RC Kiwis , i have some of the biggest and the best RCs out there , i started off back in 1985 with a Tamiya Hot Shot , to this very day i still have that iconic buggy . Over the years i have collected numerous cars , some expensive and others very budget friendly . The truth is , it makes no difference price wise . No matter what car , buggy , or truck i have run , it has always been enjoyable . In fact after all these years i have yet to drive a RC that hasnt put a smile on my face , and thats what this hobby is all about . Its about having fun , price does not equal enjoyment . Your last few videos have been on point you included lower end RCs , and have clearly shown the enjoyment the cars have brought . An excellent way to introduce those just getting into the hobby . Cheers , be safe .
Too many people get caught up in the branding and not the point. The races are so overwhelming to new comers and then the pro racers act to serious and its not helping bring in more people for this hobby.
Best of all : You can get brushless upgrade + dumbo RC + 120 amp hobbywing ESC for LESS than 100€. Then the cheap will humiliate the expensive even with stock battery.
I'm looking forward to winning races with my 104001 i built up. ;) should be fun showing the people with the money for the " good stuff" that even wltoys can be fast with a good driver.
Right on! I still use my 124019 even after racing 1/8-scale buggies, X-Maxx’s, and similar models. I just put a 4S brushless setup in it (running on 3S), paired with some big, wide off-road wheels. I must say, it’s a beast! Not for bashing, of course, but it’s basically a mini version of my X-Maxx.
my favorite part is when you asked Amber for another race, and she paused for a second and said "iiii...think you should just take the loss?"....HAHAHAHA...great fun , y'all!
Great video! Top tipp for the next time: Start off camera with both at the same time. Run three rounds and see how much ahead the quicker one is. Then, on camera, give the slower one a head start that equals the advance of the quicker one in the first race :) I love these race videos of you two, they're always fun!
I have around 5 high end rcs and i am definitely thinking about getting this and doing a few minor upgrades to it, take it to my track and see if it can hang
Man if your a first timer you would do yourself a big favor to buy the kit version if available. The knowledge you gain and the speed of repair you gain is a must! Ha I will say I’m one of the crazy people who enjoys the build! What fun.
Thanks for placing them on the track again. Maybe next time do the traxxas bandit. Very well known buggy in RC. Another 2 wheel drive that serves the same purpose as WLtoys. Or use the associated buggy that is two wheel drive as well. Would be really cool to see a brushed setup in ether two going head to head against each other. Because in this situation we really are comparing chassis setup! But this is awesome what you guys did regardless. Love you two are reviewing and showing a couple can enjoy the hobby!!!!!!! Thank you for all your time and effort especially as I am learning UA-cam is wicked hard.
As everyone else has said “I have a few expensive cars and a couple of WLToys cars, the usual 144001 etc” they all make me smile. As I can see just making your videos makes you both smile and it’s always great to see the good v’s the cheap....so 2 say. Keep up the content it’s always great to see and to the point, I see you both smiling like I do when I take any car out cheap or expensive and that’s what the hobby is all about. Stay safe and keep up the good content 🙏👍
Awesome video......little hint.....Amber keep your hand on the wheel.....don't let it snap back to center.....you'll have better control.....and it will be easier to drive....just a thought....👍
what would really be nice is seeing the lap times compared to a pro car driven by a pro to his time with a wl toys... of coarse he would need to adjust both cars and get to race them both ...and yes they should both be 4 wheel drive with same tires same basic shock adjustments as close as possible...that would really prove something one way or another... thanks
I raced RC-10's since the first ones in 1984. Those tires appear to be junk. I have not raced in 20 years but when I raced the original and the B3, Soft Mini pins or bowties were generally the best on harder tracks. Also, using lighter shock oil. I don't know the driving level of either of you but that RC-10 should smoke the 1/12 scale if properly setup. That is what makes a race car an actual race car, the easy ability to change the setup to work with the track you are at. Is the slipper clutch even setup to avoid the spins outs on a slick surface? An improperly setup 4wd will likely out drive an improperly setup 2wd due to the extra pulling wheels. I raced a 4wd Schumacher Cat in the late 80's and it was faster in the modified class than my RC-10 was, just because of 4WD.
That brings back memories of my race days in the mid 1980s, I recently found my half built RC10 pro w/the stealth tranny, my old one was so dialed in I never switched. I just love these new cheap/upgradeable cars, I ordered a WL124018 after buying a A989 and K989. Too much fun hoping them up!
Great video guys. Nice to see a comparison of an out of the box RTR vs a kit "competition" racer like the B6.2 ... Could this also show that 4WD is fundamentally better than 2WD? (Gave you your out Joe. You're welcome!) For the price the WLT 124019 is extremely capable and could be a great introduction RTR machine for that Christmas morning fun in the garden, or local park! Thank's for sharing. Keep up the good work :)
Nice to see how u beginners on racetrack enjoy the hobby 👍🏼 On bashing your driving looks very very solid... there i am a noob... last week i bought an EXB that I make ready this days. What is funnier for you and what is more difficult to learn... Bashing with flips and flops and precise landings or driving precise and fast on a racetrack? Wish u still a lot of fun in this great hobby. Greetings from Germany...
Cool video but when it comes to competitive racing that WL isn't going to cut it and you'll see that as soon as you go to work on or adjust it if it's able to be adjusted. WL great to bash mess around tho
Videos are excellent. Great video and audio quality. I like the edits and keep it up!! I'd only suggest dumping 'cheap' for either budget or lower end. Only because cheap sounds like it'll break the first time you take it out. Clearly the budget RCs you feature are great for those on a limited income. They turn out to be very competitive! Cheers!! Happy Christmas! 🎄❤️🇨🇦😘😎
Love our NB4 in fact we have 2 of them now! One each, but I cant comment on the Rugged as we haven't tried one yet. Both have good reviews though so you cant go wrong!
Awesome job! Love the channel. I just bought my first race buggy kit and I've never even been on a track before but there is a carpet indoor track by me that just opened. I'm in the process of putting together the TLR 22 5.0 AC. Still need the electronics though but I cant wait!
One thing I'd recommend trying is an Associated B7.4 vs an LC Racing LC10B5, both with identical equipment, and then doing back-to-back races so that you each get to drive both. By taking the driver skill, driveline type and power variables out of the equation it would give a really good comparison between the two vehicles.
More shock and awe (race vs bash, bash vs race) vids will likely gain you more subs. Old school racer, long time basher... Your personalities line up to get lots of views.
Id compare the 104001 and the associated B64, because they use the same size parts (at least the entire front CVA kit from associated fits PERFECTLY in the 104001) Seems like an odd comparison. Run the same electronics in each if you do it please...cuz id REALLY love to get a preview of how my 104001 race build is gonna do. It's coming along, and fast, but the nearest dirt track is 30 miles away so I havent gone yet for a real test.
Wrong tires on the 2wd for that track. Gotta stay out of the dust or throw some pin tires on. Also I'd like to point out the Sweep Cellblocks on that 4wd ebuggy at the beginning there. Very good tire for clay or very high bite conditions.
Such a gentleman letting her win against the race buggy! Lol jk i just ordered my wltoys 10419 too! Only other buggy i have is the losi mini b! I have the xmaxx 8s and rustler 4x4 vxl also! Love this hobby!
