Nolly played bass on this track, and tracked the guitar lead bit in the chorus because his bends are perfection, but i played everything else. The reason the Bulb version is not as "smooth" is because it is a demo haha. - misha
Mmmmm Nolly
Nolly was the best Periphery’s guitarist
"Rejoice aloud, let these words imbueYEOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW"
10/10 transition
This song is painfully good
Not at all, it was because we wanted to give musicians who wanted to pick apart the songs an easy way to learn, but we have something else planned for that this time around.
AS WE REDUCE THEM ALL TO BONES!!!!
Earth Suddenly Duplicates And Blows Up Simultaneously!
I really believe in rock music! And I think these dudes are likely to make it big!

Drew Ellis It's called fucking metal
holy shit how did you manage to get *TWO* bot accounts to post bot comments in your replies hahaha
one of the best riffs in metal history.
Black Sabbath has the best riffs in Metal, this band (alongside many other bands) has great riffs in Metal
@@falken2089 okay boomer
@@zacredington4776 What?
@@zacredington4776 kinda unnecessary lol
@@zacredington4776 it's just an opinion my guy.
Periphery is the kind of band that makes you appreciate all kinds of music more.
Love the saw-sounding palm-muted G# riffs at 1:02 !!!
Clunk clunk clunk
That's djent!
Spencer is an awesome vocalist in my opinion. I personally don't understand why so many dislike him. It's rare you get such a dynamic, versatile, talented singer, especially in a metal band.
It's just another incredible thing to add to a truly impressive band who's future looks so promising.
Funny thing is, Corey Taylor is Spencer's biggest influence vocally. I can totally hear it in his screaming, and it is an awesome thing!
Spencer's versatility on this song is nothing short of incredible, it's got me looking forward to Periphery II. I'm really happy that you guys put out JWY 2.0, it seems to have drawn in a lot of new fans, which has hopefully put you in a position to carry on doing what you're doing, but I do find myself not reading comments any more because it feels like I've read it all before and none of it resonates with me. At the end of the day, you guys are inspirational and I'll be here for the long haul!
We could do that or we could spend that time writing new material!
Just no more stuff about anti-Christianity, Thor, and Odin, please
-Your beloved Christian listener and consumer
@@speediablo little late on that one lol, and they're not anti-christianity (as a christian)
@@asherkolars1283 Lol, idk, I didn’t add any of the songs of the new album because of the lyrics, however. I usually don’t like bands talking about religion unless it was part of their roots because when a band randomly starts becoming religious about something, it can disappoint a lot of fans.
@@speediablo I mean, It's only smiles, garden in the bones, follow your ghost, and satellites are some songs of that album that are religion free. idk it's your choice
@@speediablo I mean there's nothing anti-Christian about their message lol. The only semi anti-religious song is "The Gods Must Be Crazy"
1:46 is just monstrous. The underlying note in contracts to the leads are so stimulating.
So much groove :O
his voice has also gotten stronger though. listen to those screams or the agression he adds to some of the cleans
THIS IS SO FUCKING GROOVY
the ambient skills are what really fucken standout to me..love that shit
1:46 = Falcon Punch
I love you guys. Your music is incredible and alot of different emotions especially your new material but this will always be one of my favorites by you guys.
0.75 speed. Make Total Groove.
How do you guys NOT like this ?!!!
Here's the thing: if your a nice person, you know, saying high to everyone, always happy/smiling, or the shy quiet type who never does any of that, and you tell people you like this kind of music, they'll look at u as if you have wings and 2 heads. Who agrees with me?
I'd love to have wings and two heads to be honest
High everyone
I'll take the wings but I feel like having two heads would suck.
awesome so glad this song has been watered down for the masses
1:46 - 2:00 = MESHUGGAH!!! \M/
Spence did an amazing job writing the context of these vocals. Love the message.
I love this new wave of prog metal!
it's called Djent
cool!
Johndude welcome to the new age my friend!
thall Yet your username is "Thall." How ironic
thall No, I have better things to do
everytime i hear something new in this song. love it
I don't think this song's a good choice as an alarm clock
You're absolutely right. Blood Eagle is a much better choice
Been there, done that. For over a year
Spencer's voice was incredible!!
1:46 jizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Sponce is gonna own all with this album when it gets out!!!!! This and Passanger are just SAVAGE!!!! :D
I'm having a really hard time finding a Periphery song I don't like.
im so glad someone else understand periphery. they are probably the best band at what they do. ian you have the best description of them. and the djent noises are hard as fuck to play, sick ass rythm.
I get one drum fill.
wow his screams have improved and the lyrics seems to jive in the melody of the song this time, I want this album NOW
I stopped reading youtube comments for about a year, and i just scrolled down after hearing one of the most fucking brutal songs and I have no idea what the fuck any of you are talking about. Think only one thing, this music is fucking awesome
It seems to me that with every album that they release, they get closer and closer to their niche as far as vocals are concerned. Their actual music is what keeps me going with them, but I've never really minded the vocals, I'm just really happy that they are getting closer, and this album seems like a huge step in the right direction.
Reverse what's lost, wake the song within you~
Rejoice out loud, let these words imbue~!
This song fills me with hope and anger at the same time.
Absolutely amazing.
I LOVE 2:14 it's so unique to metal but it totally fits the song and the style of Periphery. I'm so glad I came around and gave this band a chance. For me, it used to be instrumental djent or none at all but I finally took a listen to Periphery and my only regret is not listening sooner. I love this band and can't wait to get their new CD!!!
for real...spencer is in his best right now...the screams just make me wanna bang my head to the wall...like a huge Sasquatch just slapped me...thats how heavy his screams are now
I never gave a shit about spencers vocals until now, and they've become my favorite part of periphery. Hope this is what the rest of the album is like
Spencer, you're the fucking man for writing these lyrics. I respect you immensely.
I love the way Spencer grunts after screaming at 1:41. Sounds angry and real wich makes the lyrics and the emotion put in them so amazing.
I do myself enjoy Spencers voice! Alot but I would also like an updated instromental of this song! Because Bulb (Mishas) Make Total Destroy. MADE ME SOO HAPPY!
Djent is used to describe a certain kind of guitar tone characterized by medium-high gain, a quick-release noise gate to emphasize staccato playing
This is just really impressive all the way around...getting a little groove to it.
He also sounds the like guy from Corelia. Another great singer in a great band. If you have yet to hear them, check out the some "Treetops".
Indeed, and you have an excellent point. Most of what I type is the product of shallow thought, mainly because I feel that some people need to have a word put in about what they say, but I don't care enough to 'argue' with the person. But you have a superb point. Also, I'm also American, I just spend too much time out of the states to really consider it a home.
Spencer's vocals are improving so much.
i just wish them the best!!! maybe one day i can see them live..
Man, Periphery and Protest The Hero will be remembered as the bands that saved this century.
Spencer sounds awesome. It all sounds awesome.
I truly love this song..
I find it to be quite organised, the break near the end gives some room and Matt's drumming ties everything together IMO, I mean, the song is called "Make Total Destroy" so, you know, a clusterfuck is to be expected XD.
for the first album, yes, there is an instrumental. For this album, they're not putting out an instrumental, but they're working on something for those who want it.
This next album is seriously going to be some of the best music ever written. Can't fricken wait.
Just amazing, Periphery is my fav band, and IM NOT the only one
Spencer's vocals at 1:20 - sounds like someone's been taking lessons from Rody Walker, that whole section is SOOO funky! I love it!
Damn, the vocals improved and this song turned out being waaaaaaay better than I imagined.
I wish they would release an instrumental album...I do feel spencers vocals has improved, but i always like to be able to hear just the instruments and playing styles used in the song. You hear better detail when vocals are not layered on it. I would gladly buy both versions, and would listen to both, probably the vocal version more. I did the same with Ever Forthright, bought the instrumental to hear the jazz lines clearer, and the regular album to sing along.
I loved that song! It's beast, and wicked in the same time!
Music for the revolution.
Exactly bro. On my 25th listen and loving it.
badass grooves in this track
I'm listening to it 20 times a days since it was released.
I am truly excite.
Holy JEEZ! His screaming vocals have gotten 100 times better :D
agreed. I dont read too many comments on youtube since its a waste of time. I thank god for being a musician who plays from the heart therefore I dont talk down on any other musicians.
This song kicks ass. And so does this band
Wow. This song has effectively blew my mind into a million little jelly like pieces. Spencers vocals have improved a shitload.
Saw periphery at summer slaugher yesterday pretty cool
This yan has djent flowing from it's ears lads!!!!!!!! Liking it
I don't really know what it's used for. I just watched "Sponce Tracking Vocals for The New Album" video and they said he won't use any pitch correction, so he's obviously used it before. His voice sounds more vibrant and expressive on this album, which I really like.
And just so you know i'm not hating on them for using pitch correction theyre my favourite band.
I don't dislike spencer's vocals, I think he is an amazing singer. It is incredible that he can hit all of the notes he can. That being said, many fans of this genre love instrumental music, such as myself. For this particular type of music, I feel like his vocals can get in the way. The only way I would ever buy Periphery II is if they released an instrumental version, which they won't.
Good tunes right here.
I envy you guys with that so much time in your hands to create this wall of text...
PURE RIFFERY = GENIOUS
I am loving all natural Spencer! Excited for the new album!
this gets more relevant with every passing month these days
Spence's new melodies remind me a lot of Protest the Hero.
There is nothing wrong with spending days on some thing you enjoy and can use for your future.
Brutality this, brutality that... Music isn't about brutality. It's about emotion, expression, and beauty. And this is pretty fucking beautiful to me.
this was posted as an instrumental well after the release of the first album (Periphery as a project has been around since 2004 anyway). but bulb said he wrote it for his old project a while back. so you're both right.
Vocals are amazing.
Sooooo many ghost notteesss! I dont think there has been a 16th note left un-smacked in this song!
idk if im the only one, but even though his cleans are different, i like them just as much as the first album. some of his cleans sound more like rody from pth now :) im a big protest the hero fan so i think its sweet, can't wait til the album is out!
Compared to how Spencer sounded on the last record, he has improved 10-fold from what I've heard from the samples of the new record. Definitely will be buying the new album when it drops or I end up preordering it.
His vocals sounds different but not bad. I like it.
That ending riff flows so fucking nice.
This band has had clean vocals since the beginning. They were at the beginning of the djent movement.
I actually am a fan of the vocals on this song, and if the rest of the album has as strong vocals as this one I'm totally stoked to hear Spence's output.
Periphery has been releasing tracks since like 2005-2006. There is "older" Periphery than the one album they've released.
Album of the year, i am already claiming it
Its like the new Periphery album is all Bulbs past Instrumentals re-recorded with vocals. Everyone in the band has improved 100%. Good shit boys!
i posted them on the first lyric site that pops up when you google "periphery lyrics" but they haven't updated them yet.
But if you scroll through the comments on here, i posted them here too.
Everytime I listen to this song I get sooooooooo pumped for summer slaughter!!!!!! Cant wait to jitterbug to some djent!!!
Holy fuck! That opening growl was just fucking glorious. Im sold.
I'm not biased at all in any way with this band or album as far as reading other people's comments below, because I have not read them yet, but I would just like to say that I recently heard of Periphery in the last month or so, and being a huge fan of progressive, technical, and melodic metal, fell in love with the first album that a good friend gave to me and told me to give it a try. So glad I did. Anyway, just want to say I am EXTREMELY excited about this new album and have very high hopes
there ya go. it's metal to me, no matter what. i mostly enjoy 80s metal but periphery kicks ass.
Key of Geebs reminded me this song exists and I couldn't be happier
