when u squeaked the rubber duck my guinea pigs started squeaking I'm 3 rooms away and I'm just wondering how they heard that lol
" just picture a tiny little human turd" IM DYING😂😂😂😂
cannot wait, i'm getting my hedgie this friday!
Keisha Brooks how's everything going with the hedgehog?
Keisha Brooks did you?? 😄
Emma Sawyer Yeah:)
Andrew Gerstner It's going well, she's still not quite used to being picked up but she doesn't huff anymore and she'd never bitten anyone
Keisha Brooks I'm so happy for u
I'm completely re-doing my hedgehogs cage and I'm so excited.
Can u do a video of where you got your supplies
Yes please I need to know I've bought some and not happy with them help
Some of the items are in the description
WHERE U BUY EM
i’m picking up my 3rd hedgehog this afternoon! yay! (also someone save me from myself...I just keep adopting more)
Catholic Girl where can I buy one
Hannah Wassam find a breeder near you
Where can you adopt them? Also since you adopt them you dont have to pay right?
@@jfloresrodriguez3875 Some stores sell them, but your best bet is a breeder. They are around 150-300 dollars on the hedgehogs alone, but it depends on the state. They're also illegal to own in a few states, so you should check if you can own one in your state.
Wow i just pick them up in the garden for free when they're too underweight to survive winter. Put them back out in the spring. Hedghog hospitals will have free hogs for adoption. Theyre often overloaded from November and injured ones my not be able to go back into the wild.
I have bought a hedgie plushie and put it in my hedgehog cage so he won't feel alone ( he was used to be in a cage with his brothers) and he snuggles on it when he sleeps! Still a helpful video because now I know what was messing!

2. They arent meant to be in contact with soft toys

my hedgehog cage is hedgehog themed because I'm so original lol
Did anyone else read the description and actually make popcorn?
You have been a life saver I did not have a clue how to care for these little guys you are so awesome at giving advice to people who don't know about caring for these little pigs.❤️😍
i'm so excited for my new hedgie, but i haven't even chosen a hedgehog to adopt and I'm scared to get supplies they won't like.
Reacis Peiciz some breeders won't let u have the hedgehog unless u have everything set up
Reacis Peiciz I really want one for Christmas I've been looking at every video for a month 😂
Reacis Peiciz they will truly appreciate any toys you put in there they are not fussy
Adrian Verhalen maybe you aren't cut out to have a pet because they prefer some things

"They don't do good with the poop but they doodoo with the pee" lol she said doodoo
Has anyone else noticed the irony in having hedgies cage below an owl....good thing they cant see well!😂
I'm eating popcorn now! read description
thanks for the the feed back
This video was so incredibally helpful for me and my other half. We are in the process of getting a African Pygmy Hedgehog(We are on the list for the next batch of hoglettes) and we just wanted to make sure we get everything right so we have a happy little hog.
I used a 100 gallon aquarium for my 2 hedge hogs. I put alot of hiding places for them but they loved to snuggle together in a hollowed out half log.
thanks you helped me improve my hedgehogs care

I’m getting my hedgehog in 3 weeks! Omg I’m so exitedddd
So informational!! Thank you!! 👍🏼
my daughter also made a carry on bag.
When you use the strips of fleece can you pile it up inside an igloo for them to burrow in thile in there or does it have to be in the mesh laundry bag?
THANK YOU SOOO MUCH, VERY HELPFUL LOVE YOU!!!!😊
Tori, I want to thank you so much my dad is maybe letting me get my dream pet a hedgehog and my dad said the only thing is it has to be a boy and be named sonic 🙄... but I want to say thanks for letting me know all the info I need so I can become a hedgehog mom! 🦔🦔
this is verry inportent for me. i am getting a Hedgehog soon.
so thank you verry much!!!!!!
Today I'm getting my pet hedge hog I'm so excited ❤️️❤️️
Cheerchanger 2005 I get mine in 2 weeks and my still going to be 7 weeks I can't wait
Very useful video, thank you. I don’t think my hedgie needs any heat lamp. He lives in the caribbean a normal day here can be over 100*F of course inside the house it’s usually in the high 70s. It’ll never drop below 73 in the winter and it’s almost impossible that it will reach 69. He never burries entirely, so I know he’s not feeling cold. Again thanks for your vides I enjoy them very much.
How long can you leave a hedgehog alone? If you can't leave them alone for a long time I don't know what to do when I go on vacation. If I get a pet sitter, do they have to let the hedgehog out or just bond and feed with the hedgehog?
get a pet sitter that will blond with them. you don't want them to get hard to handle. when it comes to Hegies you need to try every night take them out & play with them. also try leaving your old shirts that smell like you to your hegie as a blanket so they continue to have memmory of your smell. & make sure the pet sitter changes the shirts every night
I just what to say thank you for all the videos the tell thangs about hedgehogs and if it wasn't for you I wouldn't be getting one I can't wait until next month eee

OMG IM SUPER EXITING IM GETTING A BABY GIRL HEADGIE IM SO EXCITED AHHHH! ITS MY DREAM PET REEE💖💖
If I have a fan on in my room at night and it gets a bit chilly does a hedgehog still need any heat source even with a lot of bedding and hides? It’s going to be in a 200qt bin cage so the walls will be solid and it will go on a storage rack in my room so there will be a few inches above it until the other bin on the other rack, so there’s enough room for ventilation but I’m not sure if there would really be a draft consisting but I do keep my room pretty cool. I will pile up Kaytee or carefresh on the one side though?
In your description you mentioned the Silent Spinner wheel must be modified. How does it have to be modified? Thanks
this SO helpfull i love your videos thanks for share it with us
+Elena Aguilar Glad I could help! Thanks for watching! :D
This was soooooo helpful 😁
Thank you this helped a lot
I have a portable cage it is little.but I only use it for a day or two the longest time I had used it was a week when my parents went outa town
Thanks very helpful!!!
thank you
I’m getting my little baby in July, I bought a two story cage for him the other day but after seeing this I hope he will like it and I will definitely be putting something on the side of the ramp. Does anyone have any suggestions of what I should put on the sides?
Thank you so much

1. Hedgehogs like sand but they are fine with blankets
2. They don't 'hate' light
3. False, hedgehogs have tons of personality
4. Hedgehogs NEED wheels, they can run at 12 mph
5. You are just accusing her at this point
:/
Can I use a fourty gallon tank as long as I use fleece and keep the room nice and not humid? That way there won't be moisture in the cage. This isn't my first pet but I want to be sure
Hi. Would a setup of a 3.93 foot by 1.64 foot vivarium with perhaps extra vents (the bottom sealed with safe sealant) and a ceramit heat emitter on a pulse thermostat at 23-24oc on the hot side and 21 on the cool measured by digital thermometers be ok?
I'm thinking this setup with puppy pads topped with a fleece liner (purpose made with no threads) and 1 litter box with wood pellet litter or aspen in underneath the wheel (a carolina storm wheel) and another litter box in another corner filled with aspen or pellets (boxes low enough to be accessible), with a snuggle sack and covered plastic igloo for sleeping and a small ramekin bowl for food be ok? Possibly a soft fleece tunnel or wooden tunnel as well and lots of safe to use cat balls and toys (not to be catching little hedgie feet).
I am thinking a heavy but small ceramic bowl for drinking as i've heard bad things about water bottles.
Awesome VID
AHHHHH cuteness overdose haha also I love you
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS! SO INCREDIBLY HELPFUL! We're did you get your carry bags? I couldn't quite understand the company name. Are they on Etsy? Or do they have there own websites?
@pugpibblehedgie Can u use a low container with a paper towel infront of the wheel?
Are corn cob bedding okay for them? I use is for little box and little box under the wheel?

Can you put the snuggle sag igloo cover snuggle cup and cave go in the wash too?

I couldn't help but notice that you use pine bedding in your litter tray....I remember reading somewhere that your not soused to use pine or cedar bedding because its not good for the hogs. Is there a difference between litter and bedding?
+daniela jae There is. :) The main difference is the drying process. Kiln dried pine is perfectly safe for hedgehogs and is used very frequently in litter trays to keep odors down. Regular pine and any kind of cedar bedding are not safe.
Here in Holland the minimum for the cage is 120 x 50x 50 cm in Germany even 150 x 50 x 50 cm .
Hey, may I ask something? What usually hedge weight around 3months?
Is it okay to use a regular light on top of the cage just to provide light not for heat or anything?
If i were to use fleece strips for my hedgehog's bedding, would I be able to reuse the bedding by regularly washing it? Would I need to do anything extra to disinfect the bedding? How long would you say fleece strips last as bedding?
Thank you for all the useful information you have provided! I really appreciate being able to watch your videos and learn so much more about hedgehogs from an experienced owner!
You can wash fleece strips in linen bags in the washer with Free & Clear detergent. Vinegar is good for sanitizing and odor control, I add about a cup per load.
Do you think some olive or canola oil mixed with some water in a squirt bottle would work for hedgie dry skin? Obviously would have to shake it up every time before use, but I would think it would help distribute it a little better than just trying to rub straight oil on them, just have to let them dry afterwards right? Or would they need another bath afterward?
+Nour-Al-Hayah Mohamed In theory it would work, but you'd need to be sure to use distilled water and not tap to prevent any unwanted bacteria growth.
I'd also be worried about them being a little too greasy afterward - the benefit of using the oils in the bath is that if they have too much on them they can be rinsed off a little. So I would use a very light hand if you plan on trying it :)
You can also invest in moisturizing sprays if making your own doesn't work out. Humilac has been discontinued but Brisky's Spine n Shine is still available as far as I know.
You could always get oatmeal bath.
Can you adorn your Hedgehog cage with live plants, also can they be liter trained.
Hi! This video was super informative! I have a question. Is it okay to use Boxo Comfort Bedding? Thanks.
+Claire Rosa Yes, it is okay :)
Ok thank you!
Is VitaGlow good? Its from a exotic pet supply store.
Just got my second baby on the 19 th of dec :) I love my babies
Hi, I’m planning to get a hedgehog soon. Are pine shavings better or fleece bedding (like the one you have in your video) better? Pros? Cons?
I know this is old but NEVER use pine or cedar it will cause respiratory infections
Hi, I’m getting a hedgehog in December (currently on a waitlist for a breeder) and I live right by train tracks, would this be okay for hedgehogs since they have sensitive hearing and are skittish? Would they adapt over time?
kimmy they would adapt to it over time :)
No I don’t think they would they don’t see well so hearing is one of there only senses Also it would elongate your bonding process extreme
My hamster just crawled all over my phone and now I am subscribed to you so... lol ok I guess
Slytherin 😍 Love Draco
Hopefully getting my hedgehog Thursday :)
Where do you get the fleece bags at?
if i get a wheel, do they have to look like that? i was thinking about something more like a hamster wheel for a hedgehog im getting
I cut open a box and put worm fleese around is that ok
Can you tape the bottom inside the wheel and when it's to messy you take it off then replace it
my cage comes with an area underneath the elevation, should i still put a bed in there?
can I use just normal olive oil that u can cook with(asking because I couldn't find any special oils)
Please Reply. Hi PugPibbleHedgie! I know this is off topic on this video but I need to know about your hamsters cage , The additional floor / platform you made out of Lolly / Popsticle sticks. Did you use Non toxic clue and does your Hamster chew on it alot? Thanks for reading :)
Izaak - IzaakFx I used non toxic hot glue. My hamster hasn't bothered it at all, but if your hamster is a chewer, I'd recommend non toxic childrens school glue, or a flour and water paste :)
Ok thank you :) Is it the same for paint?
For the paint I used a pet safe soy based paint, but the non toxic children's works as well! (:
I've gotta say, my son put an old t-shirt of his into our hedgie's cage so he will get more used to his smell, and it's sonics favorite of anything else in his cage.
Are the pine pellets also horse bedding pellets?
I live with my mom and my dad
I'm with my mom for half the week but while I'm gone my dad can take care of her but will she get bonding issues with me?, should I take her with me And make a cage at my moms house? Or should I come by every day after school while I'm with my mom to see her for a little while every day
can u plzzz tell me what you said about those snuggle sacks of etsy or the person u for it from, ik i said it in the. idea but idk how to spell it.
alright, i have a hedgehog and i LOVE your videos and i want to change to a bowl instead of a bottle(i heard they break teeth and their tounges can get stuck😷😷) what kind of bowl should i get?? and where did you get your snuggle sacks??
I recommend the Living World Ergonomic bowl, I love it. But any bowl that isn't too big, and is heavy enough not to be tipped, works well :)
Tongues can only get caught in water bottles that are spring loaded, which aren't safe for any animals.
And as for snuggle sacks and such, I have a cosy collection video you can check out with the link to every store I shop at :) The link to the video is in the description.
+PugPibbleHedgie
Thank you so much!!!!!!
Getting my hedgehog tommorow! EEK
Where did you get your cage at? And what kind is it again?
I love your videos. Were did u go?
Where did you order the teal blue carrier bag?
How would I know when my hedgehogs skin is dry I’m planning to get one soon :D
I have a hedgie that I'm hoping will come out of his shell (so to speak) soon. My question is do you leave the light on at night or during the day?
They need light during the day and complete darkness at night.
If you buy a liner for the wheel do u have to wash it every day as well like the wheel?

my new hedgie slipped into the clothing i left for her to associate my smell and stopped moving all together. i checked if she's alive or not occasionally, she's alive but barely moving even at night. from my research i learned that i shouldn't mess with them for at least 2 or 3 days but i'm very worried about her, how can i tell if she's attempting hibernation or going through wobbly hedgehog syndrome without alerting her? :(
it's about 22 to 24 degree celsius which is about 71 to 75 fahrenheit here
+Justino “d_nope” Prado Hedgehogs definitely do not need to be left alone for multiple days when they come home. You should start bonding immediately.
Wobbly Hedgehog Syndrome is a slow progressing neurological disease similar to MS is humans. I highly doubt that is her issue.
It sounds much more likely that she is too cold. You need to pick her up and feel her belly. If it is cold, you need to hold her to your skin under some blankets to warm her up gently. Do not put her on a heating pad or in warm water, as you'll shock her system. Skin-to-skin contact is the best way to warm her back up.
Do you have a heat setup for her? 71°-75°F is the low end of their spectrum, and many hedgehogs need 75°-80° to prevent hibernation attempts.
She's pretty much stuck to my one sweatshirt's sleeve, very difficult to interact with her through skin (she's the shy type) Is it normal for hedgies to not make any sound while sleeping in their hideout? Mine doesn't which is very concerning.
I'm currently running a heater in my living room, it's about 75 °F atm. I do have a heating pad but I have no idea how to use it, I slipped it under my severed sleeve but removed it immediately after reading about shocking her system like you mentioned.
Should I invest in one of those heat setup from one of your videos? I live in Macau which is fairly warm starting from spring with around temperatures around 71°-73 °F outside...very conflicted atm :(
PS The heating pad itself is designed for reptiles but from what I got from the shop owner, it works just as well for hedgies.
How do you wash the fleece for their bedding?
