- INSANE Blown Chevy Luv doing some N/T Grudge Racing during the Redemption No Prep event at Texas Raceway in Kennedale TX. Unfortunately the Luv suffered some serious parts FAIL while racing a Big Tire Camaro. Luckily the leakage on the track was minimal but the Ol' Luv needs some Love. lol

The torque converter was converting too much and it jammed a rod into the naturally aspirated supercharger and it broke (sarcasm for all you humorless folks)
would like to see more of this truck when it lives again.
Contrary to popular belief, Chevy Luv's have no drivetrain. Instead they are thrown down the track by the amount of thrust produced by the side exit exhaust. Science.

@Mal Reynolds 3 years later all the test results came back and muffler bearings and low turn signal fluid were the culprits

Lean is boom! On the previous run the pipes were glowing red hot. I suspect the nitro can had been tipped!

It dropped a cylinder on the right side in the 1st past it looked like. Maybe A fire issue. The exhaust wasn't consistent on that side like the left was. Idk many many things to fail when you make big power!
Great racing. Love drag racing Its a shame that she blew. Thats a very expensive bang but thank God that the whole front didn't turn a big fire ball. I have seen that before. When you are able to get out of a car/ truck and not be slightly crispy that's a good thing.
Anyone else notice the car alarms going off on that first run from mid track view. That luv was nasty and LOUD!
a little adjusting and some work on that rear end for stability it would be great. looks like its still in the making though. good job so far.

Rippee42 the sound does not have anything to do with what i was saying i was saying that because on the first pass, only the right side of the car was shooting out flames none from the left side.
TheOne AndOnly common thing to swap 4 & 7. surprised you can pick that up.
Should have narrowed the rear more for more traction

At 1:34 when the color of the flame changed from blue to red something internal had failed. If he had stayed off the throttle it would have saved the engine, but he continued to run it.
krazyd27 the blue turning to red was the alcohol leaning out and causing engine failure

+lovonrun Is it possible for it to lean out because of the engine being over-revved (spun tires) and melt a piston or drop a valve and put a hole in the piston, and the alcohol blowing through the hole in the piston into the crankcase and igniting pretty much caused the thing to blow a hole in the block or whatever? idk.

Why are so many unnecessary people milling around in the start-line/burnout areas? Sanctioned events do not allow this for very good reasons.

looks like he popped all his nitrous and wasent in a high enough rpm for the engine to let it flow correctly and caused a pre detanation causing to much combustion in a champer/chambers and boom

Exactly, you can hear it isn't idling correctly and you shouldnt have that much flame coming outta the pipes. It looks like a nitrous car, probably way too fat on the fuel
carey540 , alcohol cars don't idle well at all , that's why they idle so high , it's kinda like comparing it to a d11 cat , their either on or their off
carey540 , and another thing , fyi , the alcohol is the fuel , nothing else , alcohol cars don't have radiators like other conventional combos it's cause the alcohol runs so cool

I have a 496 BBC on alcohol with 1471 littlefield blower I know how they act. but they also have to be spot on or they will self destruct. air temp and humidity have slot to do with your tune also

Fat is happy, but whoever tuned this engine blew it up. too fat and it gets in the pan and does an oil change for you.
