    just picked up the 800 equinox and also have the white metal detector, aside from beach detecting I do a little research using topo graph charts and old records from the archives also i following the dredging looking at the pumping sand on the beaches, tide charts will give you a birds eye view of the low areas along the beach, i will try to list some of my resources at a later time

    Thanks for the informative video. Just one question: At 3:50, did you do a 'bottom burp'? I had a mouthful of tea at the time, and am still wiping it off the laptop screen...

    Ok, so I'm just got one and noticed so many tones and numbers in and around the same range. Basically got to dig everything, even scratchy tones? Coming from the xterra it really separated gold from silver tones I'm surprised these are all so close together seeing as it has 50 segments. Anyone else find this frustrating or does it just take some getting used to?Admittedly I would dig pretty much most things out of pure curiosity, but I had a clearer picture of what maybe there from the tones going by the Randy Horton method.

      @DesignCutters 5 років тому +1

      Same frustration as you're having - it seems it just won't lock on to a number and stay with it. Almost every target I dig (or chose not to) has numbers in a range of plus or minus 2 or 3 , sometimes US dimes come in the same range as memorial cents or wheat cents, silver dimes sometimes like copper cents etc. My only reason for keeping it is it's lighter and less fatiguing than my E-trac.

      @@DesignCutters Hi, yeah, it can be annoying. Best thing ive found since is to use the 5 tones method and shift up the second segment a bit as a lot of metal can come in at 20-22 range. This makes it more manageable tonally and focus on the way the tone responds. Ive actually grown to love it, when it plays nice;) Pretty certain size and shape has an equal factor on vdi.

    • @DesignCutters
      @DesignCutters 5 років тому

      So you make the 2nd segment end approx. where?

    • @statueoftheabyss6886
      @statueoftheabyss6886 5 років тому

      @@DesignCutters 23-24. 18-22 is usually something pretty decent if its solid over here. I hope that is some help. There is a great forum on facebook:
      The Official Minelab Equinox Users Group.
      Its really useful. So much information, some good some not so but in the comment posts people sent them straight.
      Not certain with the font size, oops.
      Basically, if you are concerned about missing anything you have to dig it. I don't, I tend to go for solid two way or strong signals. But then I get bored or arm starts to get tired and ill start digging regardless. Ive found the single frequencies great if you are struggling with emi. It is a very good machine, very good. Just takes some getting used to .

    I loved gold and silver tones and VDIs. It is a great job! as far as I checked fine gold wedding ring sounds like 15, a silver cross like 16, and a big old silver coin like 29-31.

    Thanks for the vid but the way you are waving some of those targets over the coil in a careless fashion is a bit distracting and makes the signal processing a little harder for the nox. Please slow down a little and be more carefull of the targets orientation. since this is a vid of VID numbers

    Watched it all & many of the items are almost the same as others + or - a digit or 2 which tells me to DIG IT ALL. I listen to my tones more than rely on numbers. Screaming high tone means coin in the poc, of course a soda can gives the same screaming tone lol. Good luck with it mate.

      Highest number I saw on the 800 was 32. AT goes into the 90's which is a silver number. What are your numbers with iron?

    So thats it for modern coins rings and farting, you'll notice farting has a lowish tone all of it's own but sometimes can be vey high pitched.

    Hi Paul just got my equinox this afternoon. Not had time to set up but like a kid going detecting tonight. Please can you tell me the UK decimal coin IDs

    • @paulcee
      @paulcee  6 років тому +1

      coins fail generally between 10 to 27. 5p are 11, 20p are around 14-15, 50p are 16, £1 around 21-23, £2 similar. 1P 27, and the 2p can dail anywhere between minus numbers and 30s theye are the most unpredicatable coin. but bottletops will be a problem they come in 15-16 but you can just sometimes hear iron if you bring the coil very slowly back to the signal..Paul

    I don't know about your 2p being very distinctive but I reckon that the grunting tone that you got with the 20p could be called very di STINK tive. Mate I had a great laugh thanks Paul.
