    I bought that Crucial ram and unfortunately it does not clock up to its rated speed. It runs at 2666Mhz. I'll see if I can find a third party kit that would work.

      Thank you because i tried it and it didn't even read the ram at 3600Mhz idk if i got bad ram sticks or if it was the computer and it was my first prebuilt it took me forever to figure out the problem yesterday but i got it working with the old 3200Mhz it came with plus it was in dual channel on the ryzen 7 3700x with the 1660 super version so not a big problem

      @Leumens You're right. Searching youtube shows no major channels talking about this line of prebuilts. They always seem to focus on Dell and HP which are really fun to rag on. But looking at their site, the prices are reasonable and with the parts being easily upgradeable, I think I might try to convince my boss to get me one for my work.

    • @easley421
      @easley421 3 роки тому +14

      Lol exactly. Since this is the top comment I like to add on another note that when they put one stick of ram in there it's actually a good thing. It gets people who are just getting into PC's to upgrade their rig. One stick of RAM is like the gateway drug of PC's. Before you know it they'll be building their own and it all started with adding that second stick of RAM.

    • @HaHa-qz1nx

      @@easley421 @@easley421 i can see where you're coming from, but I'd think forcing people into spaces they aren't comfortable going into isn't really the best thing.
      Also, since this pc only support JEDEC memory, they might buy a high speed kit of ram only to end up finding out that it doesn't run at it's advertised speed. I wouldn't want to be in that situation. Imagine trying to explain to the seller why you have to return the kit.
      People buy prebuilts cause they're not ready/not willing to build their own PCs, so i really do think that OEMs should be able to deliver that experience without them having to tinker with the PC.
      Is it really that much more expensive for OEMs to get dual channel ram in their prebuilts?
      That being said, i did actually got into PC building due to a lenovo prebuilt(H520s). Decided to use my allowance to buy that extra 4gb stick of ram after alot of researching, getting into and understanding PCs's actually pretty hard, especially if you can't tell the difference between a monitor and a PC.

      personally i've got sort of a pre-built, you buy a package of parts that you can't really change parts of via their store, and they build it for you no extra costs + it's the standard pc parts and not the pre-built crap

    • @cholohd32
      @cholohd32 2 роки тому +1

      @@marijn17s ah yes. that kinda pre-build is ok of cause. I was thinking mostly of the big corporates like Dell & HP where when you come home & open the case you will find some horrible custom motherboard where you cant change anything & perhaps the PSU has been replaced with like a laptop power block. I thankfully also has a local store selling "upgrade" packs with real pc parts so you can choose things yourself, whew.

    • @cholohd32
      @cholohd32 2 роки тому +1

      @@user-su6js9po4l Technically yes, but there may be more than one issue that hinders it. I mean is the case iself even ATX motherboard compatible? They quite often cut/blocks/moves things around in big corp factory prebuilds to save money. Who knows if you can even fit a real pc motherboard in it physically ? Then there is the issue of the weird partition on the SSD that factory prebuilds usually come with. On one hand Windows has always been hugely good & flexible to me. Ive manage multiple times to move HDDs/SSD from one pc to a brand new one. And even thou Windows got highly confused by the complete change in hardware it still managed to pull thru (and didnt even ask to reactivate windows). But that was on open normal pcs. But on a factory pc the motherboard bios is usually locked/limited in some way & the partition is custom with a specific recovery partition & they even control windows update as you get messages like "we are working on something" instead of the actuall windows update messages. Who knows if it will even boot on a new motherboard. Hopefully the SSD/Hdd can be reformatted at least & reused (but i have seen sitations like xbox/playstation formatted hdds that couldnt be reformatted back to pc). If you can remove the ram & CPU/cooler normally from the old motherboard you may be able to reuse them as i doubt they change those, however in bad cases those might be "onboard" or soldered down. So make sure to backup your files individually before ever even thinking of attepting "upgrading" such a pc (aka not just the partition, as it encrypted by your windows account that you may never again access if it goes wrong. Actually move you importent files manually yourself to a thumbdrive/external hdd for safekeepin's).

      All of the variants with 16gb of ram that i have looked up are listed as being dual channel. (8+8)
      So maybe they only use 8gb sticks?
      Since i guess if they standardized on 8gb sticks that would save money.
      vs having both 4gb and 8 gb sticks.
      Even the 16gb version of this setup
      (Ryzen 5 3600, GTX 1660 Super) is dual channel.
      And to be fair i would say that 8gb is
      Probably borderline even for a new gaming PC today anyway.
      (Even in the budget class)
      So even if it was 8gb dual channel you would probably want to upgrade it anyway.

Later on, I upgraded the ram to 1gb and added an ati 4850 1gb graphics card. It ran for 10 years, and could've run for more but the poor soul just couldn't handle the newer softwares and sold it for 1/15 of the price. My personal bit of experience with lenovo service has been awesome. I bought their extended warranty package for like 15 bucks on my laptop and that gave me 3 more years of support. I cracked my screen the second day I bought it by closing the lid while an earphone waa on the keyboard and got it replaced for free. (I know!). The whole process was flawless, the engineer came to my house and repaired it for me. Then every year or so my hdd kept failing because of my stupid use and ive gotten 3 replacement for free. They also fixed my webcam not working for free once, and ram stick that was unseated. I also got a laptop power brick replaced for free. And lastly I found my laptop was overheating so I got it cleaned and repasted for them for like 10 dollars. All in all, awesome support. The laptop still works and is my workstation after 5 years of use

    Lenovo has moved all the CPU and GPU tweak settings to Lenovo Vantage (still not as good as having them in the BIOs but you can still change some settings concerning voltage and stuff there). I was also able to simply opt out of all extra bloatware when I started it for the first time and just had to uninstall mcafee to get rid of it. Been very happy with this system so far!

    Hey, so there's a Legion 7i, which seems to overcome some of the shortcomings of the T5, including dual channel ram, and it seems to have even more fans. Now, the main downside is the fact that it's normally $2,000 for the 2070 Super version, but you can sometimes get it on sale for $1,500, which is way more reasonable.
    So yeah, in conclusion: If you want to further spiral into your journey to brokenness, then you can put it on your list of prebuilts to examine.

    Buyers beware that there's no way to manually adjust the fan curves. You can only set the fans for the GPU with MSI Afterburner, but not the CPU or the other cooling fans. Lenovo gives 3 options in their Vantage app (Quiet, Balanced and Performance mode) but to be honest it's crap. After checking the cooling and fans with HWinfo64 there doesn't seem to be a difference between Quiet and Balanced mode. So you are pretty much screwed if one of your fans is shaky or has coil whine when it hits a certain RPM. No way to adjust it, except for replacing it. This is a nice prebuilt and mine plays pretty much everything, but not having manual fan control is quite a dealbreaker imo. I don't care much for rgb lighting, so put mine inside a ventilated cabinet because of that particular fan whine Dawid is talking about in the video.
