Thank u so much for such a clear explanation 😭😭😭😭😭 I've been desperate cuz I want to make a Slytherin scarf for my sister's birthday but my dumbass couldn't do the color changing right. Now I know magic ✨
Thank you for showing this. So many people on youtube show the magic knot, but they don't show how to change colors so that the old color does not intrude on the next row. Now I can actually try this and see if it works!!
Omg this is the best tutorial I've found for changing colors I swear. I've been trying so hard to do this and becoming so stressed out because of it. Thanks you!!
Where has this been all my life???!!!! This has literally changed my life!! I am a drama queen it’s true...but this has brought the joy of crochet back to me because I no longer DREAD the end of a project. I hated weaving ends in more than anything. A thousand thank you’s! 👍🏽🙏😍
Thank you so much! While I had mastered the magic knot when joining the same colour, I had no idea how to use it when changing colours at the end of the row. - the knots always ended up in the wrong place. This has changed my life lol
I agree this video helped me so much in making my crochet fingerless gloves! It was so much easier than I thought it was when you explained it. Thank you! 😊
Thank you. I am familiar with this magic knot but never knew how to actually use it into changing colors at the end of a row. People have been raging about it and now I know :)
OMG, this is exactly what I’ve been looking for. I’ve been avoiding stripes and/or too many color changes due to those darn ends to sew in but now, alas....no more ends. Thank you so very much for this video....
Thank you for this! I’ve recently started crocheting and have picked up on it fairly quickly, however changing my colors and weaving in the ends was a bit stressful and this makes it so much easier and cleaner. So, again, thank you very much for the easy to understand and thorough tutorial!
Fantastic. I’ve been using magic knots but still leaving ends to sew in as scared it will eventually unravel. Just tried your technique. Brilliant. No more ends😍
Thank you, crystalsandcrochet, for this informative and easy-to-follow tutorial. I tried it and it works. I recommend this video to anyone looking for a neater way to change colors when crocheting. Whenever I change colors, I go back to this video at 2:45 to make sure I am making the magic knot correctly. Thank you again!
This is what I needed to know!!!!! My C2C kept unraveling where I changed colors because regular knots are just not right for the.situation So I've been online looking up magic knots, and square knots, and Russian joins, and a million ways of crocheting in new yarn without using a knot. So many methods of joining, but I had no idea what I needed for my situation. This is it! Thank you so much for showing the knot and the context. Huge help, thank you, thank you.
I am so going to try that! Thank you for the tutorial! I had figured out how to make the magic knot. But, I wasn't sure how to do it & have it in the exact place I needed it like that. Thank you again!! 💖💖💖
This is absolutely brilliant! I'd viewed this video a while ago but had misplaced it in my saved videos! I'm thrilled to have found it again! Perfect answer to having fewer ends to sew in! Thank you again! Char from Phoenix, Arizona USA 🇺🇸 🏜️🌵🌄🧶
I really appreciate you taking the time to show exactly how to make the turns for the knots - when to go over and when to go under. Other videos I have seen on this technique have rushed through that technique, and I have ended up with knots that come apart.
This was very clear. Thankfully. Was ready to quit crocheting because I hate changing colors. This does seem like a lot of extra time when doing stripes in a small project like a scarf, but I’ll try it…save giving up crochet altogether.
Your method is phenomenal. I am about to start a Temperature Blanket using the Moss/Linen stitch with a colour change on every row, and your method works for that stitch as well, on a swatch I have done. Crochet life changing! 🎉 Thank you so much.
Hello I just came upon your video about changing colors, and though I knew about the magic knot, I always had trouble getting the join in the correct position. THANK YOU. so much for your knowledge. The one inch tail of the old color is perfect and has worked every time for me. 😊
You are a genius! I've been using this knot to attach a new skein (of same colour) for years, and yet I could not figure out how to use it for different colours so that there are no tail ends!
thank u sm this was such a big help. ive been trying to find a tutorial that shows you how to add new wool at the end of a finished row with no tail to work with, this was brilliant
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO! I've been searching everywhere for a video about how to get the exact length to change colors so that it's seamless. This video was so incredibly helpful!!
Here's a little tip to get it perfect. When you are finishing with the old colour and drop up a loop, before you pull out the old colour you can snip off the left side of the loop and use it as a yardstick when you are trying to determine where to put the second knot. Thank you for this video. It is definitely a game changer for me!!
This is SO helpful, thank you! After making a granny hexagon blanket as a gift, I’m DONE with weaving ends. Starting my first temperature blanket so I’m excited to use this method. Thank you for the clear demo/instructions!
I've had mixed results with the Russian knots. I have avoided working in colors because I hate weaving in ends. This method is perfect and works every time! Thank you, thank you.
I don't crochet, I knit & have been looking simply everywhere for how to use the magic knot when changing yarn colors. I'm here to tell you this works for knitting as well! Wonderful! Thank you so much for this!
Thank you for showing this I've tried it before but I always end up with a different color further down my crocheting road and then I tear it all out so I'm going to try it this way and see what happens thanks again
Great idea! I'm still trying to lose my paranoia of knotting yarn! I'm a retired sock knitter , now a crocheter, and knots are NOT part of my back history! I cringe when I see how close those ends get cut! Going to try this though, as I hate ends to darn in! Thanks!
Thank u so much for such a clear explanation 😭😭😭😭😭 I've been desperate cuz I want to make a Slytherin scarf for my sister's birthday but my dumbass couldn't do the color changing right. Now I know magic ✨
Thank you so much for this. I have crocheted for years and never knew about this knot!

I just love this! I've hunted & hunted how to change colours at the precise spot & finally got it. Thanks so much.

So much easier than all that sewing in at the end. Thanks.

Okay, I'm just going to say it. This has, quite literally, completely changed my life, lol. Thank you!!

You are a genius! I use this knot a lot but never considered using it for a row color change. Thanks for demonstrating.
