Since I've seen the bundling of MSI Afterburner mentioned multiple times recently - MSI Afterburner isn't a Micro-Star International product, it's being developed by Alexey Nicolaychuk (a.k.a. Unwinder from Guru3D forums), who is also responsible for RivaTuner (and subsequently RTSS), Asus GPU Tweak and formerly EVGA Precision X.

I will put in my 2 cents on the Norton, I have personally used it since 1996 with NAV 4.0, there were some bad times around the release of Norton Security in the early 2000s, but mcafee is trash, the first thing I remove when I get a laptop that has it unfortunately preinstalled (looking at you asus) and the IT department has installed it on my work station by surprise and it has taken my previously deliciously fast work station to something that feels like it has a celeron processor in it and a network card that has never heard the phrase "gigabit speed"

I had the 5600 XT version of this system with a i5 10th gen. Everything looked good at first. Eventually i would get the screen flickering that would only be fixed with a reboot. Also, i could only have 2 drives in the system. If i added a third, it would not detect which was weird. Went through the bios and all the windows tools i could find to make it work and nothing.
After i did a fresh install of Win11, i had zero issues. I'm guessing MSI did some tinkering to not allow much configuration of their system in the windows image

It's so archaic looking, it's like they found some pallets of old cases they forgot about from mover a decade ago, went "fuck it, this'll do" and threw a PC together in it

If you're going to go through the effort of transmigrating the innards of the prebuilt into a quality case, I guess I'd suggest clearing the crud out of the OS by resetting it. Depending on your version, I'd guess the easiest way to do that would be under Settings > Update & Security > Recovery. Removing all that bloatware might give a measurable performance boost.

Prebuilt case swaps can indeed make a huge difference. I have an HP Omen 25L that ran ridiculously hot, due to no ventilation in the front and an ewaste CPU cooler---swapped everything into a case with a vented front grill, 2 front fans, and a proper CPU cooler---the difference in temps is like night and day. in fact, the fans don't even ramp up anymore, even while gaming---they don't need to

At that point whats the point in getting a prebuilt then
(unless maybe if your younger cousin or something bought it like that and you dont hate their guts enough to make them suffer through that)

@@Balou_560 Because you're not having to select hardware other than a case, because it's already matched 2) you're not having to manually install drivers. In short, there's no dorking around, everything just works out of the box. Case swaps are incredibly easy

This case is so bizarre to me, it feels like something from 2008 with the plaatic not covering all the way side window, the psu on top, the miserable cable management/drivebays at the top, it's bizarre.
Especially sad because the original Codex had a lot of problems but a great case.

So it's a bit like the difference between standing on a lego instead of a landmine. You wouldn't want either to happen but you'd choose the landmine as then you wouldn't feel a thing... I mean the lego.

That’s an old school MATX case. PSU on top, no space under the motherboard and everything has to be stuffed in the main cavity. Works fine without a window but hard to make clean looking compared to new cases.

And then they charge you and arm and a leg for that system when you could build your own for half the price and get a better power supply, I'm guessing. I don't think I heard the price of this pre-built mentioned anywhere. I'm amazed how easily these companies get away with this kind of thing.

I was directed to this channel by the toasty bros and it’s become my favourite channel without a doubt I’ve binged watched everything he has posted in the past 2 years in like 3 weeks. Dawid made me realize the importance of a dual ram setup. Even with my ddr3 system it made huge a difference. But no worries I’m upgrading big time from LGA 1150 to LGA 1700 so it’s gonna be a good time.
Also I bought that 1150 board new in 2015 😅
