- "I Can't See Nobody" is a song by the Bee Gees, released first as the B-side of "New York Mining Disaster 1941". With "New York Mining Disaster 1941", this song was issued as a double A in Germany and Japan, and included on the group's third LP, Bee Gees' 1st.
It was written by Barry and Robin Gibb in 1966 towards the end of the family's time living in Australia. Maurice Gibb has sometimes been listed as a co-writer for the song, most notably on the compilation Bee Gees Gold. According to Nat Kipner, the song was recorded at St. Clair Studios. Robin has said that it was written in Brisbane, Australia, where the band toured in November 1966, but that the first version was not released.

Virginia, you are so right. I can't count the times I've watched this video. It's my fave Bee Gees song, and I think this may be the best version. I've loved the Bee Gees and especially Robin since I was 14 years old. I'm now 67 and still love them!
A true Bee Gees fan will know they all had superb voices, but Robin was on another level.

While all 3 had magnificent voices, Robin's was down right phenomenal. It's so hard to believe only Barry is still here bc this group was like NONE OTHER. Totally unique. Phenomenal talent.

Totally agree! I always wondered why Barry started singing the falsetto though. It sometimes drowned out the other brothers. I wasn't crazy for it because to me it sounded exaggerated. I liked his normal tone better.

These are the Bee Gees that I love, not the disco ones. Robin has always been my favorite, his strange voice is really nice. The way he sings, letting his breath run out right at the end of each line makes him sound like he's on the verge of crying. It's beautiful, as are their harmonies.

Remember that the twins were born on 22 Dec 1949. In 1950, practically. And the story goes, that it was composed in a stripper's changing room! 😜

Performed in ‘74 and Robin would have been 25!! Barry had the talent and taught the twins! They all had the natural ability in them!! By far in all aspects they were and still are the best!! ❤️❤️❤️
Robin's voice was extraordinary and watching him sing in the early days of their career was indeed mesmerizing. My opinion is they relied to much on Barry's falsetto in later songs. Robin will always be "the voice."

Barry has said in multiple interviews that he was pushed to do the falsetto which he didn't know he could do. He said it was ok to do it for awhile, but felt trapped into using it longer than he wanted.

Robin never received the recognition he deserved. In the beginning he sang many leads. As the years went by, it became Barry. The females loved Barry for his looks but Robin's talent was undeniable. All three were very talented and as a group, were the best ever. I loved them all equally.

Barry got most of the spotlight and indeed had an amazing voice, but this performance by Robin is just mesmerizing.

I heard a voice expert analyze Robin's vocal delivery even at this young age and he couldn't believe it. Nothing but accolades! Never did change all through the years. Even in October 2020 it's still awesome.

I loved the Bee Gees early output and am sad when that era of their music is overshadowed by their later disco sound. It was all brilliant...but nothing beats this song and Robin's amazing live vocal. This may be the perfect version and I never tire of it. Miss you, dearest Robin.

Yes, it's saddening really. I think it's got to do with the family's financial difficulties ever since the Twins were conceived. Maurice aged very quickly, he looked 20 years older around 1975 when Robin was at his best. Then he managed to hide his baldness with a beard & a hat. Robin had severe digestive problems, and all in all, poor health.
@ louisati1757, and the cancer took a real toll on his body. You could really see the changes during his last years. RIP Robin. You were one of the best! And, to his twin Maurice and their baby brother Andy. All gone to soon. ❤

Bee Gees = quality. Whether it was songwriting, singing (with beautiful harmonies), producing, and even interviews (polite and witty). I also loved how they enunciated their song lyrics which few people do these days. On The Voice a few years ago, I remember Blake Shelton telling more than one person on his team that they needed to sing so that people could understand the words. He then said songwriters work hard to make sure their lyrics are good and listeners want to hear those words. Was so glad he said that.
