And Duke "I saw you beat that man like I've never seen any man get beat before and that man kept coming after you. We don't need that kind of man in our lives". The only one being real and protecting his fighter. Tony Evers was such a great actor.
For sure, even the way he called Rocky out to fight was very very tame. It’s a good emotional literacy test, he’s the antagonist but he’s not evil he’s just a competitor.
He really is! When there is TV he always put on a show. The few times we see Rocky and Apollo together alone he is totally different. The scene at the hospital when Rocky asks if he did his best comes to mind. He is quite angry in Rocky 2. But it is understandable. He is under a lot of stress and pressure. Apollo Creed made these movies so entertaining.
I'm sure the subtitles are wrong.... It sounds like rocky says to Apollo "you're great" not "yo creed" .... And that makes more sense for his character and for Apollo to raise his hand....
@@iad77 Yeah, those subtitles are wrong. It's definitely "You're great." Another wrong bit I see frequently is during the fight the subs claim "Balboa's on his way," but Stu Nahan actually says "Balboa won't quit."
Coby, seeing you get so invested in the fight makes me happy. When you and Adrian were saying, "Get up", knowing what was going to happen, I still said, "You better listen to Coby". Those happy tears you shed got to me, I don't mind admitting. Thank you for another wonderful reaction. Until next time, have a most wonderful day.
Who would have thought, the final words in sports/ Boxing movies is 'I love you' for Two Rocky's running. Pure love story with a bit of boxing thrown in.
The best line in this movie is when Rocky takes Adrienne to the zoo and asked her " what are doing for next 40 or 50 years, if you wouldn't mind marrying me too much."
Even the fourth one still has loads of heart despite its more over the top tone and then 5 despite its flaws still had loads of heart and solid character writing
Rocky 3/4 are my favorite. Sly has said he hates it when Rocky is called a boxing movie-it’s a love story with boxing in it. Rocky is the best franchise there is💖 I’ve cried at several spots in each Rocky movie. Huge Sly fan
Stallone was actually injured while training to shoot Rocky 2. He tore his pectoral muscle on his left, which is real reason that he wrote in the part about Rocky fighting right-handed. The injury hadn't healed yet and fighting right-handed would allow him to rest the injury on the long days of shooting the fight scene.
If u don’t cry in every Rocky movie then ur not human ! I’ve seen this movie literally 50 times at least in my 55 years and I’ve cried alligator tears every single time. Including this one. Cant wait to come back for 3. Hopefully very soon⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☑️
Great reaction, Coby. Dont worry. You aren't alone. These movies elicit tremendous emotion. Glad you love the Rocky movies. They are excellent. Definitely, deserve a sub. Remember, we didn’t have VCR tapes to rewatch the movie at the time. It was years before we saw the sequel.
Great reaction! Adrian didn't just give him her approval to fight; she told him to "Win! Win!" She never approved of his fighting, but in the first one Rocky just wanted to prove he wasn't a bum. Adrian knew that Rocky needed to win, and that gave Rocky something to shoot for. At the end of the movie Rocky yells, "Yo Adrian, I did it!!" celebrating the fact that he was able to fulfill her request. I love this movie. The song "Eye of the Tiger" aired in Rocky III.
Always been my favourite, and the first Rocky film I ever saw. As you demonstrated, it is even more emotional than the first film. I prefer to think of Rocky and Rocky II as one story, which was the story of how Rocky became champion of the world. Watching the two films back to back is even more moving. And they manage to fit stylistically together, even though one cost less than a million and the other $7 million. Rocky II is definitely cleaner, crisper than the first film.
Coby, as someone who has been around the proverbial block, it's easy to see if someone is genuine and real vs. someone who isn't. And even though you are in a profession (acting) that is notorious for phoniness and duplicity, AND living in the mecca of the entertainment capital of the world (Los Angeles/Hollywood), you come across as a VERY down-to-earth person with genuine emotions. And that vocational/personality dichotomy that you possess makes you VERY endearing, which makes you even more attractive than you already are.
When Rocky is speaking after the fight, and a voice yells out, "We love ya Rock," and he says "Yeah, I love yous too, ...... that was unscripted. It was one of those spontaneous emotional moments, and it fit so well it stayed in the film.
Cobe probably doesn't read the comments but her reaction was so adorably cute.I love how the movies have turned out to be so much more than she thought coming in

I love the Rocky series. It’s an American classic at this point. No matter your background, he’s a character that we can all root for. It’s also a really great love story.
Stallone said: "Rocky is a love story, not a boxing movie." ... Apollo didn't pace himself, and this is against the only opponent to go the full 15 rounds with him. Apollo's trainer Tony NEVER underestimated Rocky, not from the first moment he watched him pound raw side of beef on tv.
Great reaction yes I had a tiger from Rocky three and used to try the rest of the other movies starting at Rocky three ending for Rocky six. I wasn’t Rocky Balboa 6 called Rocky Balboa and then there are three Creed movies but the lost son of Apollo Creed, which Rocky helps like Helped him. The way Mick helped Rocky thanks for the fun until till next time
I honestly have to say that I'm subscribed to this channel solely because of your reactions, like I'm sure a lot of people are, you are clearly the best reactor, your pace and commentary are much better and how you pay attention to details and get the movie and your investment just leads me to believe you should have your own channel, I think it would become huge, just look at the views you got for John Wick, 107K no other reactor on the channel has come close to that, and Cami has done about 80% of the reactions, I mean this channel has reacted to some Iconic films, like Silence of the Lambs and Alien, but those were wasted because the wrong reactor did them, they only got 1K to 3k views, those should have received about 50K or 100K views and they would have if you would have done them, just think about it, either way good luck and keep up the good work
Watching the Rocky films in rapid succession intensifies your connection with the characters and storyline. I'm glad you followed up on the first one immediately. Can't wait for the next! Just keep punching! 🥊
I remember when this movie was being filmed and the call went out over the radio for kids to appear in the movie. All they had to do was show up at the various filming locations (Independence Square, the Ben Franklin Parkway/Art Museum, etc.) and they would be in those scenes following Stallone as he runs. As you could see, a lot of kids (and their parents) responded.
Some trivia for you, the group of guys singing around the barrel the guy in the middle with the leather jacket and the fro is Frank Stallone Sylvester's brother
Just because you’re in a coma doesn’t mean you can’t breathe on your own. Nowadays she’d be on a heart monitor and an I.V. but in the early ‘80’s who’s to say what sort of technology they have. I was a baby myself at the time, lol!
Eye of the Tiger comes in Rocky III. When they (Survivor) were writing the music for the movie, they were rushed and couldn't come up with anything that quickly. They talked Sylvester Stallone into watching the uncut movie to get a feel for what they needed to do. At one point in the movie (and you will see it), Apollo talks about Rocky having "the eye of the tiger". That's stood out and that is how they come up with that song.
To address some questions: 1.Regarding the kids running up the steps... My father, who grew up in Philly, said that Rocky ran approximately 10 miles distance from where his home was. However, the way the film is cut is not consistent with locations in sequence. 2. Eye of the Tiger is featured in part 3. 3. Taping of hands in boxing protects the knuckles and the wrists. It is hard. But not "rock hard".
@@jamespetkwitz8737 neither of you explained that the kids didn't run the same distance that Rocky ran in Rocky 1. And Mr. Collopy, you don't need to tell her Eye of The Tiger is in the next one, let her be surprised when she hears it. Don't you think that would be better?
@zig_zag____1265 that's not a spoiler. A spoiler is revealing a plot development. Not a song featured in the movie. And was used in the marketing of said movie.

But the first one is iconic and personally I also really like Rambo (the fourth movie). Other fun or great Sly movies. In 1979 [well, '76 when this movie takes place], houses were that cheap. Their unaffordable price today has nothing to do with inflation and everything to do with unbridled greed. People still had some scruples back then.
Rocky II is great. I remember my mom (RIP) telling me that everyone in the whole audience cheered when he finally beat Apollo. But to me, Rocky Balboa is the best movie in the franchise since the original. He gives a speech that is the best acting and writing of Stallones career.
Great reaction, Coby! Crying is something that a lot of people, who didn't want to watch a "boxing" movie, did anyway! Really enjoyed...even more than the downing of a dozen doughnuts! :)
A lot of 70s-80s sequels began with the last scene of the movie before it. That was back in the day when people didn’t have VCRs or (obviously) streaming video. Many people wouldn’t remember where things left off 3 years prior when they saw the movie in the theater.
One of the best sequels ever. Better than the first movie. One thing I'll mention that I hadn't seen anyone else mention yet I think.... The writing.... Did you notice a difference between Rocky and Adrian's personalities? They are acquiring each other's strengths. He's getting smarter and she's having more confidence. The writing of these two characters is just brilliant. And it's so truthful to how a great relationship should work... Growing together and becoming better from it.
Better than the first? I dont know about that. Almost every scene in Rocky is a classic. To me, the writing of Rocky and Adrian's homelife was a little silly. It was too soap opera-ish. It's like he was trying to make Love Story in a boxing movie. There was not enough ugly between the two and when a couple gets stressed out over money, they can get ugly. That's why I think Rocky Balboa is the best Rocky movie after the original. It feels far more natural. Its Rocky that has always been the most fascinating and wonderful part of this franchise. Stallone figured that out when he made Rocky 6 and brought back the magic of Rocky Balboa. And that speech in Rocky Balboa is possibly the best writing and acting of Stallones career.
@@LukeLovesRoseMay be a bit soap opera but it’s very real stuff that probably happens to a lot of people who win the lottery or just get any type of big money And considering how grounded the first film was, it’s very much in line tone wise with the first film The films are also suppose to be dramas so of course there’s gonna be drama in the story Feels like it does reflect Stallone personally in many ways to his life
@popcornroulette Funny thing is, when Paul is throwing shade at Rocky and Apollo he literally would have wiped the floor with them IRL. He was Marine heavyweight champ, legit boxer.
Running up the steps of the museum might not be the most difficult thing to do in of themselves, but they are the Finish Line of his long training run; representative of from where Rocky was when he FIRST started training 3 years prior.
One of the greatest sequels ever made. We all tear up at the end. I still do.
I just did
I do when I watch but even when I watch other people react and enjoy it and get just as invested as much as do
"I won but I didnt beat him!" Thats a perfect line for Appolo Creed's character.

The guy singing at the fire while rocky was carrying adrian home is his brother , frank stallone. 🙂
U were like Adrian watching this.. "Hit him back!"
I'm really excited to watch this! I loved the first reaction. You're really smart and have a great personality.
She's also gorgeous!
@@davidmacias741 :) yeah she is
Great and authentic reactions - keep'em coming.
@@LukeLovesRose I agree with all of that.
@@LukeLovesRoseMay be a bit soap opera but it’s very real stuff that probably happens to a lot of people who win the lottery or just get any type of big money
And considering how grounded the first film was, it’s very much in line tone wise with the first film
The films are also suppose to be dramas so of course there’s gonna be drama in the story
Feels like it does reflect Stallone personally in many ways to his life
@@dylanburton4955 I like Rocky 2 a lot. But there's no speech or line of dialogue that's as memorable as Rockys speech to his son in Rocky Balboa
Eye of the Tiger came out in 1982 which is the same year Rocky 3 came out. Rocky 1 came out in 1976 and Rocky 2 came out in 1979.
It was written for the movie. So was Burning Heart for Rocky 4.
@@jonlandin2440 I know. Did you notice she kept mentioning Eye of the tiger? That's why I addressed it 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@popcornroulette Funny thing is, when Paul is throwing shade at Rocky and Apollo he literally would have wiped the floor with them IRL. He was Marine heavyweight champ, legit boxer.
BEST REACTION TO ROCKY 1 & 2 EVER!!!
Your the best reactor on popcorn roulette, now on to Rocky 3
"Condominiums? I never use 'em" is an underrated joke tbh
Running up the steps of the museum might not be the most difficult thing to do in of themselves, but they are the Finish Line of his long training run; representative of from where Rocky was when he FIRST started training 3 years prior.
