That was the funniest intro. I couldn't stop laughing. Cheveyo describing his panini while Tia films the weird guy in the background. Oh, and the bird on a wire. LOL
I feel like this is one of your best videos, it's my favourite at least. The jazz, the unique location, not hiding the difficult parts of travel, the food, the anxiety, and Tia letting Cheveyo talk about food in depth while she watches events unfold or a bird in the background. It also felt like old footage edited together in a documentary, especially in the voiceover parts.
Absolutely loved this video. The candidness, the cinematography, the documentary style, the music, the EDITING!! - loved it all. Keep doing what you do
10:43 The words you said, I felt like it you were directly speaking to me. I, at times, get anxiety that I feel comes outta of nowhere. The part where you were stuck on that train and Cheveyo was getting tickets, you were alone surrounded by a chaotic atmosphere. I think you handled it great you appeared calm and confident at the same time, I'm not so sure how I would have reacted. But what you said about going one of two directions made it make so much sense. I will keep it in mind when I find myself in a similar situation. Thank you.
That episode was ethereal. Like a fever dream. Full of non sequitiers and dalliances. Merry Christmas to my favourite Italian female explorer- Tia Forscale. And to the man with the ankles of iron- Cheveyo. Forscale.
I think you have a lot of Aussie followers by the comments. Well, I am another one. Love watching your videos. Merry Christmas Tia and Cheveyo. From Bendigo, Vic, Australia.
Where ever you are in this world i would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and can't wait to see what's instore for 2025. You both have brought so much joy not only to me but to all of your subscribers this year by just being you. No fanfare or over the top presentations. I wish you well. 🇦🇺🇦🇺🪃🪃🦘🦘👍👍
That ending was the funniest scene I have seen all year. So glad you are feeling LP. To me it is simply a magical place to wander around, drink coffee or beer, go to listen to the traditional story teller or go to the theatre in the grounds of the royal residence for a performance from the Ramayana, to the street market or to the wonderful l'Elephant restaurant. So much Lao cultural richness, so many contrasts and such contemplative atmosphere. Thank goodness it was designated a world heritage site and has been assiduously protected from crass tourism development. I cannot wait for your next video.
Just want to say, after watching u2 from the beginning, that Tia has come a long way dealing with her anxiety, that train ride had my anxiety rising, i can’t imagine how you felt without Cheveyo beside you, Tia, well done.
Yup, gotta just go with the flow and see where the day takes you, and so long as nothing bad happens it's all good. I really like how non-frenetic you guys are as vloggers and of course as travellers. It's the best way to be.
As others have commented here, this one is Special! * The Music - is especially On Point! * The general Vibe - Chill, Relaxed and Cool! Makes me want to be There... Now! (and yes, I like Capitalizing certain punch words) 😄
Light yellow in a cheese is natural. Dark yellow to orange (like in cheddar) is achieved using a colorant, annatto, a natural, plant-based food coloring extracted from the seeds of tropical annatto trees.
I live in Thailand and one of the first things I tell my visitors is to always carry small packs of tissues. It is very common to encounter no toilet paper. I'm sure Laos will be even more so.😊
Cheveyo is absolutely correct! In Italy, it’s panino - singular, and panini - plural. The problem is that Americans use the word as if it was English, so they incorrectly say panini for the singular, and paninis for the plural. Italian nouns ending in -o in the singular (generally masculine), end in -i in the plural, and nouns ending in -a in the singular (generally feminine), end in -e in the plural. Nouns ending in -e in the singular end in -i in the plural regardless of gender. Names: Mario (m) and Maria (f). Roberto (m) and Roberta (f). Nouns: Nonno (m) = Grandfather, Nonna (f) = Grandmother. Singular and Plural: Gelato (s), Gelati (p). Pizza (s), pizze (p)
Loving your travels as always - this was a fantastic way to round out Christmas Eve here in Brisbane, Australia. The choices you make in your filming, your music, and the way you interact with each other and the country you’re in (even when there are challenges) is always great to watch.
If there is any point to travelling, as opposed to just being a tourist, it is to go with the flow, abandon your cultural norms and soak in the local ones. Otherwise, on somedays you will go totally insane! Love your attitude that in spite of the inevitable anxiety, you suck it up and make the best of the situation! Good onya! 🤟
The guy at 6:05 who pushes in to get onto the train and Tia's look 😊....some countries are so good at queuing in an orderly fashion ( like Tia was) and some countries just dont do it. The things you notice when you travel the 🌎 🌎. And im writing this as i have a break from doing my entry cards into Singapore and Malaysia, travelling up there from Australia on Christmas Day . To travel is to live ❤
One of my favorite memories was sitting at a cafe, in Luang Prabang, next to the Mekong, at sunset, drinking a beer. This was in 2004. Luang Prabang is, for lack of a better word, magical.
I love that I get to see through your eyes, a part of the world that I may never see myself. Or - optimistically - a part of the world I might put higher on my list of priorities before I get too old to be adventurous.
Hey Tia and Cheveyo! Greetings from sunny and humid Singapore once again! Well, thankfully it's the monsoon season now (till around early March), so it's somewhat cooler and windier... 😅 Btw. The pack of "Tong Garden" cashew nuts that Cheveyo was sharing on the train 9:38 is a Singaporean brand - just sayin'. 😆 Also, sorry that Tia had to go through those stressful and claustrophobic situations. Being an ethnically Chinese Singaporean, I could recognise and understand most of what those people were saying. And so I could immediately tell that they were not Laotian people! Firstly, the huge group of noisy and rambunctious people that boarded at that "halfway station" before Luang Prabang were definitely mostly from mainland China! And so too was the mob crowding around the sunset lookout point (some were speaking Cantonese, I'm guessing they were from Guangzhou)! Even the group that you surreptitiously filmed at dinnertime with Cheveyo acting the part of "vlogging to the camera" were speaking Mandarin with a Northeastern accent. Us Singaporeans like to joke that "before you even see the China tourists, you can actually hear them from a mile away"! LOL! Trust me, the Laotian people, and for that matter, virtually all the peoples of the Southeast Asian countries are way more well-mannered and friendly than the bulk of people from China. Finally, that ending totally cracked me up! 🤣🤣 Keep up the great camerawork and editing guys! I really love the sights and sounds of Laos captured through your lens! Have a Merry Christmas and a safe and awesome New Year guys! 💪💪
This was so reflective (even meditative), and you are right we can't control what happens to us but we can decide how we react. You threw me with the hannibal lector vibes at the end though...
You guys make such enjoyable video's. I loved the Jazz theme near the end, with the sax. Well, I did enjoy your attempt to be refined, loved the facial. Great work. Cheers Tony😎😎😎
We see so many amazing sunsets in Australia...very blessed...Afraid a lot of those places would do me in...Luang Prabang looks lovely tho...Duck if not dry, is delicious! A happy, peaceful and safe Christmas to you both..
Dear, Wonders! Loved Tia's detective camera work early on. And the whole thing was a great vibe. Glad to see you survived the train, suspense scenes. How come I'm always hungry after your shows? Love you both. ❤ PS: You had some flat rice noodles stuck on your faces at the end.
Extremely refined indeed!😂 I'd happily watch a vlog of the two of you anywhere in the world. As much as nobody wants to feel stressed or anxious (especially Tia) I do enjoy seeing the two of you experience more and more of the world. Which obviously brings with it a wider range of experiences and reactions. Keep looking after each other as you attempt to show off our beautiful planet to us all! Keep challenging yourselves to see new parts of the world without putting yourselves in unnecessary danger or excessive stresses. You are great ambassadors for America and your generation!❤
I understand Tia's finding it funny at the end. You are in a most beautiful part of the world. Rich in culture. Then there is this reminiscing with such a profound sounding voice about a duck and rice meal ordered a long time ago. Glad you left it in Great to see Tia having a such a big laugh
I loved that Cheveyo said panino... it is correct, but less commonly used these days, as panini is ubiquitous. And, the fading out while Cheveyo went on and on about his beloved panino was hilarious.
My favourite youtubers. This video was great because it showed us the train experience which is knowledge some of us would love to know before travelling. I really love seeing the good and bad of travelling and you did that here, thank you. Also, Australia Misses Youse,

Most south East Asian toilets just use water in the toilet. A skill to learn and get comfortable with 😊. Typically their sewage systems won’t handle paper.
Great attitude Tia. That train ride gave me anxiety just watching it, and I'm normally a very chilled out, go with flow, traveller, especially in SEA. Merry Christmas Tia and Cheveyo 🎄❤
Regarding toilet paper, The sewage system is not built to handle toilet paper which is why they use the bum gun. It's very common in South East Asia. So you should always bring your own and toss it in the garbage and not flush it.
Yea we used to do this in SEA and some parts of Europe but we’re rusty! Spent nearly a full year in just Aus and NZ. Then another 5 months in the US and Northern Europe. We’ve gone soft hahahaha
As an old Aussie with no worldly skills such as you two , let me just say “ your skills with the chopsticks were Extraordinary “ , in my best bad guy (Han)from the movie enter the dragon voice😂. I love the focus away and sound fade-out on Cheveyo's panini dissertation :)
He had me paying great attention to the ham
The music, the footage and the vibe of this one is particularly lovely and calming. 10/10 would watch again.
Yes! Loved the jazz along with the b-roll footage and the vibe they created.
