Watching you drill and blast the rock brought back memories of when I was a teenager and I would help my Dad to do the same thing. We used an air operated drill run by a gas compressor and would poke a hole in the end of the dynamite and insert the blasting cap. The cap was detonated by a fuse which we would have about 10 feet long. Light it and run. We were doing this to create a dam on a creek and had federal approval. Can't do that anymore. I still remember the sound as it went off. Thanks for bringing back a fond memory.

I've watched professional blasters use just enough explosive to break the rock into manageable pieces for an excavator (Hi Dave!), but your method is much more fun and there's almost nothing left to clear up 😁
Dave is very adaptable to situations, when demolishing near structures or people he is careful and uses little explosives. When he's sure he won't do any damage he works like this guy using lots of explosives. Demolishing with dynamite requires adapting to the situation. When you don't have digging machines nearby, the explosive not only breaks the rock but also displaces it
"Wow! Those detonations were absolutely awesome! You've got more energy than I do in a week. Much respect." I worked as a mechanic for a company decades ago that did seismic work in the oil field industry, and other things. One time they hired out to drill shot-holes in the floor of a rock pit so they could loosen up more rock to excavate. The floor of the pit was 100 feet below grade. I had to go out there and replace the starter on the shot-hole rig so they could get it started and drive it out of the pit. While I was doing that they got all the holes they had drilled packed with explosives and as the shot-hole rig was driven out of the pit they ran the wire that connected all the holes together up to the top out of the pit. So I hung around to watch what happened. When they set off the explosives you really could not hear it but felt it through your feet. I stood there and watched the floor of the pit, about the size of a football field, rise up into the air with part of it going about 300 feet into the air. I quickly rolled under my pickup to avoid being hit by rocks that flew over to where we had stationed ourselves at the rim of the pit. I think they used a little too much ammonia nitrate between the sticks of TNT in the holes.

I only recently found your channel and am enjoying them very much! It is very interesting seeing you at work and you are a hard worker. The footage of the rock being blown up was absolutely stunning. Perhaps because of my upbringing on a farm in Wales where certain trees and rocks act as landmarks and often from which the name of the field derives, I always feel a sense of sadness or longing when a large tree gets felled or a rock destroyed. Even though I know it has to be done and have helped to do so. I felt it with that rock too, even though I would do exactly the same thing. I wonder if anyone else feels that way. Perhaps it is a Welsh thing as we have a strong sense of 'hiraeth' (longing) even though we Welsh mined coal and slate in huge amounts!
Your videos are the best produced I've ever watched on UA-cam, and I watch a lot of UA-cam. The second slow motion shot of that rock being blown up was crazy because of the one saucer shaped rock spinning right to the center of the shot. Great Video! New fan.
There is a really good reason why professional explosive demolition workers dig the holes deeper and back fill the drillings with quick drying concrete slurry once the charges are in place, it is because doing so gives a bigger bang for half the weight of explosive charges by impulse expansion, you obviously know that if you take a handfull of black powder for instance and pour it into a heap on a flat table surface and ignite it, it simply goes POOOOF in a giant cloud of black smoke - but take the same amount of powder and seal it in an airtight case and loose it off there is a sudden HUGE expanding vapour explosion, you could have done the same job with around a quarter of the explosive you used and if back filled deeply enough with rock hard set slurry would have just instantly vapourised that boulder rather than just smash it into largish chunks....but then I suppose you wouldnt have gotten half the BANG you were looking for - just an ex boulder and a hole where it used to be.

Awesome job bud. Take care.
9:26 LOL i love the safety hand. its an upgrade from safety squints. if the cable goes it will only take some fingers instead of your eyes. pretty good trade i think hahaha
Dude, that last rock blast was awesome! You got some REALLY good shots! Looks like you're having fun. Can you talk about the road a bit more? It's just for logging correct? How long is it? Stay safe brother.

Very good timestamps, probably the best timestamp-titles I've seen, ever!:)
Hey my man, you can move that rock with that excavator easy but you just wanna blow it up I know!!! 😂
You got a valid point there!
@M.BJOERNSTROEM does he but that rock looked a bit out that excavator lifting limit if you ask me
It was dumped there to set this whole thing up. Probably used the excavator to place it just so..
Would love to see that wheeled excavator with big mean aggressive tires on it, yknow ditch the dualies and make your own hub adapters to put something awesome/ridiculous on it.
Really love that machine and your philosophy around how you use your fleet.
He is probably never going to do that bc it it used for work and not for fun
Love Your videos, and love Sweden too, home of my late wife.
This guy just created the best content for all the men in the world
Amazing video man, I can’t believe only 30k people have been subscribed while this content is so good too watch, keep it up !
Beautiful slow motion shots!
The last blast was epic
Great video, It's a man's dream job. Jack hammers, big excavators and dynamite ! ! 🤩
Amazing camera work
Wonderfull, that is something andrew wont give you, makes you have a decent fear of explosives 🧨👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Hey man, have been enjoiying your video's ,watching them alllll the way through, its addictive for me, that boulder at 43:54, just before you touch off the explosive, the boulder looks so solid, to then just kinda melt into SO manny small bits, love the view from the drone, you really see how far it throws them bits of rock into the woods, so cool, it dose such a neet job, you would think its way more messy, really appreciate you and your video's, really love watching stuff like this, the rock crusher vid was the first i seen, really loved that one, didunt miss a minet of it, most people dont talk to, but you make it more intresting by infourming us what you are doing, your plan of acction and all, and just the diffrent camra angles, really enjoiy it, thank you ever so much for shareing it with us all, i will happly keep watching, you have a sub from me.
If you have so mutch waterflow on your forests property in the middle of summer , dig out some small ponds for wildlife and( fire repression in case of forestfire ).
Water keeping water in the forest landscape is good in many ways.
Good idea, but this is only like this in the beginning of the summer, otherwise its pretty much dry ditches
Things are just more fun with dynamite 😅😊
Det cord would make short work of that rock
مشاهدة رائعة دائما. أحب عمل الكاميرا وتحريرها، فالتصوير البطيء ولقطات الطائرة بدون طيار رائعة. استمروا في العمل العظيم
AMAZING 🥰
Lovin' this job already! Go explode some huge rocks, play Mudrunner in Reallife with your Quad in some dirt puddles, getting to pull that caravan outta the mud, getting to use and work with a excavator making new paths for a river while still being in the middle of nature surrounded by trees and whatsoever. I don't know, but the thought of this being a Job is kinda satisfying. Sweden is awesome!
Parabéns pelo excelente trabalho que realiza
While going to work and filming videos, I really admire you. Wish you good health
....LOOKIN' GOOD, NICE WORK STAY SAFE
Great "special" effects. Thanks for video.
