I agree. I had this projector with a white screen for an entire year before making the purchase. When my wife saw the difference she hit me and yelled a little bit for not buying the ALR screen a year ago. It was a funny moment that made me realize I'd bought the right product.
@@michael-4k4000 LOL WHAT U talking about ... I bought my new CHROMA on launch promotion deal day back in September 11th last year from Indiegogo & they throw FREE in that day by surprise 100-120" VAVA screen for ONLY $2800 whole deal ..was the f*n BEST deal of the year in anything was a JAW DRPPING deal hands down NO one even came close to that, as they says they made 6 Million dollars in 6 hours sold units ,.. . after that went for $3800 with screen for months deal, such as still was a GREAT deal & u f*n Bought that over priced rip off Samsung such as was for $6000 with screen lol & u saying VAVA to expensive??/ haha, B.S ..anyway LOVE my CHROMA really good projector in quality, feathers & pic & MY next upgrade few years down the road would be VAVA again thats for sure👍
just got mine from walmart. can't find any videos on how to mount it to the wall. Seems like it would be easier to hang the frame first then remove it and mount the screen to the frame. did you video how you hung the frame on the all and aligned it? Some have said just shine the projector to the wall and mark the areas that it shines on...lots of ways to skin the cat I guess.
The best thing about it is the up and down adjustment of the frame. I measured from where I wanted the right side of the screen to the center of my top hang support and drilled a hole. Then measured over to the next and drilled another hole, testing with a level. My holes are a tad high. My screen is adjusted as low as I can get it. Just so happened to be perfect for me. The positioning of my projector had some leeway so mine only needed to be perfect in height. I hope that helps... I should have recorded it... Next time!
Thanks for sharing! What's the color of the screen exactly? As far as I know most ALR screens are gray. You mention white, is it a bright white or more greyish? It's hard to tell transmitted throug the camera.
Hi, yes this is actually a grey screen like all the standard ALR screens. The white screen that is shown in the beginning of the video is a standard flat matte white screen. I took video of this to show the difference in day light viewing.
@@michaelaldridge9120 Ah yeah, that makes it clear, thank you for the quick reply! The difference is more than clear, ALR seems definitely the way to go
Is your model the LTS-006 or 005? I just got the 006 delivered and was curious. Ordered it from Walmart for $379 and for some reason the 005 model was $699. From everything I’ve been able to find there were no differences.
I'm certain that I got the cheaper one. I believe the difference is in the frame design and set up. The newer one allows you to sort of unfold the frame and lock it in place. The older once is more traditional with a 4 piece frame That connects at the corners.
Not at all. Read all the comments, I explained my method earlier on. I've got some experience at this so perhaps its a little easier for me, but just follow the method and you should be fine.
That white sheet is on the backside. If you rolled it onto the sheet it would be wrong side up. I think so... it was a couple of years ago. Thanks for the comment!
@@michaelaldridge9120 No, I disagree. You still roll it out in the same direction, with the screen facing down. But it would have the backing material under it. The material is in between so can be on the bottom either way you have the screen.
In short I would say not really. The regular white screws are maybe marginally brighter in the dark, however, with the versatility of day time viewing I'll take the small hit in the dark. And you wouldn't know there was a difference unless you had them both side by side. I hope this helps.
@@michaelaldridge9120 okay thanks Mike. I was trying to figure out if I should buy a motorized alr screen or a regular motorized screen to come down over my tv. The alr is $2300 the regular is $100 so this makes my choice easy now.
Do you still have this screen ... im considering ordering it from walmart .. the difference between the one you got from walmart (006- cheaper / discontinued model, which is the one im looking at getting ) is the frame assembly .. the 006 has alot of complaints about screen sagging so they re-engineered the frame for better screen tightness. Do you have any issue with the screen sagging .. i really dont want to spend another 300 extra on the same material with a diff frame .... let me know thks ..
Yes, I still have the screen. I haven't had any issues with it. I have assembled probably 5 other screens that have a similar frame. So I may have just enough experience to do it correctly. I would say if you are patient and take your time you shouldn't have any issues with assembly. If you have questions, let me know and I'll do my best to tell you how to do it. Good luck!
@@michaelaldridge9120 mike thanks ... ive read about some people having warping of the screen when it goes from cold to humid /warmer .. any of that on your side ?
@@michaelaldridge9120 ive assembled the scree ... my question is the hooks that go in the wall , seems like the bottom of the bracket is on a spring mechanism do i mount that bracket on the wall a little higher then pull down the spring part.. im confused about this and the manual says nothing
I think if you use decent anchors you'd be fine to miss the studs. For mine, one side is in the stud and the other is in regular drywall. I used the white screw in type anchors. I hope this helps!
