I just bought one 4 months ago…. I bought a 335 but changed my mind.., after years or strats it was just too damn big, but I wanted that Gibson / Epiphone feel …. The 339 is PERFECT… besides the glossy neck, but I’ll sand her down sometime soon 🔥
I can't speak to anything about the casino, but the front ends on this guitar were great. That's why I was so frustrated at the top of the neck when the frets themselves weren't finished great and they were
You've made some really good points, thanks. I'd just like to make one. You should say either, "Has Epiphone fixed its..." or Have Epiphone fixed their...". The former treats Epi as a company, a single entity, the latter treats it as a group of people, a plural. Both are correct, and, no, it's not "it's", it's "its". By the way, I know it's not that big a deal. It's not that much of a deal either! But "it's not that big of a deal"? Really! That's not for you personally, it's for all Americans everywhere. Anyway, I'm going to buy one in Cherry this afternoon.
Ok spend $50 on a professional fret dress and polish, add a touch of thread lock on the input jack. Ready to gig! Every guitar will have little niggles that need to be addressed in some way until you get to the $5k price point. The guitar looks pretty sweet for sub $600 and I am surprised such high quality is coming out of China. Now go practice some more. ;)
Play that guitar into a high gain tube amp ..and feel the F holes Blow Wind ...Set the truss rod , bridge and loosen up the tail bar . New American Strings then do your Demo !
I had one in 1991 and I still regret getting rid of it. Great guitars for entry level hollow players to get that sound for the quiver. Plus it’s got the iconic look. Can’t go wrong. Always a easy guitar to resell on the off chance it’s not your thing.
This isn't a review it's a self indulgent waffle. Incidentally, I have one of these and i love it. It's been turning heads since I started playing it live. For the price it's great.
Lmao, what’s your deal? He’s sharing his experience with the guitar, little talking first, no vocals demo, with a conclusion … what self indulgent waffling ?
@johngal56 - you say he's self indulgent and then right after you talk about your guitar turning heads..nothing self indulgent to see here!...lol..we are all hypocrites

Take some extra fine steel wool to the frets. Very easy to do. Just make sure you put a towel over the pickups
I define fret nibs as where the binding is raised at the end of the fret so the nickel fret ends at its inside edge.
White or grey 3m scotch brite pads. Does what steel wool does without the steel fragments to worry about.
@@iak706 oh nice, good to know
My producer had one last night. My $2,200 White LP Custom sat on the couch as I used a $600 Epi to record.
Thanks for playing it.
I'm not a fan of the 339's fret nibs but always like the form factor of the model. Does this have them or is it more like the hollowbody Casino Coupe?

Scratchy*
Epiphones do not have fret nibs. Only Gibson has fret nibs.
Had same thing with my 2020 inspired by Gibson 339..such a bummer when its a premium upgraded rig.. otherwise i really like it
I know I made it sound like the end of the world I was just really bummed out. I'm rooting for them so hard
Great review. I'am motivated to purchase one! I have a 339 version.
Better this one or the older Pro version with splittable pick ups?
Thanks Bro. I'll go and try one. It sounds great, even on UA-cam!
In my opinion this Epi should be perfect to begin with so 100% not 98%. But its a beauty man...😊
Epiphone is making killer stuff, their signature models are top notch.

Nice upload.
And it's pronounced "pell-um" by the way.

I'm confused. Fender bass breaker is a high gain tube amp, the guitar is set up, and the strings are fresh

The 339 wasn't invented until 2007
@ I was thinking of the 355 Epiphones from the late 90's.
