I am Indian and I have lived in Sri Lanka for 3 years during service. It is indeed a very good place to live. I had no. of locals as friends. Good Experience. And mind you at the peak of the Civil War, between 1998 and 2001.
Sri Lanka Is Beautiful Gorgeous And Stunning...A Place Like No Other....Yes For Foreigners Its A Spectacular Place To Live🌻🌈💛...But Not For The Locals... Sri Lankan Food Its Not At All Like Indian Food🤨...Thats Wrong Information... Totally Way So Much Different... Probably You Will Find Indian Food In The Tamil Restaurants In Sri Lanka... Appreciate For Sharing 🤍🕊️🇱🇰....
Super food, super people ,great place to retire. Ensure you have a decent passive income.Private healthcare is ok,but get health insurance that allows you to get treatment in India and Singapore.
Brilliant work already sharing Your straight to the point And very explanatory Not the yuppies saying look at me, as soon as that happens there thrown of my Utube viewing
I really enjoyed your video thank you, I was in Sri Lanka when the 2019 Easter bombings occurred, lots of people left we decided to stay and was very welcoming from the locals for doing so, whilst on the trip i met several retirees along the way who all were having a great time and felt safe, I was considering doing the same but covid swept the world and everything changed, I'm from Australia and in recent months feel less safe in my home country than I ever did in Sri Lanka, Question please,. Your video looks quite recent are you aware or up to date with the political climate over there in regards to vaccine passports and that sort of thing? Or can you direct me somewhere that does have an up-to-date opinion on that? regards Ralph
Hi Ralph, yes same for me re Australia after the condoned behaviour of Dan Andrews during covid I no longer relate to 'home', looking for a more interesting alternative...
Thanks for the beautiful video about my country. Its a shame that politicians has destroyed my country and made us leave the country. Politicians have no vision for the development of the country. Idiotic decisions has made the country bankrupt. Whole 2022 has been very challenging with frequent power cuts, import restrictions, long queues to pump fuel. Still fuel is given on a quota basis. Even if you have money, things you can buy are limited. Most of the drivers are reckless, dont obey the traffic laws. Even in this video you will see a cab is overtaking a vehicle @12:15 wrongfully. Its a serious traffic offense.! Those things are pretty common. Hope my country will make a turnaround at least in about 10 years, and will be a much better place to retire! Until such time I personally have no intention of going back there, sadly!
Have to agree with what you said esp.about the drivers-buses seem to be driven by maniacs and 3 wheelers are also a menace. I was in SL a year ago, first time since 2019,and could feel things were not good, talking to local people confirmed this..I was offered drugs,sex-men or women-was difficult to relax on the beach as someone would arrive looking to sell something or just ask for money. After a while I felt like a walking ATM. None of the above happened on previous visits-7 in total-so clearly the current econ.situation is dire. Beware of videos offering paradise-do some research into the econ./pol.situation if you are thinking of relocating.
Sri Lankans never really appreciate their own country which is utterly sad and disgusting to see. Of course, politics have ruined the Economy, but that's the same in many countries in the world , plus taxes are absurdly high everywhere. But Some Sri Lankans pretend that they're better off overseas, they pay exorbitantly high taxes, lives huddled up in shacks, and work all day and night to earn some kind of living. Its only our Economy that needs to work,. Other that the stupid decisions and corruption by politicians, this Country SRI LANKA is one of the Best and of the Most Beautiful countries in this world. From Environment , Weather, Beaches, Sand, Hospitality, Amazing Food, to Exotic destinations in this Beautiful Island, there is nothing to compare. Hoping that our own Sri Lankans can realize that.
People see the beach, friendly locals -who of course hope to make money from tourists, fair enough-and think its paradise. Ask locals if they think they are living in paradise-I have -and you will get some informative answers.Videos like this give a false impression of what its really like.
u should say somethink about how to get visa -if we need visa to live there. how to buy a prperty-if we can buy property ....and some other ususfull information. and not about good food and that stupidity.
Didnt find it a problem in the 8 times I have been there-overall its a conservative country, more so than Thailand for example, but that could be because the vast maj.are buddhist and not because of muslims.
Nice video! Thanks for sharing

If you got two does of vaccine and negative PCR 48 hours before your travel date, you can visit any part of the country without any trouble

I wanna retire in Sri lanka
Bro the cost of living is really high. If you have a lot of money then it's fine
@@abdullahjiffry978 I don't have a money so much
Whats the cost of living? I saw a guy in a video saying he lives for under 500$ there.@abdullahjiffry978
Clearly you havent been there!
Trust me you don’t 😂
This all sounds great, I have seen that Sri Lanka is all but bankrupt and they only have electricity 2 - 4 hours daily.
yes 😅 but not now
I was going to copy this down to my essay but it came a little bit lengthy,I quit 😢
Why did you show a boat that was Thai?!

Its like 90 people like to runaway from Sri Lanka, and 10 people like to come over there. Still ordinary Sri Lankans are struggling everyday.

Do your own reserch-its not that difficult!
Is it only expats that can live in srilanker.
yeah but not a place to retire and also option to work remotely. No unlimited internet. really poor internet infrastructure. Needs starlink minumum
AI voice is not good.
Stiff conservative people who always talk about their home country, forget it.
Certainly conservative for sure but becoming less so esp.in Colombo.
Are sri lankan women loyal and attentive to their men? What do they think of foreigners?
All. That. Glitters. Is. Not. Gold
So many Muslim is Sl
Quite surprised
So what is your point
@@anneliesspoelma3499 he clearly racist and has a large voice on the keyboard
Only 7% but mostly live in Cities in larger numbers for safety reasons hence the illusion of a lot of Muslims
Also pls address the hidden judgment in your comment. You will become a better person because of it.
