This is a walk through of the whole software showing you the retro arcade games, along with a view of bowling, darts, basketball along with many other seriously cool features.
I have personalised this software to match my tastes so what is seen within is not an out of the box experience.
To use this software you need to download New Retro Arcade which you can easily find on Steam, you then also need to download Arcade Manager if you want to customise. If you put in the time this is the final product.
WARNING!:
This video in regards to Emulation is made to encourage you to play your BACKUPS. In other words, THE GAMES WHICH YOU ALREADY OWN!. Please do not emulate any games which you do not already have on any systems which you do not own. Unless of course they are abandon/free-ware due to license or age.
Emulation for me is not about playing games I do not own. It is about playing games on another platform. In fact on my PC/VR setup... not having 200+ consoles set up with 600+ controllers tangled up!
ESPECIALLY, do not sell anything to do with this scene or be stupid enough to buy anything from this scene. Support Developers (especially SEGA) and pay for what you play!

Man this is way cool. If you combined VR with AR, you could probably rig-up a real world joystick onto a table to emulate the controls on the cabinet.
And also for Pinball, making control way easier, and more realistic!
The fact that you managed to load it in VR is an achievement on its own I can NEVER launch it like that
Don’t have nostalgia for the 80’s and 90’s but I love the experience of being in this time where things are very different from how they are now
Be so awsome to have 24/7 arcade like this in the metaverse or whatever. Play with friends and charged real money for VR tokens. Like a quarter for each game.
This really looks amazing! Would be cool, if the big arcade names would put together a VR arcade experience for us, so we wouldn't have to set up all these cabs. But this is very cool! Thanks for sharing this.
Thanks for watching!
this is absolutely incredible. nice job.
Thanks for watching, much appreciated! 🙏
I watched many NRAN reviews and this is probably my favorite one. Very entertaining, passionate delivery, and the message is spot on.
Really appreciate the support. Would love software like this to keep evolving, has so much further potential. Thanks for watching!
Where do you have downloaded this please? It’s AWESOME!!
If only multiplayer worked for the actual arcade games. Thats the biggest drawback. But I still love it and play it regularly. BTW I made my own R-type Cabinet if you're interested.
you missed the secret room,in the vending machine next to the little bowl ball things there is a digital cyber cherries button on the machine, press it and when the vending machine shifts aside it reveals a hidden room and a flight of stairs.
I like this cool arcade. It gives me Wreck It Ralph flashbacks when I saw it.
I liked I subscribed and I truly hope you get you're own arcade. Honestly that would be awesome
Has anything came out like this for Sidequest/quest only/non -pcvr ? I'm itching to set this up but don't have pcvr
Not that I have seen, fingers crossed it can run on next gen headsets!
Is it difficult playing that with the quest controllers? I had a arcade game like that on gearvr and I could use s Bluetooth controller to play the games.
Will it let use a blue tooth controller?
The only thing that would make this better would be multiplayer where your friends could come hang out with you in your arcade and play games and watch videos with you!!
That feature is actually available, you just sadly cannot play the arcade games. It is also horribly fiddly to get working. New Retro Arcade has sooo much potential, I love it, but the copyright complications really make it hard for the developers.
@@VREscape ah man!! Well thanks for the reply! Your video made me get the program hehehe
@@VREscape it would be cool if they had an option to add your own roms for the various games so the individual players can just add their own taking all liability off them.
With arcade manager (add on) you can put in your own roms, it mostly pulls through the arcade machine to match too. It is highly customisable so you can pick from thousands of arcade games. The downside is it is time consuming but highly worth it if retro arcade games is your bag. Thanks for watching mate, appreciated.
@@VREscape in theory… couldn’t they just make knock offs of the original games and consoles? Changing just enough to avoid legal complication? 😅
very cool
Incredible 🤩🤩🤩🤩
Cool game, old arcade games will always be the best games ever.
100% agree, they play so well too.
Is this still available on meta app store?? I cant find any arcade games like that! : (
How do you record gameplay to a single screen?? When I record via Nvidia, it's double screen....
How do you get this on the arcade on the vr
Is this available on the store or through sidequest?
This would be a million times better if they let you use your VR hands to love joystick and push buttons using haptics to indicate the clicks. This would give a much more realistic feeling to go with the VR experience. I hope they do this 🙏
Thanks for tweeting this, Jerry. This was fantastic!
I know right? It is a real shame the devs stepped away from it. It is great as it is but has so much more potential, I think copyright is half the issue. It needs a lot of simplification too so the masses can just install and go.
The closest i fot to that was in Demeo Hero hangout lounge..
Wow soo kool I would have so much fun with that 🙂good idea making that 👍
Hey Shawn, it really is awesome. The effort paid off! Thanks for watching!
Please if anyone knows or can please tell me what the games called
how to get to work with oculus? All I get is HTC Vive controllers but says compatible with Oculus?!?! Cannot turn around etc only limited control??!!? How to select for Oculus??!
Great video!! What type of headset are you using? I was looking at getting a Quest 2 and wondering if it can run this software. Cheers!
Thanks Justin, appreciate the support. Yes it is a quest 2 which works both standalone and on a PC. For this software you will need a PC.
Which app is this
Can u get this on the quest 2 and if so how plz help
Only by running it from a decent spec PC then accessing it via Virtual Desktop on the Quest 2
It's a shame the developers have basically abandoned this software. As amazing as it is, it's worth remembering this was done in like 2016, when VR (as we know it currently) was still coming into itself. I would love to see a fresh take on this concept. There's always EmuVR, but cool as that one is development on that is reaallllllly slow as well. - - Not to take away from the extreme amount of work something like this must take of course.
Still, I wish we could implement something like this into a VRChat world or something, truly make it social. Throw in a way to order IRL pizza without taking off the headset lol.
I wonder if a world like that already exists might have to go dig around later
@@cyanyde4950 I'm not sure you can play the games, but if you haven't found it already there's 77077 Arcade & Bar in VRChat. That is a real labor of love, though it's not as polished as this. Nothing in VRChat really is and generally looks more like 2006 than 2016.
looks awesone mate. where did u get the romset for this? as it does not come with roms/games included
Hey fella, they are actually standard roms. If you google MAME Roms you will find every arcade game going.
@@VREscape do u also have this full romset of your built available for download?
Sadly not Frans, there are legal complications around the usage of ROMS i.e. you need to own the original.... but you can download if you own the game in some form.
I wish this was on quest store, how did you get this ?? Coool games man!
It is, it's selling for $24 change. I'm watching this to see if I want to buy it. I want to check if I have to pay for each of the games or its included
@@chocolateandbooks it's not on Quest it's on Steam. It's a PC title that can be played on a Quest over link.
Sorry to bother but how you managed to record this game correctly? I tried a lot of things to just simply record it in a full view but I didnt had any good results
Hey this is really interesting! I am trying to build something similar to this inspired by your video for a hackathon I have coming up, by chance do you know where I can learn how they managed to build this?
Hey man, thanks for watching. Head over to their discord and chat in their, plenty to get stuck into there.
@@VREscape Absolutely thanks for the great content ! Cool gonna go check it out !! Appreciate it
Sweeeeet!
Pinball?
My kids have been asking me for this, is it easy to set up? We have 3 quests twos, can we all game together?
Do you have a PC? If so then yes all doable but "easy" is debatable. The hardest part is gettimg the game roms and then you configure in setup. There are tutorials online which can help.
@@VREscape Thanks for the reply.
I ended up using a premade set, it was as simple as drag and drop into the content folder. Just a temporary thing though as my kids got impatient. I will do a proper build when I get time.
Great work!! Hope they enjoy it as much as I do! 👊🏼
great job dude
Thanks buddy, appreciate the support.
Pcvr only i assume? I have a quest 2 but not a gaming pc
Afraid so chap, requires some power and emulators to run all the different games. I think this kind of thing is a few years away from standalone headsets. It will happen though.
@CtrlALlTerrorS thanks for the info… but im juts rockin a lenovo 3 14 laptop (i think is the model) and it would surely struggle. Pretty much use it only as a plex server… maybe someday ill upgrade.
"Piracy" smh. Those companies made their money. Long long long time ago they all got paid. If emulation wasn't free nobody would do it. There's nearly 0 value in them trying to make a dime off of their old games. The most they can hope to sell is compilations of arcade classics. But tbh it's not even worth it for them to try to and get the rights to do that when everyone can just play the games that are pushing 50 years old soon. Gimme a break. Piracy is playing something relevant from today. There's a time limit on Mickey Mouse even. One day all things become so old it's no longer piracy it's history. It's public domain.
If I could upload my mind to a computer, I’d want to upload it to this environment. Set it all up, hook the computer up to some atomic batteries so you don’t have to worry about power for a few thousand years, and just chill in your arcade afterlife.
Haha - you know what, I will join you there - get me off this world asap. 😂
Game name?
I'm not really into this VR stuff only that is absoluut something I would love to try myself 😄
Get on it, it is amazing!
Damn, I would pay someone to set this kind of thing up for me. I would love to have this just don't have the time to set this much stuff up :/ someone could make a killing licensing all of these games and selling this as a package
How do you get arcade manager please? All links I have tried on Steam forum don't work! Thanks!
It is on steam but you need to go to the community pages. You will be able to find them.

@@VREscape I tried the Google drive links in there and they aren't the actual files for add-on, just a very small file like 45kb!?
Head to their discord, plenty of people to help you there.

@@VREscape managed to download it in the end, I'm playing on quest 2 via virtual desktop. The touch controllers don't show up, think it shows Vive wands! Do you use virtual desktop or a link cable?
Virtual desktop worked fine for me chap.
must be nice if it plays multiplayer or can play games with friends
Sure is Jing! Super clever stuff. Really wish the creators could expand further on all of that, but as said in my video, super tricky growing this kind of software due to all the copyright complications.
It will be mine,,,oh yes it will be mine.
Wow. Ready Player One (the book) is almost here. How did you do that incredible shot through the window at the start?? Can I ask what kind of steadicam selfie stick you're using? Great vid :)
It really is nearly here! No steadicam, just the power of 360 cameras and a good stick. Thanks for the very kind comment and really appreciate you watching. 😀
@@VREscape well that window shot was pretty stunning. Not often I'm left scratching my head thinking 'how did he do that?' Just a 360 cam? Very impressive (and creative too) keep it up 🙏
Until this is available on a portable VR headset, I can't play it, because I don't have a powerful gaming PC... yet. I would also like to play emuVR. If I had both this game and emuVR, I'd be set.
Highly recommend EMUVR. I think eventually it will come to a portable, sadly mobile platforms just do not have the power yet but it will happen.
Who else is sitting in their real home arcade watching😎 lol
It don't work in WMR, It won't turn.
Great concept but the controllers will be an issue for gameplay, I’m sure
Yeah, the controllers certainly remove you from it a little but i was able to hook up a gaming pad which helped. That said, even with just VR controllers it still works very well to the point i was not even thinking avout it.
@@VREscape nice! I just started a mobile arcade of my own! 7 arcades with EVERY arcade ever made, downloaded
Dude ! use an actual controller or arcade stick...I'd never use vr controllers for retro emulation...
haha i hear you, since then I have sussed out using proper controllers
Let`s be honest a very cool virtual experience in terms of ambience but lousy for actually playing the games properly and you need a decent set of proper arcade joysticks and buttons to do that innit
I`d go for a proper Arcade in a bigger shed myself ............... oh wait ........... I`m already in the process of building that and all the custom machines too ..... heh heh
Yeah very cool. You can setup a joystick, I have not got round to doing that bit yet. Thanks for watching.
Support Sega🤣
Congratulations on being the last person in the world, ever, to discover this nearly 6 year old title. The world's moved on - we're using the superior emuVR for retro gaming now...
Reviewed that too... it is great but lets not pretend it is "superior" They are targeting 2 different things. One is a 80s / 90s arcade and the other is a 90s bedroom. Both are buggy but both are great.
@@VREscape Well, it's superior from a systems and CRT emulation performance standpoint... there is a lot more clever tech in emuVR than there is in NRAN (AND emuVR is, and always will be free). But yes, if you want the nostalgia of an arcade, play NRAN.
