      Love that the earlier versions of this were shaped like N64 pads and had a cartridge slot that let you play Japan Famicom carts ,,for that reason some collect the earlier model ,wild isn't it ?

    i still like these built in game consoles and today these games are hard to find and evening if you do find these games they are so damn expensive and so i rather pay for something like this and i can have fun on the games that i grew up on.

      Exactly , heck Tengen Tetris and Arkanoid alone on this console are well worth it here , , , much better than the museum priced actual cartridges floating around , 👍👍👽

    I've got a similar Chinese knock off of the NES. It's 1/3 normal size, and even has little controllers. Comes with 999+ games and works with famicom carts. I played it for about 10 minutes before I started smelling burning plastic. Now it sits on a shelf as a conversation piece.

  • @VOAN
    @VOAN 9 років тому +1

    I remember getting a 999 games-in-one plug and play system and every games in there are another version of these same nine games: Super Mario Bros., Donkey Kong, Ice Climbers, Bubble Bobble, Balloon Fight, Excite Bike, Pac-Man, Tetris (Tengen version), and Urban Champion. The titles kept changing like Super Mario Bros. XYK, Ice Climbers XTR, Tetris 4D, Pac-Man AWE, Urban Champion XTR, etc. They even try to fool me by changing Urban Champion's title to every arcade fighting games known to man. First it was Urban Champion XTR, then it became Street Fighter 4, then it was change to Mortal Kombat 7, then it became King of Fighters 2000, then it became Killer Instinct 3, then it became Tekken 6, then it became Virtua Fighter 5, then it became Fatal Fury 4, and so on and so on, it's laughable.

    No, light guns don't work with plasma screens. The reason they don't work with modern TV's is because they draw the entire screen at once. CRT's draw the screen from top to bottom (with each line drawn from left to right), and light gun games use this to calculate where the gun is pointed at when the trigger is pulled. Modern gun games use tech similar to the Wii Remote (with an IR sensor of some sort) to determine where the gun is pointed at.

    as a kid i had something similar, the Q-boy. i think it had 256 games on it. was something like the thing you reviewed, it had SMB, star force and my favorite, jewel tetris, imagine an 8 bit columns and more. each had 3 letters after them detailing the variation available like starting level.
    problem was that the games on it were clearly NTSC ROMS put on a PAL outputting system (i'm irish) SMB was obvious with the slow music, the real PAL version has super fast music.

    It's a 2013 and lightguns have been changed to allow them to work on an LCD now. If this fails on that level then it's a crap gun as there are now LCD ones out there.

    Nice video Gamester81! I really wish Hyperkin would come out with a release date for the Retron 5! The holiday shopping season isn't that far away, and if it's not ready and it's coming out in 2014, then they need to let people know. So far, just silence from them.

    these types of consoles arived in our conutry around 1993-95 , were a huge hit.
    Many of them had 100+ games , some were very well done.
    Like the TNMNT fighters etc.
    Emulation was 100% because it was the same hardware except all was in one chip with the ROM of the cartridges.
    I had one to my self.
    Funny thing is that we never heared about NES at that time and SNES was already out at that time :)
