I watched her today and when the barrister talked about the PO being able to do their own prosecution, she said she was not aware they could and didn't know over a 5 yr. period. I knew and was told this by my parents years ago!!! Total fraud.
I was aware of this during the mid 1980’s as I had met a couple of investigators through a colleague.
Me too. I worked as a Christmas casual for royal mail one year for three months and found out then. Yet she wants you to believe that after five years as CEO of POL she didn't know.
I listened to the whole of her Day 1 witness testimony, I got rather sick of her saying "sorry" and "I regret" mainly because neither statement rang true.
Where is the £5 million you had?

Unconbloodyvincing. It was reported in the Sunday Times that the only resigned from her Health Service job when a member of the board she chaired threatened to resign. She seems to be totally self-centered (and so thick she needs a minder)

It appears that there was very aggressive pursuit of sub-postmasters for criminal activity based on Horizon data, but there was no interest in or attempt to understand why this "fraudulent" activity was happening in the first place.
In 2013 she could see the issues with Horizon. In 2015 states to the select committee it is fine. That is lying to parliament surely.

The insanity it took so long to do anything about the cruelty perpetrated against the postmasters. The elitism of Ms Vennells, the board, the management team demonstrated towards the post masters was blindingly arrogant on every level. It has been and continues to be private school entitlement process of “we will do as what we want when we want”.
At least she has given evidence and has apologised and cried ..Jane Macleod buggered off back to Australia and wouldn't even give evidence..and she's the GC that drove the litigation v JFSA ..and the Appeal..and witheld crucial.information from the Board.

THIS IS IMPORTANT. And I want to know why no one has looked into this and asked the questions. Mr Rudkin was invited to Fujitsu Bracknell HQ. He saw what he saw. The next day his wife was awoken by a Post Office Audit team to suddenly announce that they were now 40,000 quid in the black and Rudkin sacked etc. They ( the post office and Fujitsu then denied Rudkin had ever been to the Bracknell HQ and the visitor book vanished and emails were deleted) Their lives were ruined that day because of what Mr Rudkin saw and heard. WHO at POL and Fujitsu ordered that REVENGE audit? Someone high up ordered all that to happen. Why has this not been brought up in the enquiry?
