The Hantek 2D72 is a 3 in 1 measurement tool that combines an oscilloscope, a digital multimeter and a signal generator. This tool has been in our radar for a while. We finally got it and we’ll review it in this article. Here's a quick overview:
- Dual Channel Oscilloscope: bandwidth of 70MHz or 40MHz;
- Digital Multimeter: 4000 counts, voltage, current, resistance, diode, capacitors, on/off test;
- Waveform generator: sine, square, triangle, trapezoidal and other waveforms up to 25MHz.
This tool is powered using rechargeable batteries and it doesn't occupy much space, so it is really useful for work on the field. Additionally, it can also be a great addition to your electronics lab because you can have all those functions (multimeter, oscilloscope and function generator) on a single tool.

great video man , but please put more detail
Very concise and helpful video.
The battery also run down fast.
It is also very heavy, bulky and thick
The DMM can be bigger
Thank you; straight to the point review.
OK review. The probes are not good. The overall performance is "sluggish" compared to a name band portable scope, but it's ok for occaisional use.
Thank you Sir......v informative vedio....

Wow... I need it
How long for does is display a static waveform after the input signal is removed?
Also: can the waveforms captured by the device be transferred to a computer via usb cable or a usb drive or memory card?
It uses the Hantek 2000 application on the PC, which mimics all the features on the FP of the scope. You can save data on the PC from that app. No sd card.
Can we get a higher amplitude signal such as 50 V amplitude signal with the oscilloscope in some other way like 10:1 probe?
Yeah the oscilloscope have a probe with 1x and 10x slide button. You can see that in the begining of the video
Dose any module have two outputs functions generator
Can one use the function generator and the scope at the same time?
yes, I set a wave form first, then use the scope function to show that
That's my doubt too. Thanks to ask (and thanks to answer, lol).
You connect the waveform generator output to a scope input - the are separate connectors. You will need to set the waveform up, the switch to "Scope" mode to see the wavform.
But is it any good for electronics work...like soft components like smd and above
Can it be used like a DSO and transfer data to a computer? Can the time base be slowed way down to collect and store data over hours?
It uses the Hantek 2000 application on the PC, which mimics all the features on the FP of the scope. You can save data on the PC from that app. No sd card. You can save large amounts of data on the PC app.
My DMM probes were trash. The tips didnt make good contact. I tried the most silly test with touching the tips together while on beeper mode. And they were going crazy. I put some generic probes from another multimeter and they worked - beeped stable and constantly. It looks like the tips of the dmm probes have bad coating on them and they dont make good contact
Best to replace all the probes with $10 ones from Amazon.
I bought the 2C72 model, I am satisfied for oscilloscope
CAUTION Small fault: diode function could not test a LED, only diode !
Isn't the scope capable of all of this?
Yes, that and more.
Does it have a math function?
It can meaure frequency and widths. Nothing between channels, but a lot of extra stuff is there if you use the PC app.
The screen brightness looks weak thou
It's bright enough
It's very usable, and the backlight is afjustable.
Yea the screen look kinda small
It's about 3 inches and plenty for most apps. You can scroll through the capture buffer like a real scope. Have you see the screen on a Picoscope - now that's a small screen. And their 70Mhz scope if $500+
