You guys did a great job. Lots of enthusiasm.
Thank you so much for watching and we are glad to hear that you enjoyed the video! 😊
You both did a great job showing this camper with the camera work and the talking it was better than watching a dealer video showing it. We are currently looking to upgrade to a Cougar fifth wheel so all this info helps, thank you.
Hello Doug! Wow, thank you so much for watching our video and for your feedback! We are glad you enjoyed the video! After almost 10 months of having our Cougar, we are still loving it! There have been a few broken things, but nothing major, thankfully! We will have an update video out soon to talk about our experience with the Cougar so far! What model/models of Cougars have you been looking at? They have so many great and modern floorplans, it's hard to choose! :-)
@@RestlessRVandTravel We are looking at the Cougar 290RLS or the 316RLS. It's looking like the 290RLS might be our choice due to its lower price range.
@@dougwrobinson that’s great! The 290RLS is a beautiful model! That floor plan has the kitchen island correct? Good luck on your selection and keep us posted on which one you end up choosing! 😀
Great video! We are considering purchasing the same unit. We are new to RV life so it will be our first.
Thanks for checking out our video! We really do enjoy the open floor plan that this Cougar offers. And congrats on soon becoming part of the RV lifestyle! You will love it! 😊
Love that unit.
Thank you! We can’t wait to get camping in it again soon!
I have a 2020 Cougar half ton 25 RES and I can tell you you are going to love it! After two years the only problems I’ve had were of my own making (LOL)! They really tow great and are super comfortable to camp in. Congratulations and happy camping.
Hey Bud! Thanks for checking out our video and sharing your experience with your Cougar! We are glad that you have been enjoying it! We feel the same…other than a few broken things, nothing major though thankfully! We will have an update video out soon about our experience with the Cougar so far! In the meantime, Happy camping! 😀
Excellent video, very detailed, beautiful colors and my kind of layout...
We have a 2019 Jayco Eagle HT 27.5 our first and it's perfect...
Safe travels, see you on the road
M Smith, Florida
Thank you Mark for checking out our video! And congrats to you on your rv! We hope to make it to FL with the camper in the next year or so! Do you have any recommendations on campgrounds in the state that we should plan to visit?
I love all the underwear storage 😂 Great video! Thank you!
Lol, that’s right…ample underwear storage is a must! 😂 And thanks so much for watching our video!
Just found your channel and went to the Bankston dealer in Huntsville. We are waiting for the Cougar 316 mls to arrive. But your video showed how your rks might be even better!
Hey Tim! Thanks for checking out our video!! The Cougar 316 is an awesome model!! That floor plan has a pantry correct? We are fans of the rear kitchen but having an island in the kitchen like the model you are looking at, is also a great option!! Good luck camper shopping! Let us know which one you end up choosing! 😀
Hi guys! I saw you on All About the Banks Live chat yesterday so I came over to check yall out and subscribed. you have a lovely RV. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to seeing more of your videos.
Hey there! It’s nice to meet you!! Thank you for reaching out, subscribing, and checking out our channel! 🤗We are loving the new RV so far! We look forward to chatting with you on the next Banks livestream!
You guys did a great job on the video. I will agree with the other person manufactures push this as a halftime towable. Your half ton will have to have heavy duty suspension such as airbags. Good job on the video.
Thank you so much Michael for watching our video, we really appreciate it and knowing that you enjoyed it! 😀 In 2021, before purchasing the Cougar, we upgraded our Tundra to a 3/4 Ton Chevy Silverado, so that is what we use to pull the Cougar. Thanks again for watching and we will have more camping videos in our Cougar on our channel very soon! 😉
@MichaelNigro-ch2sd -- Airbags? lol No! Airbags can be used for helping to level out a vehicle but that's about all they are good for.
Great video! We have a 2018 29RKS and love it. I've upgraded a bit on the camper and it has been very reliable for us. The only real issue was the cable wire that runs to the TV. The connection under the floor before it connected to the slide disconnected and it took me a while to find the open connection. I found the open connector and with a little heat shrink it has been good since.
Thanks so much for watching Ron! That’s awesome to hear about your 29RKS! It’s great meeting other folks that have Cougars and similar layouts! Sorry you had to go through the issue with the wiring for the TV…it’s always something! 🙃 We’ve had a few things break since we have had it, but thankfully nothing too major! We will have a follow up video out soon highlighting all the things we love about our model and some of the things that are in need of repair!
Nice camper. Good luck with it. Safe travels
Thank you! We have been enjoying it so far, despite a few things that have broke already! 😂 Safe travels to you as well!
Very nice Fiver guys. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much! We have enjoyed the camper so far for its first season! We will have a video out soon with an update on what we like, and what is broken and needs to be fixed! 😉
Great video, we are looking at the Cougar 29rli and I was wondering what you did for the hitch setup in your truck. I have a 2020 2500 short bed. Did you go with a slider hitch? Thanks for any info.
Thank you so much for watching! We did end up going with a slider hitch installed on our Chevy 2500 Silverado and it has worked out great so far!
Awesome walk through; you covered all the key features of your 5th Wheel. We picked up our 2022 25RES a few months ago and have already put roughly 3500 RV'ing miles of Fun and Adventures. Did you find any fit and finish issues? We discovered a few during our travels. Already remodeled our Wardrobe to allow clothes to actually hang on a hanger. And we had an issue with the Thermofoil on the Kitchen Cabinets resulting in fresh paint. It was all good. Loved it. Best wishes during your travels and adventures and keeping on posting.
Hello there! Thank you so much for checking out our video! And congrats to you on your new Cougar! The 25RES is a great model/floor plan! 👏 We’ve had a couple of issues so far and have made some minor modifications (added a cabinet door to the cubby in the bathroom because our cat would hide in there for HOURS! Lol) Our biggest issue so far is that the dining table fell out of the wall on our second trip in the rig! (Due to the bumpy I95 South Roads in South Carolina). So for this past season we have been using a folding table 😂 We have an appointment scheduled with a repair shop this winter so they can fix that and do some other minor warranty work. Wow! 3500 miles! What has been some of your favorite places you have visited with the Cougar so far?
Not sure if your model has it but mine had a separate grey water tank for the bathroom sink and shower that has its pull handle hiding up under the slide! You might want to have a look under the slide to see if you also have that feature. Imagine the sink and shower filling up and not draining while your in it😂😂
Thanks for the tip Bud! We will check it out! 😉
I'm looking at getting one of these as well. Love it. But, ditch that Capital grill and put in a 22" Blackstone, fits perfectly. I did that with my current Keystone camper.
Thanks for checking out our video Richard! You are SO right about getting rid of that capital grill! We haven’t used it yet, we’ve just been using our portable grill instead. We’ve been talking about replacing it with a Blackstone. Do we need anything for the install or does it just fit right onto the pull out?
@@RestlessRVandTravel I slid the capital grill out, removed the slide brackets from the side. After some careful measuring, I installed the slide brackets on the Blackstone so it would go in as far s possible without the LP connection hitting the cabinet. I predrilled holes on the Blackstone with a small bit and reused the screws. Used it all summer with no problems. The drawback is the area on my trailer wasn't tall enough so I have to remove the griddle to slide it in. Cougar's opening might be bigger.
Hey friends…love that Cougar!! I know you are enjoying it. Look forward to meeting you guys one day. Remember to “Enjoy the journey on the way to your destination!” Belinda & Duane
Hello friends! Thank you for checking out our latest video! We are loving the Cougar so far!! We really enjoyed your livestream the other night! We look forward to the next one! A future meet up sounds like a plan! 😉
Awesome job! Two quick questions, if I may: does the table extend (with storage under tabletop)? and do the kitchen chairs fold up? Thanks! Pretty sure this is what we want!
Hello Kat! Thanks for checking out our video! We are glad you enjoyed! Those are 2 great questions! Unfortunately, the kitchen chairs on this model do not fold up. However, the seats of the chairs do lift up and there is storage underneath 🙂 So with the kitchen table…that has been a whole story! 😆 On our second trip in camper to South Carolina, the table came out from the wall! We have tried to fix it but haven’t found a permanent solution yet 🙃…but to answer your question, the table top doesn’t extend, we wish that it did!!! In the next couple of weeks, we will have a new video out highlighting what we love about our camper and what is currently broken! Thanks again for watching! 😀
@@RestlessRVandTravel Thanks for answering my questions; I have had concerns about the wall-mounted tables. Good luck!
You are so right! We wish that this model came with a “standard” leg-table instead of the mounted one. We are hoping to get the table repaired soon! 🤞🤞
What did you pay for your unit?
We have a 2022 RKS and I have a question. Does your pantry upper door open all the way open? Ours doesn’t. Besides that we love ours. Thanks for the great tour.
Hello there! Thanks so much for watching and we love to hear that you have the same model as well! We haven’t noticed an issue with our top pantry door, but we have had a couple of drawers (one underneath the countertop and one in the bathroom) that we have had to fix. We’ve had a few other recent glitches in the camper and plan to share that video with everyone soon. In the meantime, safe travels fellow Cougar friends! 😀
Nice Camper review 😊
Hey friends! Thanks so much for checking out our camper tour! 😀
Hello! Thank you for watching! We are so glad to hear that you like this type of model and layout! Please let us know if you have any more questions about our camper and we will be happy to answer them! 😀
Saw this unit at a show over the weekend and found ya’ll by the model number. Hoping to upgrade our OMMBYONCE soon! 😂
Hey there! Thanks so much for watching! That's awesome that you saw this same model at the show! Good luck on the search and upgrade! :-)
Saw you on All about the Banks tonight. Just subscribed to your channel. Safe travels. Hope to meet on these rv streets..
Nice to meet you new friends! 😀 Thank you for reaching out and subbing! We look forward to chatting with you the next time the Banks have a livestream! We are heading over to your channel right now, and we will be subscribing and watching!
@@RestlessRVandTravel thank you.
This is the camper that my husband and I are looking to get. We also have imagine right now and are looking to trade it in for this model that you have. Love it, great review.
Hey Theresa!! Wow!! What a coincidence!! What Imagine floor plan do you currently have? We had been looking at cougar half-tons for awhile, and this floor plan that we have, is our favorite! We are happy with our choice for sure! Of course, we have had a few broken things already 😆 but the positives definitely outweigh the negatives! Thanks for watching! And keep us posted on which model/floor plan you end up going with! 😀
We have a 2018 2670mk, we love it, but are ready for a change. We have been watching review here on UA-cam for a while at the cougar model that you have. There is a camper show tomorrow where we love and are hoping that one is there for us to view.
@@theresadrumm9418 The 2670mk has the island in the kitchen right? That's a great floorplan! That's awesome to hear about the camper show! We are excited to hear if you found anything that you liked! 🙂
Yes, our Imagine has the island kitchen, it is beautiful, but ready to step up to the 5th wheel world. The camper show didn’t have the model that you have there, so we will be going to the dealer next weekend to look at one. 😃
We have fallen in love with this model too! Considering 29RKS and 29RLI .
Planning to upgrade in the next year or so from our current 19 ft TT.
I have a question. When the couch is made into a bed, is it relatively flat or would someone need a pad or something to make it more comfortable for a night or two?
Thanks! Enjoy your camper!
We agree! It’s a wonderful floor plan! And thanks for your question. We definitely suggest adding padding to make the fold out bed more comfortable. The couch/fold out bed is quite spacious and a great extra feature for sure! 😀
What size is the truck that you’re pulling out with please? I have an HD 1500 5.3 motor to crew cab next how much is that trailer of list price on it? Great video thank you.
Hey Michael, thank you so much for watching! We have a Chevy Silverado 2500 3/4 ton truck pulling this camper. We purchased the fifth wheel in January 2022, so the MSRP of the newer/current models of this camper is listed at $71K on Keystone’s website, so it appears that the MSRP has increased some since we purchased ours in 2022! Thanks again for watching and we will have a update video soon out about how the camper has held up since having it for over a year. 😉
After our Hershey RV trip, this Cougar (2023) is #1 on our list. I forgot to look but is there storage under your bed? Also looking forward to your video showing what your “cons” are for this camper. 😊
Hey there Elizabeth! Thanks for checking out the tour of our Cougar! That is SO AWESOME to hear that you are interested in this model! How does the interior look on the 2023 model? We are curious if there have been any changes/updates since ours is a 2022! We should have our "cons" video out in just a couple of weeks!
So sorry, I forgot to answer your question about the storage lol. Yes, there is plenty of storage underneath the bed. :-)
@@RestlessRVandTravel from your video it looks the same as the 2023 we sat in at the show. The bathroom faucet placed on the side messes with my OCD 🤣🤦🏻♀️
I have a 1/2 ton pickup, 2019 ford,do you think it will be safe pulling with it? I like this trailer it has everything
Hey David! Thanks for your question! That’s great to hear you like the model and floor plan! It’s a great one for sure! We would recommend checking with Ford and Keystone to gauge whether it is safe to tow with a 1/2 ton truck. We previously had a 1/2 Tundra before trading in for a 3/4 Chevy (prior to purchasing the Cougar) because the weight of the Cougar exceeded the towing capacity of our Tundra. Also, just another thought-I believe this floor plan may also be available in their travel trailer line. Thanks again for your question! And let us know what you decide/find out! 😀
How do you like the rear kitchen when traveling? I love the looks of them, but have heard some cons on things shifting a lot more when on the road. What is your experience?
Hey there! Thanks for checking out our video! We’ve been liking the rear kitchen concept for sure! The only downside would be to access the fridge or pantry while on the road, you have to open up the slide, which we didn’t even think about before purchasing! But otherwise, we love the separation between the kitchen and the living space! It makes the living room area feel gigantic! 😆
With a hitch weight of 1,600 ibs. empty I'll bet you a dollar to a donut hole you are over your cargo limit on any half ton they make.
Hey there Beth. We traded in our Tundra last year for a Silverado 2500 so that is what we have been using to pull the Cougar. 😉
We did the same. Traded our 2012 Tundra for a 2022 Silverado 2500HD…mainly for the HUGE payload capacity it has. Looking to upgrade our Cougar 26RBS travel trailer to a Cougar 357UMR, so we can bright our fur babies with! Our 26RBS has the Capital Grille, but wish it had a griddle instead. It’s not a super great grill and can be difficult to clean.
We have a 2019 29rks...only difference is we dont have the pocket door in the bathroom which I wish we had..I like the white interior ours is brown interior..we have a window on the right going up the stairs...we dont have solar or electronic Jacks...
That’s awesome April! It’s sounds like our campers are very similar! That’s really nice that you have a window where the stairs are! We wish we had a few more windows. We haven’t been able to take advantage of the solar yet since we are in need of the inverter. That might be an upgrade for the future haha. I wish I could send you our pocket door, we ended up putting a cabinet door on it, because our cat would hide in the pocket door for HOURS! 😆 lol. What have been some of your favorite trips with your Cougar?
@@RestlessRVandTravel we have camped in Guntersville State park here in Alabama that is our favorite..since its 1 hour away...we have camped in Gunter Hill in Montgomery Alabama COE it's real nice its 3 hours from us..we camped in Mt Cheaha here in Alabama it has alot of hiking trails....and we camped at Deer Lick Creek it is a COE..Those are Corp of Engineer parks ..
@@aprilbevis6109 we will have to put those campgrounds on our list! We haven’t had the opportunity to stay at a COE campground yet, we hope to someday! From what I have seen, they are very reasonably priced?
@@RestlessRVandTravel yes we have the life time America the beautiful pass and it was 12 dollars a night..you have to be a senior citizen to get the pass..
My 2022 has the new iN·Command touch screen. Wonder why you got the old version?
Hey Steven! Thanks for checking out our video! Aww! We wish we had the updated touch screen! Our guess is to why we ended up with the old one is that we purchased this camper in the first half of January 2022. I wonder how easy of a swap it would be to replace it with the new one? 🤔
Love this fifth wheel. Wondering what you are pulling it with? I have a 2018 Dodge Ram Hemi with the tow pkg. it is a 1/2 ton rated at around 10750 lbs. What do you think?
Larry
Hey Larry, thanks for watching! We pull with a 2020 Chevy Silverado 2500. The Cougar 29RKS weighs in dry at 8800lbs, so it may be at the top end of what your truck can safely pull, especially loaded with gear, etc. But we’re no experts by any means haha! 😂 Have you been looking at other Cougar Half Ton models that you like as well? They have so many unique floor plans, it makes it difficult to choose! We will have an update video out soon, highlighting the good (and not so good) experiences we’ve had so far in the Cougar 😉
Also got to think pin weight on the box, not just pulling. I would go 2500 or 3500.
Thanks for the great walk thru guys! Question - what kind of access does this unit have when the slides are closed? We like to stop at rest areas and grab lunch or use the bathroom, but you're always limited by parking spaces. Can you access the important things when the slides are in? Just curious! Thanks.
Hello Stephen! Thanks so much for checking out our camper tour video! 😀 that’s a great question, thanks for asking! So with all of the slides closed, we are still able to have full access to our bathroom and half access to our bedroom, which we are very happy about! Unfortunately, with the slides in, we do not have access to fridge and very little access to the kitchen section…it’s a tight squeeze in that area of the camper for sure with both slides in! 😆
@@RestlessRVandTravel Thank you for the quick reply. We currently have a Catalina 243RBS and really love the fact we have nearly full access to things on the go. Certainly something for us to consider. Cheers!
The plus is that you have the outside kitchen fridge that if thought out well prior to travel will have all the room you need to get you through your travel day!
@@matthewmortiere4620 This is always the best solution. It's even a preference due to rest areas usually having picnic tables.
What was the price of it I love it
Thank you so much! We are glad to hear that you like this model as well! The MSRP of this model at the time was $62,000. And the sale price from the dealer (at the time of purchase) was $57,000.
Just an retired couple with our 15lb cock_a_poo. just the size n weight we have been looking at/for. Being a retired truck driver, I'm going for a 3500 to pull it with. I realize it's ok with a ½ ton till ya get in the hills !!
Nice presentation Thank You
Hello there! Thanks so much for watching and for your comments! 😀 And congrats on your retirement! 👏We are glad to hear that you like the size and model! We will be eager to hear if you select this model and/or what you end up with! Keep us updated! Where are some of the places you are planning to travel?
Was that a pantry to the right of the fridge? Shelves or pull outs?
Hey Davel! Thanks for watching and for your question. There are 2 cabinets, upper and lower to right of the fridge, the top cabinet has a shelf inside. The bottom cabinet is open with no shelves . Unfortunately no pullouts on either but luckily Both cabinets are quite deep!
@@RestlessRVandTravel thanks for responding. I used to think the island kitchen were roomy but this kitchen actually seems to have a more functional layout. 👌🏼
So what kind of truck are you towing that camper with
Hey Mark! Thanks for your question! We pull the camper with a Chevy 2500 3/4 ton truck.
How hard is it to get used to a slide right by the door?
Hello there, thanks for watching and thanks for your question! Having a slide right by the door can be a nuisance sometimes when we are traveling and need to access the kitchen/living area side of the camper. We are grateful that with the slides in, it doesn’t impact access to our bathroom, so when we are on the road, we can easily access the bathroom and half of our bedroom 😀
What vehicle are you pulling this camper with?
We are pulling our Cougar with a Chevy Silverado 2500. Thanks for watching!
What is the PIN weight on that cougar
Very nice
Thank you! We are enjoying the new camper so far! 😀
What kind of truck you pull it with
Hey there! Thanks for asking! We pull it with a Chevy Silverado 2500
Not sure why you have background music as you do your walk around narration? Very difficult to hear while wearing headphones.
Thanks for watching and for your feedback. We will keep that in mind when selecting audio for future videos 👍
Love just needs a bigger fridge and 1 poop port not 2
Thank you! We agree! A bigger fridge would be great! Thanks for watching
l want one
Thank you so much for watching our video!! That’s great to hear! Are you looking for this particular floor plan or do you have another model within the Cougar line that you are interested in?
How many feet long is it.
Thanks for watching our video! It’s 29 ft but with the hitch it’s about 31 ft or so.
That fifth wheel is 3/4 ton truck unless you got a max tow package in a 1/2 ton truck I wouldn’t pull it
Hello there! We pull our camper with a 3/4 Ton Chevy Silverado 2500. Thanks for watching! 😀
Great video but missing the 🐈.
Thanks for watching! She was in a mood that day we filmed! lol. She will be in the next video for sure! 😸
How much did you pay for?
Thanks for your question! The MSRP was listed around $62,000 (before sale price) when we purchased it from the dealer in January 2022.
Towing capacity is not payload. What is the payload on that half-ton model.
On Keystone’s website, the payload for this model is listed as 1,442 lbs
@Restless RV and Travel and that is where the half-ton loses out. My ecodiesel has a payload capacity of 1890 lbs. You add water and gear, driver and passenger, two large dogs... and you are quickly overloaded. For me, I am sticking with a bumper pull until I get a 3/4 or 1 ton.
Thanks for the video.
@@randomkadrmas2630 you are welcome and thanks for watching! 😀

I’ll bet you will buy a 3/4 ton truck to pull that 10,000 pound trailer
Hey Brian! We purchased a 3/4 Ton Chevy Silverado 2500 last year, prior to upgrading to our Cougar Half Ton. Thanks for checking out our video 😀
Yea I have a keystone passport at 7200 pounds And I was pulling in a Z71 1500 and went to a 2500 HD as well it’s a lot safer happy travels
@@brianbelliveau5551 that sounds like an awesome upgrade! Safe travels to you as well!
Wish these RV companies would stop touting these rigs as 1/2 ton towable. I see from the comments below that this couple has upgraded to a 3/4 ton. Remember truck manufacturers test tow weights by towing a flat bed trailer in ideal conditions, not by hooking a trailer/ fifth-wheel (12-13 ft high) on the back of the truck and hauling it on a windy Midwestern highway or over a Rocky Mtn pass. You can get most vehicles to “pull” something in ideal conditions, but will it stop it safely in non-ideal conditions?
Hi Crystal, Keystone doesn't advertise this as 1/2 ton towable. They just have it in the name of this series of 5th wheels.
Salesmen will tell you anything for a sale
A good state trooper can just look at this rig with all the slides and length, And know this isn't a half ton towable Sorry
You know that you can get a portable ice maker at Walmart for about 100.00 dollars mike
Thanks for the suggestion Mike 😀 We have looked at the portable ice makers before, but we weren’t sure which brand to go with that would be worth the investment. Do you have any recommendations on which brand to go with? Thanks for checking out our video!
@@RestlessRVandTravel the one from Walmart I got one two years ago and it works good
