I used to just collect plants to collect, but now my collection is more “basic” and I’m okay with that. Thank you for even having that moment of self reflection. We need more of it.
I used to be the same and my house become cluttered with plants and I was overwhelmed with amount of time I need to keep them happy. I sold some of them and some of them gave to my friends and relatives, and kept only the philodendrons and syngoniums I truly love. Sometimes i feel like getting new plants but now I know how to hold my urge to buy new green babies 🌿🌿
Love how socially conscious you are Becca! I always try and take an inventory if my motives before I do anything that could make another person feel bad too ♡. Lol - my gloriosum looks just like yours! Too cute!
I agree. Buy what you love and not what people influence you to buy. I check Myself too when I think about buying hoyas that look alike because of hype
I love my common philo babies! I have the regular green heart leaf and the Brasil, and I think they’re so pretty. I also love watching baby plants grow from a small size ☺️ it makes you feel even more accomplished than usual when they get huge haha
You can’t beat the heart leaf for elegance! It may be an old time houseplant, but it is at home anywhere, climbing, draping, or even tucked in wall pot. Thank you!
Beautiful collection Becca. I seriously have so much respect for you and how much you care about others, yet unapologetically are yourself. Oh and I think you have a pretty awesome Philo collection 👌💚
Beautiful collection! I only have one, Philodendron brasil And I am amazed at how unique the pattern and color blend is on every single leaf. Every morning, I run down and tell her how beautiful her swirls and markings are.
OHHHH Love the velvet leaf one. So pretty. I have Red Emerald Philodendron cuttings rooting now. I will save you cuttings if you like and send them in spring. Had to take apart a massive mother plant to repot and get it growing up a moss pole and a long branch broke off. From what I have been watching on youtube the leaves are supposed to become larger when they are allowed to climb so I went into moss pole making mode here and I have most all of my pathos ad philodendrons with moss poles. My mistake there was I did not make my poles as tall as they needed to be so will have to add extensions or just do a total do over. If you have room for tall plants the poles do take up a lot less SQ FT. I am running out of room and have gone to hanging pots on my walls with big picture hooks.
Thank you so much for doing this video, I love your collection! Most of all I want to thank you for sharing your collection even though you don't think you have super rare philodendrons. I really am tired of plantubers who only do rare plant unboxing videos and then you never see the plant again, it really does tend to make people feel bad. I think it's important to appreciate what you have before you get more. I've been collecting plants for years and when I add one to my collection it's a big deal, it's frustrating to watch someone who's only been collecting for 6 months suddenly have 200 rare plants. There is no way anyone can appreciate the plant for what it is at that rate.
Absolutely!! I completely agree with you. Very important to appreciate what we have. I feel like I appreciate my “rare” plants more because it took so long to be willing to buy them! Plants are special, I hope that doesn’t get lost in the rare plant hunt.
Love you Becca, you are so genuine and caring, I try not to do things that would hurt another person or make them feel bad. I only have two Philodendrons, the Brazil and the heart leaf green Philodendron, the others are on my wish list. I think it's amazing that all of the Philodendrons have the heart shape to them with the exception of the Philodendron Ghost. Someday I hope to get the Philodendron Pink Princess, such a beautiful plant. Thank you Becca for being real, and sweet, that's why I love your channel, you are a fun plant tuber.
Hey Becca, these are my favorite! I love my babies! And I too prefer bigger plants less pots. It's necessary when one lives in a small space haha! Also, I keep my neon philodendron in brighter light than the others and she loves it. Just rotate the plant so that those bright green leaves get more light. Good luck! :)
@ 10:10 -- "Silver Sword" - The proper name is Philodendron hastatum. It will need a totem to grow up on eventually. With good light the leaves will get much larger and become sagittate in form. @ 13:20 -- Gloriosum - It does not remain a small species. The leaves can get over two feet across and the vein color gets more intense, a bright white or pale pink. It does not climb like most Philos but rambles along the soil surface.
Hi ya, I'm not sure if you know this but plants can kill off other plants. I did not know this until I was aquarium keeping, that they will literally kill off another species like a silent rooted ninja in the night. I too like nice full plants so each pot is its own focal point. Maybe take the lemon lime guy out of there and see if he makes a comeback. :) I know a lot of plant peeps have like 100 terra cotta pots with hugely expensive cuttings of some rare philodendron that was found growing in the fossilized jaw of a Siamraptor in Thailand. I don't say that to insult anyone because everyone is different but I just don't wanna invest that much into something that then needs me to build it a summer home to survive if I'm lucky enough to get the thing to live. I say buy what appeals to you or makes your heart sing and there is no shame in loving a 2 dollar plant over a 300.00 one. If you love it, it's precious.
I would be worried about that if the plant’s health went down after putting it in there, but as I said in the video it actually improved! So that’s not what’s going on with it. It has always given me issues 😂 it’s probably a light thing
Thanks for sharing your philo collection. Didn't spot your dog this time. I like your combined/mixed pots. I have started to do that with my pothos and am planning to do the same with my scindapus. Reducing the number of pots is a great idea and a fuller pot just looks better. In terms of my collection, I have the green heart leaf cordatum, neon heartleaf (not a fast grower), brasil, silver sword, micans (only a cutting, so can't be my favourite yet), horse head (grows wild outside my building from someone's dumped pot and I snagged a few cuttings) & xanadu. My favourite is the plain green heartleaf. It has been bravely pushing out new growth despite living in my windowless air/conned office for almost a year. I kissed it spontaneously the other day and try to find it a window sill at weekends. I need it near me at work. I loved the look of yours. So many leaves! Do you fertilise it? Not a fan of the clumping philos (birken, princes and princesses). Not sure why.
He was off probably with dad :) I do fertilize my philos, yes! Every time I water about every 14 days or so. You have a beautiful collection of philodendrons!!
That's a great collection you have Becca 💚🌿 Your right it's not about how many or how much plants you have in your collection the important thing is you love your plant collection ♥️
i've been falling for philodendrons recently. I got a brasil and i absolutely love it. Then i found a green heart leaf with really long vines on sale and it just makes me so happy!! I did some research on them, and I found that even though everyone says they have a cordatum, it's probably actually hederaceum. cordatums are quite rare in the houseplant market and are mostly found only in the wild. I still see plenty of people selling the heart leaf with the cordatum name, so I'm not 100% sure...
I really love fuller plants, but you can get smaller plants for cheaper, like on Etsy, and to be able to order as many types as I want. So yeah. Smaller does grow up!
You have such healthy plants! My micans was dying too until I put it in another room where I wouldn't be messing with it all the time (watering and moving it around). They definitely like to be more dry and left alone.
I love my philodendron Brazil, I got a cutting from a coworker. I actually got my philodendron Brazil and my pink princess as cuttings. My pink princess keeps putting out growth. I am the same way with baby plants and cuttings.😉
My Grandfather took great pride in wearing pyjama pants with dress clothes if he was being photographed and no one would see the "bottom of him." I think it's funny and hey--why not be comfortable! :D Philodendrons are my favourite genus--nice collection!
Hello to my fellow Large Plants/Less Pots sister! I was wondering about mixing varieties of Heart Leaf Philodendrons in one pot! Glad you showed yours and how it is doing. I think I will try that now!
You are hands down my favorite youtuber!! I love your content so much!! I know I've said this but you are just so sweet and fun to watch and seem so down to earth!
Love your Philodendron collection! My favorite philos at the moment is my Birkin which was my dream plant! My Philo congo green and my micans! 💚 Really enjoy your videos! You cracked me up at the pajama party! I'm sure you aren't the only UA-camr to have done that! 😉
Yes!!! Bigger plants, less pots! Can we start that hashtag on ig lol I love all plants but I like to see more green than pots. Thank you Becca! Your collection is relatable. I love it!❤
I'm a nerd for Latin botanical names and I recently found out that a lot of those common philos are actually the same species! philo micans is philodendron hederaceum var. hederaceum, philo scandens/cordatum is philodendron hederaceum var. oxycardium, and the 'brasil', 'lime' (not neon or lemon-lime), and 'silver stripe' are also subvariants of var. oxycardium
Never be afraid to show what you have or who you are because you know what someday somebody's going to notice you and make you a superstar and then you'll have all the money and you want to buy these rare plants!
Your last philadendrin may need more light. Also i find my lemon lime phil needs a lot of light. I now have great growth with mine in bright indirect light, with even an hour or so of morning sun. Where my brazil can get by with less. You may need to repot it separate or place it in brighter light. I also find i need to fertilize my hanging phils year round as they put out growth all year. I just use a little less of a liquid organic diluted solution in winter. Hope this helps.
Hi Becca! Another fun video! You're so down to earth and realistic about everything. You have a really nice philodendron collection, and I do like this kind of videos. I get so tired of seeing the "rare" houseplant titles that I don't watch many of them any more, unless it would be yours, or others UA-camrs that I really like. A lot of the "rare" ones are only a leaf, or two, and so expensive.....why buy them when they aren't near as pretty as a fuller plant, just to say you have one? Also, if they die, what a waste of money! LOL! I would like to find a pink princess philo, they're so pretty! I have a heart shaped and Brazil philo and would like to add to them. I, also, like putting more than one plant in a pot. I recently did that with some Syngoniums and like the look. Thank you so much for sharing! Love the pj's, and missed seeing Leo.
Nice philo collection! I have a tiny cutting of philo bandiatum and can't wait to see it grow as big as yours. I have about 10 philos and I love them. My favourite is philo verrucasum . I think you should get one if you love velvety leaves.
Really good philo video you have some beautiful plants an babies. I love to watch them grow too. No need to be embarrassed you know, everyone does it. Lol
Becca you're so funny! You have that reserved quirkiness that made me fall in love with your channel. I have a neice who is an exact doppelganger of you and hope she will have the same moxy that Carrie's you well.
You say you don't have any interesting philodendrons, but the silver sword is the only one that is somewhat easily available to me🤷♀️ I've only seen the Brazil once in a physical store, and none of the others🤷♀️ Loved the video as always 😊
I love that self-reflection moment! I'm new to your channel and I subscribed after watching the first video ☺️💓 I just love your personality and humor, haha. I only have a philodenron brasil and I'm definitely looking forward to get another heart-leaf philo because I think they look so beautiful!
My favorite philodendron isn't a philo anymore. The philodendron (Thaumatophyllum) bipinnatifidum. It was the first plant ever given to me as a gift. I do love it. However, It's big and bulky and I really don't think it should be sold as a house plant. Anyyyway. Becca, it's probably a good thing that I live in Oklahoma. Lol! If I was in Tucson I'd totally be your best friend/stalker! Only joking... maybe... lololol I think you're absolutely adorable, down to earth and just a kind soul. I enjoy your channel. Have a blessed day!
Oh my !! I'll have to check that one out! sounds really cool! and OMG! Thank you so much, you're so kind! I wish we could be friends IRL! Maybe if I ever visit Oklahoma :)
The new growth on my micans is also tiny ☹️ It's on an East balcony so I'm sure light is not an issue. I fed it 15 days ago. Idk what am I doing wrong. Thoughts plantie people?
Very cool! I've been a new plant mommy for about a month now and recently fell in love with philodendrons! I smiled big when i saw your hanging plant combo cuz I finally got a few that I'll combine when they have acclimated and the timing is right - also brasil, neon and rio. (Btw, is rio, silver stripe and gabby basically the same plant?)
I absolutely love your videos! I found your channel recently and now watch your videos weekly (: just want to say that as someone who is very auditory the music is a bit distracting! I enjoyed your videos without music or with a more chill beat. Just wanted to share! Love you Becca 🥰
What soil do you recommend for philodendrons? Or does it depend on the type? And do they like to be root bound? I just got a Congo Rojo and don’t know what to do with it. Lol 😂
I mix orchid bark, perlite or pumice, coco coir & a little bit of soil for my philodendrons. No measurements exactly but just make sure it’s super airy!
Hi! How old is your rubber tree? Does it shed bottom leaves? Mine turns orange on the bottom and drops. Somebody gave me this plant it looks old like more than 5 years. It's winter here now so it stopped growing.
Yes it is! And no the leaves don’t grow back in my experience. It just keeps getting taller! It shed a lot of its leaves over the summer when I was on vacation 😐😂
Am I a weirdo for bringing my favorite philodendron over to watch this with me
😂😂 I LOVE that you did that
😂😂 I LOVE that you did that
I totally get it
🤣🤣🤣🤣 no problem
bobburt dugnut LOL
I used to just collect plants to collect, but now my collection is more “basic” and I’m okay with that. Thank you for even having that moment of self reflection. We need more of it.
Thank you for watching ❤️❤️
Becca De La Plants 🥰😘

Becca: "I don't have cool philodendrons to show off"
Also Becca: *has silver sword, gloriosum, and pink princess*
hahahaha I know, now I feel silly for saying that!
Love how socially conscious you are Becca! I always try and take an inventory if my motives before I do anything that could make another person feel bad too ♡. Lol - my gloriosum looks just like yours! Too cute!
Yes exactly!! Intentions are the most important thing. Baby gloris are so adorable! ❤️
I agree. Buy what you love and not what people influence you to buy. I check
Myself too when I think about buying hoyas that look alike because of hype
Yes!! Exactly - I've had a "check myself" moment with hoya lately too.
I love my common philo babies! I have the regular green heart leaf and the Brasil, and I think they’re so pretty. I also love watching baby plants grow from a small size ☺️ it makes you feel even more accomplished than usual when they get huge haha
Yesss!! it's so rewarding to watch them get bigger :)
You can’t beat the heart leaf for elegance! It may be an old time houseplant, but it is at home anywhere, climbing, draping, or even tucked in wall pot. Thank you!
Yes I agree completely ❤️
See that's why you are my favs! So positive. Great intro. Your right. Sometimes some youtubers seem a little snobbish😅 just in my opinion.
It can definitely be easy to be that way!! Im trying not to act like that!
I am a philo lover 😍 I have been wanting a Micans, brandi, and silver stripe sooo badly. I'm jealous lol. Love your collection! Thankyou for sharing 🥰
Love the planter with different types of philodendron, it looks so good!
Thank you 😃
Beautiful collection Becca. I seriously have so much respect for you and how much you care about others, yet unapologetically are yourself.
Oh and I think you have a pretty awesome Philo collection 👌💚
😢 you are so sweet!! Thank you so much for noticing that ❤️

Yes that is so cool you made a moss pole for it! Red emerald philos are so cool - I’m excited to hear about how it takes off now!

Yesss! They are so lovely, I"m glad to hear you've been more into them lately. Hmm!! plant names are so often jumbled I feel! Who knows!
Oh and I love the mixed heart leaf pot. I've seen a few of those recently and I live it as a use for all the propogations that accumulate.
Yes exactly!!!
I really love fuller plants, but you can get smaller plants for cheaper, like on Etsy, and to be able to order as many types as I want. So yeah. Smaller does grow up!

Gave you a like right after your intro where you had your "check yourself"-moment. You're lovely! :)
Thank you very much!! xx
Love the pot with multiple varieties in! Beautiful collection of Philodendrons Becca! As you I really really love my common Philodendrons as well :)
It's one of my favorites! ❤️
Philodendron are my absolute FAVORITE!!
You make my heart so happy. The pj pants were amazing!
My Grandfather took great pride in wearing pyjama pants with dress clothes if he was being photographed and no one would see the "bottom of him." I think it's funny and hey--why not be comfortable! :D Philodendrons are my favourite genus--nice collection!
Hahaha that’s sooo funny!! And he’s right! 😉
Hello to my fellow Large Plants/Less Pots sister! I was wondering about mixing varieties of Heart Leaf Philodendrons in one pot! Glad you showed yours and how it is doing. I think I will try that now!
Hahah hi hi!!! Yes they should be fine! ❤️
Thank you for being real and true to yourself! Don’t ever change
❤️❤️❤️
Philos and Hoyas are my faves right now! Love your collection Becca!
Thank you ❤️❤️
You are hands down my favorite youtuber!! I love your content so much!! I know I've said this but you are just so sweet and fun to watch and seem so down to earth!
Thank you so very much!! That is so kind of you to say, and I’m so glad that you feel my personality in these videos! ❤️
You are too funny *pajama pants*! Just bought a golden goddess and I was looking to make sure I take good care of my new addition. love your videos
Love your Philodendron collection! My favorite philos at the moment is my Birkin which was my dream plant! My Philo congo green and my micans! 💚 Really enjoy your videos! You cracked me up at the pajama party! I'm sure you aren't the only UA-camr to have done that! 😉
Those are so beautiful!!! :)) Hahahaha yes I’m sure we all do it!!
You have a beautiful 😻 Philodendron collection. I love ❤️ my Heartleaf, Brasil and Orange Prince. I have a Micans and Brandy on the way.
Yes!!! Bigger plants, less pots! Can we start that hashtag on ig lol I love all plants but I like to see more green than pots. Thank you Becca! Your collection is relatable. I love it!❤

Oh wow that's insane!! Plants are the coolest
Never be afraid to show what you have or who you are because you know what someday somebody's going to notice you and make you a superstar and then you'll have all the money and you want to buy these rare plants!
❤️❤️
Your last philadendrin may need more light. Also i find my lemon lime phil needs a lot of light. I now have great growth with mine in bright indirect light, with even an hour or so of morning sun. Where my brazil can get by with less. You may need to repot it separate or place it in brighter light. I also find i need to fertilize my hanging phils year round as they put out growth all year. I just use a little less of a liquid organic diluted solution in winter. Hope this helps.
Those are good tips! Thank you :)
I, also, like putting more than one plant in a pot. I recently did that with some Syngoniums and like the look. Thank you so much for sharing! Love the pj's, and missed seeing Leo.
Thank you so much! I agree it is sad to see such expensive plants being so tiny :( Glad you enjoyed this one!
Nice philo collection! I have a tiny cutting of philo bandiatum and can't wait to see it grow as big as yours. I have about 10 philos and I love them. My favourite is philo verrucasum . I think you should get one if you love velvety leaves.
OMG! verrucosum is definitely on my wishlist! I want one very badly haha
Love this collection! Philodendron are my favorite, and not even really the super rare ones. I love a good Brazil
Yes the Brazil is the best!!
The philodendron delicious is my favorite and I really like your Florida Beauty.
Thank you! :)
I'd really like to get a Brazil and a Micans I just love those! I only have a philodendron moonlight right now. Yours are beautiful!
I'm excited for spring time. I'm hoping micans and more harder to find plants will make appearances at lowes and home depot lol
They are both so beautiful! hope you find them soon 💓
I love that micans. Can’t wait for mine to get that big!!! 💚

I’d be very happy to have a brandtianum and micans! They look so lovely

Aww!!! That’s so nice of you to say ❤️ I bet your niece is awesome!
Bahhhaaa!! Girrrrlllll... I can SO RELATE to the filming in PJ pants thing. 🤣🤣 The perks of being a UA-camr! 😂😂😂😂 Loved it! 😘

I don’t have any philodendron. But if I did get one, it would be a Philodendron Hederaceum!
You are the “Jessica Day” of plants 🤍
I’m defo part of the #lesspotsmoreplants club! 😂💕
LOL its the best!
That's my way too. I cannot stand this super tiny tiny pots. Recently I take 3-5 plants and pot them together. 🌱
So beautiful omg so many are being added to my wishlist thank you for adding more to my addiction lmao
Love the channel
❤️❤️❤️
You say you don't have any interesting philodendrons, but the silver sword is the only one that is somewhat easily available to me🤷♀️ I've only seen the Brazil once in a physical store, and none of the others🤷♀️
Loved the video as always 😊
Really!! I guess it just depends on the market and where you're located. 🤷🏻♀️
I love that self-reflection moment! I'm new to your channel and I subscribed after watching the first video ☺️💓
I just love your personality and humor, haha. I only have a philodenron brasil and I'm definitely looking forward to get another heart-leaf philo because I think they look so beautiful!
Aww well welcome!! :) very glad to have you here ❤️
@@BeccaDeLaPlants Sending you lots of love from Indonesia ❤️
My favorite philodendron isn't a philo anymore. The philodendron (Thaumatophyllum) bipinnatifidum. It was the first plant ever given to me as a gift. I do love it. However, It's big and bulky and I really don't think it should be sold as a house plant.
Anyyyway.
Becca, it's probably a good thing that I live in Oklahoma. Lol! If I was in Tucson I'd totally be your best friend/stalker! Only joking... maybe... lololol
I think you're absolutely adorable, down to earth and just a kind soul. I enjoy your channel. Have a blessed day!
And really, I'm only joking. Totally not a stalker!
Oh my !! I'll have to check that one out! sounds really cool! and OMG! Thank you so much, you're so kind! I wish we could be friends IRL! Maybe if I ever visit Oklahoma :)
Could you do a monstera care vid including things for a peru/siltepecana, others? I'm having a hard time trying to find helpful info for it :(
Ah! I’d be happy to put that on my list 🙌🏼 still trying to figure out monstera cars outside of deliciosa if I’m being honest 😂
Love your collection!
Watching this while wearing a very pretty sweater, a fancy watch... and sweatpants
Yesss get it 🙌🏼😂
The new growth on my micans is also tiny ☹️
It's on an East balcony so I'm sure light is not an issue. I fed it 15 days ago. Idk what am I doing wrong. Thoughts plantie people?
Aww what a lush joyful cordatum
I have 2 brandtianums as well, one has thick leaves, the other has thin leaves.
Hmm!! Must just be a variant 🙌🏼
Welcome to the club!!! Haha they’re all very closely related plants - I don’t know much further than that.
Little did you know almost the whole world would be wearing a nice top and no or pjs bottoms due to covid! Hahahahaha love you not cutting that out!
Hmm My micans has a ton of orange. I thought they are supposed too. Maybe it isn't a micans? Nice Philo collection!!!!!
I think that some of them do get orange on them!! especially with new growth :)
I absolutely love your videos! I found your channel recently and now watch your videos weekly (: just want to say that as someone who is very auditory the music is a bit distracting! I enjoyed your videos without music or with a more chill beat. Just wanted to share! Love you Becca 🥰
YAY! Thank you so much for already being a loyal friend here :) I can definitely work on that! I’m experimenting with the music and stuff currently
Becca De La Plants I understand (: thanks for replying!
I love your videos and I love philodendrons!❤️🌿❤️
Thank you! 😊
I really like the PPP honestly love the pink spots on the leaves but haven't found one here so far unfortunately! 😧
Yes they are so cute!! You always seem to find good deals so hopefully soon you'll be telling me about your great PPP find hehe 💓
The lighter the leaf color, the more light it requires.
Enjoy your videos a lot.
❤️
Hi! How old is your rubber tree? Does it shed bottom leaves? Mine turns orange on the bottom and drops. Somebody gave me this plant it looks old like more than 5 years. It's winter here now so it stopped growing.
I got it 2 years ago and yes it has dropped lower leaves when it has experienced shock!
FaceBook Groups are very scary I TOTTALLY agree! lol
Is that a rubber plant in the background? Have you ever had a dropped leaf grow back? Or do they just grow new branches and leaves from the top?
Yes it is! And no the leaves don’t grow back in my experience. It just keeps getting taller! It shed a lot of its leaves over the summer when I was on vacation 😐😂
@@BeccaDeLaPlants shoot.. I'm still hoping that mine will grow some back! It lost a lot, as u let mg husband pick it up from the seller :(
Oh man 😭😭 I hope it has a turnaround!
I love the part where you show your pants lol we have all done it
