Hi all. Question: I made an Excel spreadsheet of the ‘22 babies, moms and troops based on the Wiki data. I haven’t done ‘23 as no one seemed particularly interested in the ‘22. I may do the ‘23s and start on the ‘24s if anyone would like me. It’s fairly time consuming so I won’t bother unless a few others would like one.
Lots of cute, angel-eyed, inquisitive, and energetic babies willing to explore their environment. MC, well done on the videography! Keep up your high standards. ❤️🐒🐒🐒🇬🇧🇬🇧
Okay…we need a big playpen on flat ground close to MH road that the moms can put the babies in to toddle around and get to know each other away from Mom. And for us to get to watch their antics, while the moms are having a bit of a girls break. Who’s with me? 😄😉
Oh steal my heart , seeing Eyeshadow hug and hold her baby and her 1st grandchild . That was so adorable. I can't wait till Belle has her baby. I couldn't hardly tell but she looks like she maybe some of last to deliver this year. And Booper looks bigger than her mom ! Or is it Boopers fur ?
@debvit2353 I have mine on the 10th. My first 2 days after are the worst. How long til your move? I see you are up-sizing 😉 especially when it means you get a garden 😉
HA! HA! 🤣….as MC points out @ 10:07 River seems to want lil Lottie to sit still & nurse like a normal baby & @ 10:20 shows she’s had enough!…it worked for 3 seconds. 😎
Yipee! Taylor, the "highly motivated babysitter" (aka sometimes kidnapper) has been promoted to motherhood & seems to be doing a good job. Hope she is thankful that Gemini let her babysat occasionally 😀.
It's so amazing t watch the bond created between most mom's and babies❤ makes me wonder what goes wrong with those who neglect, abuse and abandon their newborns? Is it hereditary and could they get they the equivalent of severe "post partem" like some humans? Just a thought.
Poor Elaine. Something must have gone terribly wrong during the birth of Charlotte to make her abandon her newborn and cause her to be unable to conceive in the years after. My heart breaks every time I think of baby Charlotte.
I think Ella had a really difficult time giving birth to Charlotte. Usually the Rhesus macaques give birth in the early morning hours up in a tree. Charlotte arrived in the middle of the road in broad daylight. I guess a difficult birth and chock made Ella to abandon her baby. I also think something happened inside Ella. She might have accessed internal damages. It looks like she has a prolapse but I can't see from where. If it's a vaginal prolapse it's definitely a severe one because of the organ coming out of her and it means her organs has shifted significantly. These conditions often needs surgery. I wish the authorities cold help her but she'll probably be euthanized even though she's an alpha. I don't know if there's any other organisations with access to vet care that can help. 🤓🇸🇪
Is there a specific genetic line passing down the adorable elf ears? And at what age generally do the infants move away from Mom a bit and start toddling?
A lot of these babies have big ears. And their huge clown feet seem too big for them as they toddler along. That, to me, makes them so endearing. They eventually grow into them. Until they do, they are adorable.
Hello MC and all monkey hill lovers. Skull heads troop has the most beautiful babies and so many babies here and many more to come. Waiting for belle’s baby. All their family is just beautiful from mom to babies and now grand babies. Not looking forward to Tina having one though. It’s just so sad very few make it and teeny was the last to survive. Wish there was a way to fix her problem. Never heard of a drug to help produce more milk in humans or animals but it would be nice if there was something natural that could help.
Earlier I also looked up if there's a way to boost Tina's milk but I didnt get a good answer so maybe someone who have more knowledge about the matter could find a good answer. One way would be to train Tina to understand that her baby needs a bottle from humans. So, being a human and to give a bottle to a baby monkey in a troop is hard almost impossible to do. The positives are that the rest of the troop don't see it as food being given but you can't be sure and the second positive is that these monkeys are used to humans and live almost a semi wild life. Human formula is not the best to givea a monkey. A specific monkey formula is. You can also give goat milk for a short while. I think a soya based milk is the best next thing. There's at least one study done on Rhesus macaque babies where some gets mama's milk and some being bottle fed (I don't what kind of formula they used). The bottle fed babies where 7.5 times more likely to develop idiopathic chronicle diarrhea later in life. They really didn't know what caused it. 🤓🇸🇪
I wish more episodes focused on conflict in the troop. I can hear squabbles going on in the background. What is happening? Why are they fighting? Are there alliances? What is the food pecking order. Things like that. I know this episode is focused on a baby so maybe a few special episodes on how the hierarchy changes or is maintained.
Gemini clearly isn’t concerned about her baby being kidnapped. She barely noticed she walked off till having to stop her from assaulting another monkeys milkbar or crawling over another and taking off 25 yards away before she noticed. These animals simply lose their minds when goodies are around. Their devotion and steadfast selflessness goes poof when somebody rolls out a mango.
@@PamPreston78it seems like we will be packing forever! We sell in the morning and close in the afternoon so we have 2 storage units and a condo full of boxes! @@PamPreston78No, we are moving from a small condo to a 3 bed, 2 bath house with four things I really wanted - a covered front porch, a two car garage, a big screened in back porch and a yard big enough for my garden.

Wish that would be possible. You could feed it soft food soon as teeth start coming in. Once it gets started eating all of you could help from there to make sure baby got food to it could forage on it’s on.
Was Wilde born into Skull-Head troop or was he a bachelor? Either way, I think his tenure is definitely ending soon, he seems to be a generally bad-tempered alpha and also lackadaisical. A troop as big as Skull-Head's requires more guidance. Silas seems like a good candidate if he's willing to take the opportunity.
And in Bossy's troop, Lancy's son, Lowry is alpha: and he kicked out Barry, alpha before him, who was Bossy's son. It's a weird dynamic in these troops. It's not like there's a shortage of buff, young non-related males around either.
Actually it's only a problem if they start mate with related females and that happens rarely because they know who their relatives are and the related females usually don't mate with these males. Is it optimal to have a son of the troop be the alpha? No not at all but Ella is a young alpha and she'll learn. The best is for Ella is to start produce babies. It's also a less of a problem in a big troop having a male from the troop being the alpha than in the smaller one because of the bigger gene pool but not much more. Ella love her boys fiercely and maybe that bound she have with them will loosen up a bit in the future. It could be that Wilde wasn't punishing Raven because of his mum being Ella and not because he was afraid of Raven. Time will tell. Right now Raven can act like the brat he is because he knows he has his mothers support. Remember Raven loved to bully older members in the troop because he was protected by grandmum Abbie and mum Ella. He probably still bullies others. 🤓🇸🇪
I was trying to google and find out if there was anything that could help breast milk lactation and there are some thing that could help. So that to not directly humanize infant bottle feed the infant thru the bars of cage until she is able or he to eat then set them free back in the troop

Maybe she isn’t able to conceive anymore and maybe something could have been wrong with charlotte. I know she starved to death but she could have been sick also. Sometimes they abandon a sick baby but a lot of them abandon for no reason.
