I'm a new plant mama. I discovered your channel a few months back and now I am hooked on plants. I can't tell you how much joy I've gotten from my new plants. They actually brought me out of a slump. Just love how passionate you are about your collection and I've learned a lot from your videos too. Thank you!🌱
🪻🪻🪻 I know that hydrangeas aren’t a houseplant but they are my favorite plant right now! I just went out and cut a huge bouquet from my backyard and they are a deep purple! Absolutely gorgeous. The rusty soil in South Carolina makes them the prettiest deep purples you’ve ever seen. 💜💜💜
Aww the tiny silver sword is so cute. I totally forgot that you don't have to big one anymore, I remember how excited you were when you found it in the store. Splendid looking absolutely gorgeous and I totally agree with your 3 winners, they are absolutely stunning 🪴
Philo is my absolute favourite genus also (Dean McDowell being my favourite!) The vast majority of them are so easy to care for, which is always great when you have a massive plant collection to care for 😁
Fern it is so so wonderful seeing how happy you are in this new chapter of your life. I’m so happy for you 💚🌿 I’ve always been such a big fan of the Billies and Silver Swords 😊
Hi Fern! As far as your ring of fire philodendron not having variegation, I might have a solution. I have mine growing in my Ikea cabinet under the Barrina grow light full spectrum sunlight 1ft, T5 light strip. And it has the most vibrant bright neon looking pinkish/orange variegation on the leaves some are even almost all that color. It's so gorgeous. So maybe try growing it close to a grow light again, hope that helps!
My guess is Majestic! 💚✨️ edit: I was right! 🌱 Also - I'd definitely love to see you give the Rio a pole! 😍 I've been seeing some super affordable cuttings in my local plant bst and really have been wanting to snag a couple and you just made me want them more 😅
majestic maybe....my burle marx variegata has always had like half and half green leaves and variegated ones. It still does, but I put it under better light and holy wow the last two variegated leaves were sooooo beautiful! Thanks for the video, this was really great. Love seeing them ranked honestly, dunno why but gives the video like anticipation and build-up
I truly hope you have more videos because I think you just became my number one, most favorable, and respected philodendron plant lover. I really need to like do more research on the ones I have and you. You did it girl!! Also perks for being SO CUTIE HIP’ ❤
Those phils are so gorgeous, I'm already ready to buy all them right now, but I don't have enough space for them. It's so exciting that you show them with such love and adoration so people like me can admire, thanks
🌵🌷🪴 My favorite philodendron is micans, but I just got a splendid because of how beautiful yours is and I keep hearing how easy they are, so I'm giving it a try!
I'm having such a hard time growing mine. I root it, put it in soil, it rots then repeat. I've had it for a year and it's still 3 inches tall with 4 leaves.
Great video....have to say I agree about the Splendid, its care has been effortless and for that reason it's probably my fav...I'm in Australia and have many new-ish philodendrons so waiting for spring and summer to see how some of my others do over the warmer months
🪴Hi Fern! Really love the collection you have built yourself! My top 3 philodendrons at the moment are my Mexicanum, which is growing like crazy, my Bob Cee, and Atabapoense. I think that you should look into getting a Polypodioides now that they have come down in price. A couple of years ago they were expensive as hell, but I have now seen them sold for about 80 euros (I live in Sweden but order most of my plants from a great shop in Italy), and then you get a big 15 cm potted plant. I will order one myself this weekend as a summer treat!
I'm a huge fan of everything in the pedatum family, my florida beauty and ghost (though I struggle a lot with the ghost), polypodioides, and variegated pedatum! 🌿
It’s hard to pick a favorite Philodendron. They are my favorite! I have 41, and I usually say my favorite is Spiritus Sancti. Really loving my majestic right now that I just got last weekend. Squamiferum is one of my best/fastest growers. I was also really excited to get Splendid recently, and Majesty.
💚 A new addition to my collection is a philodendron atom. So far mine has a compact bushy growth pattern which is kind of a nice change, it's got cute ruffly green leaves.
Great video fern! ❤ you are in my top 5 fav planty ladies! I learn sooooo much from you. Also, I spy with my little eye some sport variegated leaves on the green hederaceum! Mine has one vine that is mostly all sport variegated and the other 8 ish vines don’t, so it was hard to tell until I looked closer.
Hoya and philo collections! U have awesome and healthy plants! I accidentally bought the silver sword and it is a gorgeous bluish sparkling color. Philo neon is also one of my faves so I had to try twice and hopefully it would continue to grow since it's winter down here. I overwatered my small micans so I had to cut and propagate in perlite yesterday😅 I enjoyed watching ur Hoya and philos, the then and now ( comparison of year/s growth). Congrats to ur new home. There was a Sydney guy plant vlogger too that wanted to buy a house since it was hard for him to recently move his huge plants, atleast now ur plants have permanent home.
Aloha Wildfern, Great Top 30!!! Seems like just yesterday that figuring out where to hang your new Wally Wally pots, & what to put in them…. Congratulations on purchasing your New Home!!!! I’m pretty sure you twisted my arm into getting my 3 small baby Majestic’s, which are now climbing a single moss pole…. I have two NoID’s that look just like #29 Sharoniae. I’d love to ID those 2 philodendrons. Two Philodendron’s I’d add to the list: Atabapoense, & BillietiaeXatabapoense!!! Lastly, suggestions: Chop & prop Florida Ghost, & make a new vining pot with original plus 2 rooted cuttings, & make a new moss pole with 2-3 new cuttings……. Again, congrats on new house, new look, & new plants!!!!!!!!
First time I watched You. I was very impressed with your extensive knowledge concerning your plants. They are quite beautiful ! I have 2 pigskin philodendrum plants and must confess I was a bit disappointed that they weren't in your collection. I subscribed and will continue to watch your posts. KC from Puerto Rico
The Sodoroi is giving tissue culture vibes which can explain the issue you have with it…Philos usually have 1-2 growth points per plant (3 if your lucky) when you see all those different growth points where the plant seems to be clustering instead of vining -it’s usually TC
🪴I love my Majestic so much and had a feeling that might be your #1! It’s stunning! I picked up a Ph. Narrow this summer for $15 and it’s quickly becoming a new favorite as well.
When I saw that Florida Ghost leaf fall off I immediately wanted to grab my acrylic paints & paint back of leaf & press on to 1 of my canvasses...I love my Philly Billy...can't believe he was 12 on your list!!!❤ great show!
I thought your number one was going to be the ElChoco Red. All of your plants are so pretty. I love the Splendid the most out of all the ones you showed. I don’t have one. I do have one of the Lemon-limes and it is gorgeous. 🌱💚🌱🌻
I propogate Gloriousum by chopping between the nodes of the older parts of the plant that has lost their leaves and I don't remove it from mother plant's pot for a while. because each cutting already has a stablished root system, it has been always a 100% success
your billietiae is MASSIVE, WOW!!! GORGEOUS!!! Recently deleted it from my wishlist cuz i didnt love it as much anymore (SO I THOUHT) but after seeing yours, imma add it right back!!!!
Great content for this new philodendron fan. I have a very happy ruby taking over his corner of the house, and I am keen to learn more about billietiae that I am considering for another location.
My sodiroi is about the same size as yours and I have the same issues you have. It's in a terrarium with what should be a perfect environment for it but I get wonky leaves too. Im with you on thinking it just needs time to get established and mature. I expected to see the leaves start sizing up as it grows up the pole but it's not happening for me yet either. Praying to the plant goddesses that we both have a sodiroi glow up soon!❤🌿😘
Fern, really enjoyed your top 30 philodendron videos. Glad to hear that you finally had success with the Burle Marx fantasy. My new leaves would get stuck. Then last fall I finally had a friend pick up an IKEA cabinet from out of state. Put it in there. It really started to tank. Took it out. Rotting, chopped into wet sticks. Only two survived and just put them into small clear container with a humidity dome, one has a nice growth point so hoping I can revive them! I’ve also overlooked the Gigas and Brandi, so may have to give those a go….🌿🪴🪴🍃
I'm always up for any of the maintenance, experiments, etc. that you do with your plants so I think that anything that you need to do with them, we'd love to watch. I would have to agree with your top philodendron! I'm in love with the Magestic and it's on my wishlist. I'm curious how your Anthurium Bakeri is doing. I've wanted a strappy Athurium for a while now and finally got a Bakeri as it is more affordable and accessible than some of the others. Would love to see how yours is doing and see what you think about it after having it for a while...I know you love your other strappy anthurium, do you still love your Bakeri or just meh? Any care tips? I'm not finding a lot of information on it, I guess because it isn't one of the popular ones.
Love this video and your plants all look like they’re doing super well after the move 🍃also I would love to see you grow philo Brandi wild form it seems like it would suit you so well
🌱🌿I am new to the plant game. I have a split leaf philodendron that is lovely. Another that I got a great deal on was a philodendron giganticus…she’s not quite giant yet but I am looking forward to her growing. My favorite of you collection was your billie, I just am obsessed with that leaf shape.
🪴 With so many hybrids I was surprised you hadn't mentioned Majestic.... and then you did!!! Thanks for all the wishlist ideas 🙂 Your experience gives me hope for my struggling Brandi (among others)
My guess: P. verrucosum. I don't know if you have it, but that is one stunning plant! My Philodendron loves are common: Micans, Silver Stripe, Lemon-Lime...I had Brandi, Birkin, and Florida and I gifted them to friends They did not capture my heart. Neither did Pink Princess. I do like Red Anderson, though, and would like to have one, but I do not have any more space for new plants.
wrong perception about florida ghost. I have a massive one that grew into that size in about a year of being under direct sunlight. On a water tray to keep it from drying out. persistently grows out variegated leaves (splashes of variegation that may or may not turn into solid green not just a solid white color) it's a thirsty and a hungry plant as it grows bigger. it takes weeks before it turns to green. i loved it soooo much until it recently started to decline as I need to move and repot it as it's getting pot bound. it didn't like the big change it had to go through. the reason why yours is snapping i think is because it's not poled up. it not meant to grow as a vine. as you can see your leaves are sizing up and it knows it can't carry it's weight so it's sacrificing it's leaves. mine hasn't lost it's leaves since i got it (until recently as I said, it's poled up since even from the seller I got it from), it's fed weekly and watered daily as it's under strong light. oh I live in the tropics by the way. and I watched the video where you propped your fbv. in case you don't know, fbv needs aerial roots before chopping it off from the mother plant. higher chance it will survive. expect it to drop leaVES (but highly unlikely if it has good aerial roots) but it will continue to grow instead of rotting.
🌿☘️🌱I didn't even want to watch this because I don't like how philodendron are so large. I am a Hoya "hoardess". Yes, I made that up. But I have a lot of Hoya in my tiny house and there is NO room for a far-reaching philodendron.....until I saw your Majestic!!! Throw out some Hoyas! I am converting! FERN, ITS FABULOUS! I can make room! I cant believe I watched to the end with a migraine at 3am! Super great video! Thank you ❤
I love Subhastatum. Ive had mine for several years, however I've found it's behaviour a bit of a pain. It grows, thrives and matures producing pretty large leaves (about 70cm leaves), then it's lower leaves start dying off and I have to chop it back and prop the healthy growth to pot it back in again. It does this every 12-18 months and so I must love it or I wouldn't bother 🤣 I'm not a fan of high maintenance plants, but my Subbie is only a nuisance for short periods. The Micans seems to be a hit or miss plant for people. I've found that mine has always been amazing for me. It's grown like a weed regardless of season, where its positioned, season or neglect. But I have many friends who really struggle with it.
Hi Fern. I'm guessing your most favourtite philodendron is "Tortum" (written at start of video). Wow! Your "Ring of Fire" is amazing. Mine lost all its leaves in winter. Love your "Painted Lady". Omg! Your Mameii is huge! Your "Florida - Ghost" is awesome!!! Love your "Verrucosum" Oooooh.!!! Love your "Narrow" (awesome leaves). Your "El choco Red" is beautiful! Your "El guapo" like WOW!!! OK!! I can see why "Majestic" is your favourite. Absolutely impressive!!! 🪴🌿🍁
I really like your channel. Your smooth explanation of each plant, what you like it, and the info about the plant is amazing. I have a small plant shop in NM, and I have some unicorn plants that I absolutely love. But, my Micans, Heart leaf, and lemon lime are among my favs and Higher Power forbid, something happen at my home like a fire, I'd be grabbing those three running out the door along with my furr-babies. I like the even tone of your channel. You don't get over excited about the plants. You give a great presentation, and that's why I'm a new subscriber. I'll be checking out all of your videos in the future. Thank you for all the info.
yesssssssssss 1+ hour of Fern and my favourite genus of houseplant! As for my guess, your favourites have got to be the splendid or the majestic, maybe even the glorious or gloriosum (because those two are my favourites)
Amazing plants. I skipped a little. The Majestic is surprisingly attractive. The one that sizes up for me, no fuss and beautiful light green leaves and fuzzy petioles is the Philodendron esmeraldense. I really recommend it.
I had to start a new dark lord with a more mature cutting and it’s working . They just seem to take time to mature ! Good luck 🍀 ordered one large leaf 🍃👍🏼 doing very well . ❤
I thought for sure that the splendid was your favorite but I completely understand why the majestic won. You have such a beautiful specimen of a philodendron majestic!! 😮 I had no idea I wanted one til now lol
Girl with all your big foliage I’m surprised you don’t own any bird of paradise!! They’re super easy and they’re more giant than any alocasia you can find!
Hmm, I’m not a fan of silver or fuzzy foliage myself, except like the gloriosum cause it changes with the light, just not the super fuzzy leaves on some plants. looking forward to your list!
I think the El Choco Red could be your favorite 👀❤️🍫 You influenced me, so I bought one as a small cutting a few months ago. The leaves are still super small, but he's lovely. I just made the mistake to pot him into a pot that was to big for him. I think he would grow faster and better if I had chosen a smaller pot 😅🌱
Just now able to start your video- my guess is Philodendron Splendid! I got mine because I was convinced by a video of yours that’s they’re so awesome!
I finally finished it! Started a couple days ago and had to pause it to go to work! I have lots of faves.. loving the snowdrift! And my HUGE silver stripe!
I have a glorious about that size. When you were talking about the 'damage'.....mine does that too. It produces a lot of sap on the back of the leaf and the areas that get sappy/sticky get spots like that.
noooo way--i'm struggling at work today and went on youtube and see that you just uploaded--AND ITS A LONG VIDEO LETS GOOOOO love your videos, fern! happy monday!!
Wow, love your Majestic, I’m quite surprised but I’m really impressed. I have mine growing outdoors (I live in the tropics here in Australia) and it’s leaves emerges with beautiful reddish-maroon & light green and it’s so beautiful. 🪴
I've had a "philodendron" for about 23 years now. took really bad care of it,, i'd joke and say it was an air plant cause you could leave water near it and it would grow a root into it. long story short after ten years of not watering it it gave up and fell out of the pot with no roots. I felt so bad for it, and got motivated to take good care of it. turns out it's a Monstera and the 12 cutting of it I took seriously need to find a good home lol. I live with 13 plants that could take me in a fight.by the way I agree that Majestic is beautiful. I like how it's so large but trying to hide with amazing camo : )
🪴🌿 great video! My number one philo is still verrucosum. But close runners up are squamipharum and glad hands which have gotten huge for me! I have a small el choco and a small majestic which im sure will soon be on top 💚
An hour of Fern and Philodendrons 🤩
Heaven!
Yes!! What an amazing gift 🥰
really, the definition of satisfaction!!! 🤩😍💜
i think verucosum sp?
I'm a new plant mama. I discovered your channel a few months back and now I am hooked on plants. I can't tell you how much joy I've gotten from my new plants. They actually brought me out of a slump. Just love how passionate you are about your collection and I've learned a lot from your videos too. Thank you!🌱
🪴🌿
I am a plant mom to I get like you at times, but what helps is all the plants I have, striving to keep them healthy 😊😊
Thank you for highlighting the more “common” philos! I love them too and it’s nice to see them publicly appreciated! Your content is wonderful.
Girl, you're in philodendron heaven! 💚🪴
Aww the tiny silver sword is so cute. I totally forgot that you don't have to big one anymore, I remember how excited you were when you found it in the store. Splendid looking absolutely gorgeous and I totally agree with your 3 winners, they are absolutely stunning 🪴
What a stunning philodendron collection! The love you have for your plants really shows through their beautiful and healthy growth 🪴🌱🌿🌾🌷🪻🌻⚘️🌳🌵🌲
The spots on your Glorious are extrafloral nectaries. My Glorious has the same. Charmaine showed it in her last video.
Love your videos 🥰
Philo is my absolute favourite genus also (Dean McDowell being my favourite!) The vast majority of them are so easy to care for, which is always great when you have a massive plant collection to care for 😁
🪴 I’m glad you’re still loving your top 3! Thanks to your inspo, I now have all three and strive to have as beautiful specimens as yours! 🥰
Fern it is so so wonderful seeing how happy you are in this new chapter of your life. I’m so happy for you 💚🌿
I’ve always been such a big fan of the Billies and Silver Swords 😊
Gosh your philodendron collection is spectacular Fern! 🤩🌿 🔥

I’m going to guess Philodendron Splendid, before it was El Choco and Silver Sword but I think you changed your mind ☺️
Splendid was my guess too!

I've wanted a silver sword since I saw your huge one but the majestic just took it's place on the wishlist. Loved this video 🌱💚
I’ve never seen a huge variety of philodendrons until now. I’m impressed.
I truly hope you have more videos because I think you just became my number one, most favorable, and respected philodendron plant lover. I really need to like do more research on the ones I have and you. You did it girl!! Also perks for being SO CUTIE HIP’ ❤
I love your philodendron collection! Such a treat to watch. As for the plant chores I vote for all of them haha can't get enough Fern content. 🌱🪴
Those phils are so gorgeous, I'm already ready to buy all them right now, but I don't have enough space for them. It's so exciting that you show them with such love and adoration so people like me can admire, thanks
🌵🌷🪴
My favorite philodendron is micans, but I just got a splendid because of how beautiful yours is and I keep hearing how easy they are, so I'm giving it a try!
Fun! My guess is fave is your Plowmani, Tortum and Pastazanum😊
Philodendron are my favourite! I cant get enough of them! Thank you for sharing, I have added to my wishlist lol
Fern wearing her El Guapo like a hat 💚💚💚 Wonderful video as always, I love philodendrons too! 🪴🪴🪴 Heck yeah I watch the whole video!!!
For little plants like your Sodiroi they come in the stores recently deflasced from tissue culture and they have hard time adjusting to the soil
I'm having such a hard time growing mine. I root it, put it in soil, it rots then repeat. I've had it for a year and it's still 3 inches tall with 4 leaves.
🧚🏼♂️🪴🌱🌿🌾🍃🍄🧚🏼♂️ beautiful planty babies Fern!! 😇 thank you for sharing!!!

Ahhh! So cutting can bring out new vines! Really new to plants. Very excited to try.
I’ve been watching for a bit. But subscribed. Finally starting to bring nature into my apartment.
I think your number one is going to be the splendid, I saw one in person yesterday and they are STUNNING ☘️☘️
I would love to see you prop the philodendron gloriosum! I just got one and I want to know all the things about it! I’m in love! Thanks Fern! 😘

On a water tray to keep it from drying out. persistently grows out variegated leaves (splashes of variegation that may or may not turn into solid green not just a solid white color) it's a thirsty and a hungry plant as it grows bigger. it takes weeks before it turns to green. i loved it soooo much until it recently started to decline as I need to move and repot it as it's getting pot bound. it didn't like the big change it had to go through.
the reason why yours is snapping i think is because it's not poled up. it not meant to grow as a vine. as you can see your leaves are sizing up and it knows it can't carry it's weight so it's sacrificing it's leaves. mine hasn't lost it's leaves since i got it (until recently as I said, it's poled up since even from the seller I got it from), it's fed weekly and watered daily as it's under strong light. oh I live in the tropics by the way.
and I watched the video where you propped your fbv. in case you don't know, fbv needs aerial roots before chopping it off from the mother plant. higher chance it will survive. expect it to drop leaVES (but highly unlikely if it has good aerial roots) but it will continue to grow instead of rotting.
my aunt got a massive philodendron lemon lime and it get sunstressed in a pinky/orangy shade, you must try it, it's GORGEOUS!
Thank you ❤
awe hahaha this is awesome! you'll love the majestic 🙌 thank you so much for watching the whole video x
❤❤❤❤ linearis is life goals. Great video. Thanks for sharing. Added a few to my wish list x
Hi! Thank you so much. Really glad you enjoyed the video. Welcome to my channel 🌿
Loved your choice’s and would love to see a prop/pot and chat video! ❤️🪴💯 Natalie
Great video ! Philos are my favorite genus as well. You just made me add the Majestic to my wishlist ;)
At the moment my favorite is Mr El Choco red.
The most beautiful Philodendron collection ever. Wow!!! So well cared for 🪴
I’ve read that with some climbing plants with moss poles you need to make sure it’s on the correct side of the plant, maybe look into that
So happy to find your channel. 😃 After you showed off your Philo Spendid, I added it to my wishlist immediately. Beautiful Philo collection. 💚
Thank you so much for watching 😊 the splendid is an incredible plant!!
yesssssssssss 1+ hour of Fern and my favourite genus of houseplant!
Love your philos. My current favorite in my collection is my jose buono. Hes been growing so well from a leaf cutting less than a year ago. 🍃
I adore your Painted Lady !! Exquisite!!!! Would you do a video on her when you’re ready to repot the air rooted ones. Beautiful!!!!!! Thank you! ❤
Hmm, I’m not a fan of silver or fuzzy foliage myself, except like the gloriosum cause it changes with the light, just not the super fuzzy leaves on some plants. looking forward to your list!
I think the El Choco Red could be your favorite 👀❤️🍫
You influenced me, so I bought one as a small cutting a few months ago.
The leaves are still super small, but he's lovely.
I just made the mistake to pot him into a pot that was to big for him. I think he would grow faster and better if I had chosen a smaller pot 😅🌱
love the choco so much, hope yours grows really well for you! thank you for watching ☺️
Someone gave me an el choco for free and a month later it had spider mites so bad I couldn’t bring it back 🥹
@@PlantDad215 Oh no I'm so sorry about it🥺 I hope you get a great cutting or a beautiful plant somewhere soon!
Just now able to start your video- my guess is Philodendron Splendid! I got mine because I was convinced by a video of yours that’s they’re so awesome!
🌿Thoroughly enjoyed this format. I’d be into it if you did this with more genera!
I finally finished it!
Started a couple days ago and had to pause it to go to work!
I have lots of faves.. loving the snowdrift! And my HUGE silver stripe!
Yayyyy thank you for making it to the end! Oooo those sound immaculate 😍
Lovely video! However I expected White Wizard and Pink Princess/White Princess to be ranked as top ones ❤
My micans plant is from a 2 leaf plant, I completely could relate when you said it was difficult amongst all philos!
I have a glorious about that size. When you were talking about the 'damage'.....mine does that too. It produces a lot of sap on the back of the leaf and the areas that get sappy/sticky get spots like that.
noooo way--i'm struggling at work today and went on youtube and see that you just uploaded--AND ITS A LONG VIDEO LETS GOOOOO
love your videos, fern! happy monday!!
same hereee!
Wow, love your Majestic, I’m quite surprised but I’m really impressed. I have mine growing outdoors (I live in the tropics here in Australia) and it’s leaves emerges with beautiful reddish-maroon & light green and it’s so beautiful. 🪴
Definitely want to see the silver sword repotted! Mine is about the same size right now so I can follow along!
Awesome video Fern. Truly enjoyed it!! I have most but small. Can’t wait to size them up!! 🙋🏼♀️🪴💚🌿
Thank you so much for watching! I'm sure they'll size up for you in no time 🤗
Love your channel. You inspire me in many ways. Currently, one of my favorites is the Golden Goddess. I love the fluttery look it has.
Great Video Fern 👍. I thought your favorite was the Silver Sword or Florida Ghost. I am struggling with my Colombia 😢.
🪴🌿 great video! My number one philo is still verrucosum. But close runners up are squamipharum and glad hands which have gotten huge for me! I have a small el choco and a small majestic which im sure will soon be on top 💚
🍄🌿🍄 really enjoyed listening/watching while I worked today. Also a lot of fun to see how many of your favorites I have in my own collection.
You have GOT to try a philodendron patriciae! They are sooooooo pretty and they size up so quickly!
