The RoboCNC Optimum BF20L mill is up and running, so time for testing.
In this video I will show the first cuts, and make a 3D skull model.
The great 3D model is supplied to me by Todd Bailey know from :
    www.cncminiprojects.com/
De RoboCNC Optimum BF20L freesmachine draait, dus tijd voor wat testwerk.
In deze video laat ik de eerste freesbewegingen zien en maak ik een 3D schedel.
Dit 3D model werd mij aangeboden door Todd Bailey van:

Trying to find some video,s about a CNC Mill that l i am interested purchasing.Came by your video and even though your machine is small you do a great job, with what you have available.Very good set-up.Love the Robo CNC, splash-back.Thanks for the video. Regards Peter.

Hi Peter.... I share a lot of videos about projects, and conversion / cnc builds. but I do not sell any machines, sorry...

I want to make the same machine from BF20L but I confused with other types of cnc's and routers. Can you explain when you use such geared spindel with belt drive and when hi-rpm spindle with no drawbar? Is it that hi precision can be made only with that all in one little spindles? Is there some limitations to such low rpm spindle as that for blade thickness - is it that it can not machine with super small precision mills? thx.

Hi there.... This CNC machine is called a cnc mill, or a very small VMC (vertical machining center). And is mainly used for smaller parts and harder materials. A Router (you can see in my latest build) is made for softer materials (up to aluminum) and larger areas.
Hi RPM machines are more expensive, and can do faster work. Also the smaller the endmill (like for engraving) a hi rpm is really helpfull to speed up. My BF20 is not geared for very hi rpms, but I would like it. (It has nothing to do with precision though...) and you can do everything with a low rpm spindel, only slower.
A drawbar is usefull to quickly change the endmill.... for 90% of the UA-cam community it's just for fun... There are not much people who gain productivity and money by using a drawbarr :)

RoboCNC Frees- & Graveerwerk oh, thanks a lot for that explanation, I was so confused with this two types of cnc.. I meant drawbar is for rigidity and therefore you can use for example flycut that you can't on router cnc's to flatten better surfaces. I want to use mine all for aluminum and making plastic molding plates, so I was afraid if not as hi rpm is bad for precision because that is crucial for that kind of job. Thanks again)

Yey, I have a new question if you can help.. I saw some videos where ppl adding air bar (or spring cylinder, cant recall the right name), the same way as cars have back door closing mechanism, did you added it, is it for rigidity, can you suggest is it needed? I also looking at BF30 novadays actually, but it strangely have smaller table, havent you seen those, can you suggest is it worth additional money to buy it (its has more weight, more powerful motor and MT3 instead of MT2 as on BF20L)?

how hard was it to upgrade the milling machine I am looking at purchasing a BF-20LV - Opti-Mill Drill Thanks for the video

It's hard to quantify that question.... watch the videos and get some feel for it...
Keep in mind i already had a cnc router to use in making parts..

I don't have the numbers in my head.. But the will be in one of the videos or on the full info link.
      I think it's 480mm in X 175mm in Y and 370mm in Z

+MrCcfly i have no experience with metals like that. But the machine is made for metals, although it is not a very big machine I think there would not be a problem
