In the Marvel vs series, I was pretty sure if you spun the dpad/joystick as much as you could, Zangief would turn red on the final piledriver. I wonder how much more damage it did.
In a series where we have people throwing energy from their hands, a man than can stretch his limbs teleport and breath fire, a green beast that can produce electricity, a sumo wrestler who can fly and a shape shifting monster, a muscle man jumping 10 to 30 feet in the air is almost normal. I don't know what I love more, the versions where he does the spinebreaker over the knee, how gorgeous the SF6 version looks, or just watching Zangief do his piledriver on opponents his size or the elite few that are bigger.
The CA from SF6 is easily his best super. It fits Gief's persons as a wrestler the best. Oh, and the english lines are ten times better than the Japanese ones.
@@mappybc6097 The SF6 version of Gief enhanced his character by enhancing his wrestling style, something that wasnt attempted before, since SF devs were used to simply recycle the basic SF2 concept of his character (same for other veterans too). Only recently they are allowing themselves to try new things and evolve SF veterans.

Just imagine the first hit, Gief slams his wrist across your neck, choking you, and then slams you with so much power on your neck your head explodes, or your whole body... Such an incredible CA. The shockwave is what really sells it.
Hadouken, Shoryuken, Scorpion Spear, Power Wave, Devil's Laser Beam are all legendary special moves, but nothing is more satisfying than hit a SPD!!! This is the number one for me.
That last part in sf6 the critical arts when at red health is definitely like gonna bury the opponent after spinning up so high that it should do with a special finish K.O. like from sfv though.
SF6 to me is the best the move ever looks and the CA version is a guaranteed match killer in the right hands. That’s what puts this version above all others.
00:41 The console versions of the "The Movie" game were actually developed by Capcom, and have a genuine SF game feel, unlike the Arcade one. The only thing the Arcade version does better are the digitized characters and how they look against the backgrounds. I love that it was a part of the actors' contracts to provide their likenesses for the game, even if some of them do a pretty poor job at posing. Van Damme's frames look awesome, though. Raul Julia, of course, was not able to do it, which is why Bison feels like an impostor during a lot of the frames.
The fact that every opponent regardless of just getting smashed to the ground from 100ft in the air gets right back up like they just like they just landed on a high quality pillow top mattress, needs to be thoroughly investigated 🤦🏿♂️
Fun fact: Zangief created this move when he was wrestling a bear and both him and the bear got caught in a cyclone.

If you spin the joystick in the versus games, Zangief will turn beet red during the FAB and it does more damage.
