealed in bags and never played, and that was the best one in there.
Good to know that the mic on the butt of your chair is working!
Oh it works. Gotta sneak in those farts
