My admiration for Josh grows daily. A brilliant player but also just seems like the most genuine, salt of the earth kind of guy. What an incredible chat - two stupendous musicians from literally opposite ends of the music genre spectrum. Yet rather than waste time focusing on the differences, these two guys focus on their shared commonalty of their love of music and creation. Gee, if only the entire world could be more like this... I definitely lean more towards the Tosin Abasi side of the musical spectrum but my own admiration for Josh and his chosen style is equally strong. GREAT INTERVIEW....GREAT SERIES....The future of guitar music looks bright indeed. And we really need it these days - RIP EVH....
There’s something great about watching an amazing musician and guitarist interviewing another amazing musician and guitarist, you really understand where each other is coming from :)
And here I am commenting AGAIN that this is another great interview and the questions and interaction is terrific and the guests are so great, Josh! Superb channel, man. I'm looking forward to making the same comment tomorrow
Just now discovering your channel damn UA-cam been holding back, don't worry just subscribed and stoked to see the content loved your interview with Julian Lage
Great video..loving the series.. and I love the fact that you had a guest that is worlds away from you in context of guitar playing n music, very enjoyable
Really interesting, I never really took improvising seriously as I was focused on song writing, and coming to it later in life has made me really appreciate just how insanely hard it is to do quite badly, never mind to a high standard like Josh.
Cool Interview and honest vibe between two clever, inspiring dudes. Great questions Josh, awesome job and damn right we wouldn't begrudge you letting off a little steam and laying some rock-ass metal-shit on us... go to town son.
Great interview type thing Josh..I am a drummer for 35 years and I have always played a little guitar and bass on the side and I have played drums in bands with some great guitar players, and so this year I really dug into playing guitar and I am thinking of getting into recording more since I have that musical background but it seems overwhelming, not only monetarily but technically, to acquire my own home studio. That is why I love your channel, you are doing what I want to do and am aiming to do. Thank you for that.
Loved this. You two are both of my highest praise! Along with Daniel Castro, Kid Andersen, and Chris Cain. (One might be able to read a lot about me through my choices, LoL)
Josh, these interviews are great man. I’ve heard some things in this interview especially, as well as the Scott Henderson one, that immediately affect my view on music (be it my own or others). Gotta ask; is Guthrie Govan on the list?
Hey Josh, regarding drawing, like playing guitar, find the tools that work for you. What other use can bring motivation and creativity, but it's not nearly as important as what you find works best for you. In other words, what's your "voice"? Love the interviews.

Tosin is so totally unbiased and open minded and you can really see how it translates into his playing. Great interview :)
What a fun interview! Get Tosin back on for part 2! 😄
The fact you were digging metal and grunge back in the day makes me happy

I love your channel but, am I missing something, you're next to each other and no masks, and no explanation, isn't that a bit irresponsible?
We had literally both just been tested. We had masks on all day but it's hard to do the interview with them on.
