In this video i make a wooden rollerball pen out of 48 layers of wood veneer. i alternated walnut and maple veneers and glued them up into a chunk 48 layers thick that i turned into a pen blank. from there i drilled a hole through the center and proceeded to glue in the brass tube for the pen. After letting the glue dry, i mounted it on the lathe, shaped, sanded and finished it, and then assembled the pen using my pen press. after that, i showcase several bloopers and silly things i did while the camera was rolling. enjoy!!

Have you ever seen a video of a mama girraff kicking the sawdust out of a lion that tried to eat the baby girraff? It doesn't end well for the lion. I LOVED the broom for glue spreading!!

That's a damn nice pen! I've got a bunch of veneer laying around like a bunch of lazy sod. Going to have to put them to work now! *EDIT* quick note, this video comes up as the Keychain Display with Scroll Saw lettering. Not sure if you've already fixed it or even know it's doing it so figured I'd let ya know :)
Thanks for commenting! This veneer pen blank has given me loads of ideas for blanks incorporating similar designs in the future, and I'm excited to see what I can come up with!

Agreed! The real question is, will I get a sawstop in time to save myself from this impending doom? Or shall I have a hand similar to that one guy from Paraguay?
