Beautiful envelopes!!! When my coffee maker didn't work anymore I did keep the coffee filters. My new coffee maker doesn't need coffee filters so I have a use for the ones I saved.

Miss Valeria thank you for sharing this idea. This is absolute the greatest idea for used coffee filters. I let my used coffee grounds stay on the filters and I spread the filter on a flat surface like a cookie sheet and spread the coffee grounds all over the filter let it dry for a few days, then I rinse them off and leave them to dry. What a great project, easy to do with great results! Awhile back I had gel printed some coffee filters and used them in various projects, but luckily I had two left so I followed your excellent instructions, and now I have two nice envelopes. Thanks so much 😊

I'm wondering if it might be easier in the long run to do the stamping and adding the napkin to the coffee filter before making it into an envelope... Just pondering. I. think I'll give it a try!! What a fun project. Thank you!

You certainly could do the stamping and decorating before the folding and gluing, but I like doing it afterwards because it helps with precise placement, eliminates the problem of upside-down elements and text, and cuts down the bulk which keeps these little envelopes nice and flat😉

TFS. Those are so nice! What do you think about putting a layer or two of Mod Podge on the coffee filter, and then letting it dry, before starting to make these? I'm also thinking that using natural/unbleached coffee filters might be a great starting point for this particular purpose.

I find them at yard sales, Marshall’s, Home Goods, World Market, TJ Maxx, etc. Quite often, the napkins are seasonal, so right now (in the spring) is a great time to looks for all the pretty floral ones, as they can be used for projects all year round! 😉Also, Amazon always has lots of options 😊 Happy crafting, my friend! 🤗🌺

How do you coffee dye your coffee filter? Do you submerge the filter into a cup of coffee & then using your hands press the wet coffee filter flat to dry?
Hi Peggy! I usually dye my coffee filters along with all my papers, doilies, etc. I make concentrated instant coffee, cool it, poor coffee into an aluminum baking pan. Put my papers in. Let them sit for a few minutes. Take out filters one by one and set them out on a vinyl or plastic tablecloth outside on a sunny day. Smooth them out gently as they will be fragile while wet. As they are drying, I may add a splash or a few drops of coffee on top, just to add a nice pattern. Once dry, you can iron your filters with a warm iron (if needed). Hope this helps!
