I have one too and if I’m shooting moving subjects in street with a fairly low lighting and using wide aperture, I almost always miss my shots due to my camera taking 3 business days to focus. I don’t know if it’s my lense or the camera itself. Frustrating

I might also install the hack that brings up the white focus points, but someone was asking me not to connect the camera to PC, to avid any issues camera might have. Would you confirm it's safe, to connect and install stuff like CineStyle profile and all? Im sure the apps are safe, but the idea of connecting to PC

Yeah, I’d agree. For stills I think the auto focus is decent, but moving to video is really where it can struggle. In those cases, it’s manual focus for me, lol

Thanks! Magic Lantern on the 60D doesn't really make the auto focus better, but it gives you better focus tools like focus peaking and magic zoom that make getting good focus so much easier. Hope that helps!
I have this old canon 60D and I'm planning to use this for travel vlog.. But this auto focus is bothering me.. i think manual focusing is really a hassle for travel vlog, do you think i can still get a good video with 60D? What advise can you give? Thanks
Hey, I totally get you on manual focus being a hassle when you're trying to vlog. Yeah, the autofocus is not good on the 60D, I don't really even use it. I do believe it is possible to vlog on the 60D and get some good results. I actually recently just did a vid about that exact question, you should check it out. I think the biggest thing I'd say for vlogging with the 60D is using a wide angle lens and making sure you are not shooting super wide open. Hey man, I would totally say go for camera. Even if the autofocus doesn't work on the lens you can still get good results using manual focus. And yeah, a cheap but good lens to pickup alongside the camera would be the 50mm.

Hello! I don't think you can get a new 60D in 2020, but I'm sure you can get a great deal on a lightly used one. I've seen lots of people selling their old 60D with a couple lenses for pretty cheap, which can be a great deal if you are able to snag one!
I just bought a 60d from the pawn shop to upgrade from my rebel t6. I shoot music videos and basically i wasn’t good when I started out shooting in manual focus, and I’m still not... but it’s ok because I made my signature style racking focus on performances. It works for me and adds energy 😂📸🤷🏼♂️ 📲 search my #93FAM 🔛 any social media site or search bar to find my videos
Yeah, for certain types of video the 60D isn't the strongest, but overall I still think it's a good camera and that you can get some great results with it.

Glad I found this video. I still use my 60D today for video. Usually as a B cam but it still works fine.

Yeah focus peaking definitely helps a ton with video work. Hopefully these tips can help you get better focus out of your camera.

Auto focus is great with Ef-s lenses. Prime lenses do take awhile auto focus in live view mode.
I have canon 60d worst experience in automation system I waste my money in investing on this product. Thank you for great information.

The max time you can record video with the 60d is 30mins. That is pretty standard for most dslr cameras. Hope this helps!

I thought it was just me, 60D is not the best tool for video because of its autofocus, low light performance, and IBIS, verified!
