Good video. Most splits for agents these days are 80/20 and most have a cap. Once the cap is paid, they get 100%. Not all brokers do this. But we do have other fees that we always have to pay no matter what for each listing. We pay for photography, videography, magazine ads, online ads, social media ads, e-flyers, actual flyers, extra signage, open house things like food, water, drinks, events for larger houses, cleaners, staging consultations, floor plan creation and I'm sure I missed a few.

Lets say you charge $500. Do you include editing of the video? Or do you up-sell to edit each video? I think $500 to shoot it is pretty good, but then you have all the editing to do. Just wondered your thoughts on this. Thanks and keep up the great work!!

Has anyone ever got 6 listings from 20 cold emails? 🤷♂️My ratio is way lower... Brandon if you can show me you can get 6 new listings with normal rates from 20 cold emails I will Venmo you $100. I think you are way too optimistic about how hard it is to book a client. Other than that I love the video and your strategies. Thanks for sharing. You rock!
Expecting 6 listings from 20 cold emails is WAY too optimistic. I think he even knows that.
20 emails maybe for 1 listing, and I would try to give them a call too to see if they even saw my email, they are probably getting tones of emails every day

What's up Brandon. Love the video tips. I'm using a Ronin RS3 Gimbal and I recently purchased the Vertical adapter but I see most Real Estate Videographers shoot Landscape. What are your thoughts on shooting Portrait ?
It really depends on where the realtor is planning on sharing the content. However if you shoot horizontal you can crop for vertical it just won’t be the best resolution

Okay, but how do you even start getting experience? How can you start doing this without any real estate videos? How do you START
Maybe you could start making your first real estate video for free? In this way you could test how well your shooting skills currently are and also build up some experience which can be shown to your future clients. Once you kickstart your videographer in the real estate business, you can definitely go on bigger depending on your skills and network. I hope this helps!

My mom is a real estate agent in the Bryan College Station area and she has been doing it longer than I've been alive so 17 years and I have grown up with the all the agents so not to brag but I've got a small leg up in the Bryan College Station area.

Great video! Even though I have a demo reel and website I haven’t done real estate before. I want to get into it but people always ask to see previous experience. How would I go about making a reel if I can’t get the work to make one? I thought about filming local architecture.
If you can you should ask your friends/family who had a decent house if you can shoot a real estate video of their house to sdd to your portfolio. Then when agents ask you to see what sort of work you produce, you link the demo video in the email. Hope that could help a bit :)

What I have not heard mentioned is ... what if the house does not sell? What does the agent make after spending what must be spent upon advertising? $ 0. There are many reasons why the house does not sell or is taken off the market.

Hey so I started doing this but on Zillow and Redfin, I can not find their direct email to contact the agents. It forces me to get in contact with a Redfin or Zillow personnel.

Great video! Does shooting and editing only take you 1.5 hours per house or is that just the time spent in the house? How much time do you usually spent at the house vs editing?
Hour in the house 30 min editing and about 30 min exporting and uploading the video for the client.

This is really good advice but one BIG thing that's missing from the conversation here, as well as the math, is the editing. Editing is definitely the bottleneck for me. Perhaps there are some pro tips in the course...
I don’t know anything from personal experience in this regarding but I’m trying learn more about the filming real estate opportunity but in my research I came across a UA-cam who goes over the business side of film making and he was discussing this site www.videohusky.com who does unlimited video editing. What editing software do you use?
I want to do this, but I don't have a drone. I have the bmpcc 4k and the Crane 2S. Do you think it's possible to make money via real estate with only this equipment if I charge a bit less money? Obviously, the money I make could be put towards getting a drone.
You don’t need to charge less. I up charge for a drone shot and only use max 10 seconds of drone peppered in. Offer just a “cinematic” video for $400 or $500. If they really want drone tell them it’s an extra $200. And then go buy a used mavic air and it pays for itself in one job.

No. Contact a real estate company and tell them you normally charge $1200-$2000 for video production but since you’re looking to build your portfolio, you are willing to do it a no cost or a small fee.
It's pretty easy to shoot luxury listings for free, actually. As long as the properties are vacant, the agents usually say yes as long as you allow them to use the finished product. Just be up front with them about building your portfolio. It's how I started building my portfolio, and also made some great relationships which led to many more paid jobs with those same agents. Beats the heck out of paying for an Airbnb and meeting no one along the way.
What is a good wide angle lens. I usually use ff cams but decided to use my pocket 4k with a new 12mm lens and it was not wide enough at all
Yeah micro 4/3 typically is about a two times crop. So that gave you a24mm. Not wide enough. I’d go with Lawoa zero D 9mm lens. It has no distortion (they say) but it’s for sure not a fisheye.
