Did this ride this morning but parked for free on the bottom road next to Ladybower. It is a fantastic ride on a nice day (5.09.2023) Thank you so much for providing these videos. They have found me so many routes but I am limited due to only having an Ado A20+ Regards
Brilliant place! Went there last Saturday and spent fantastic time on bike with my wife. Many thanks for your videos. They are great and very helpful. 👍
This is a very well filmed HD video of the area.First went there 40 years ago, though it wasn't so cycle friendly back then.As a suggestion for a route to be videoed;the former railway from Bamford to Ladybower Reservoir continuing along the south side of the reservoir.I think the it's only been opened to the public in recent years.
knrsthotmail Thanks for your comments, the trail you mention, according to the internet, is known as the Thornhill Trail. I Don't think I have ridden it yet, but have walked over part of it, and been very close to it on the bike (we once pushed the bikes up win hill to drop back down on the roman road). When we are next in the area I will go and seek it out and give some feed back on it. Thanks again Steve
Just finished another ride here and instead of the full loop I just rode the right-hand side of the lakes, missing out the tarmac grind. Very enjoyable 😎
Actually it went really well, nice day for a ride. I'm an unashamedly 'good weather rider'. I had to get off & push 2 or 3 times but other than that it was great, the only confusing thing I found about the video is that you say (I think) that the hard left just before the old bridge that was repositioned is about half way, but I clocked it at about 8.5 miles so I thought I had a lot longer to go to get back to the car, but it was pretty much spot on 14 miles round trip.
The Monsal Trail, is a great route to try out, take some lights if you have some, and watch out for other trail users in the tunnels, Once your at Blackwell Mill you can grab a coffee or a cake before heading back down towards Hassop Station.
A few yrs ago doing this loop got a brilliant view of a chinook helicopter on exercise flying low level through the valley, don't know if this is a regular occurrence or not
I watch this video a few times so I decided to go down and do the course the only thing I was disappointed about was that on the east side of the trail there was more then to be expected pot holes apart from that it was a great day out ,
Aaron Miller Thanks for the comments, I believe on this video I used bikeroutetoaster.com/ to plot the course using the open cycle map. You can also use websites such as www.bikehike.co.uk/mapview.php or www.gpxeditor.co.uk/ to plan or illustrate your own routes. If it's a new route, I will usually export the GPX from the map then send it to my phone for plotting where to go :)

It's a nice area to ride in, I noticed on Strava that you had been out this way :)
Love it, the only problem is the distance I have to go to get there lol
Thank You so much for doing this video. 😊👍👍👍
Did this ride today, great guide!
Glad you enjoyed the vid and found it useful, how did the ride go?

I'll be trying a few more of the rides in your videos, Monsall Trail will probably be next.

Did this last week thanks to your video :D
You are more than welcome :)

Cheers for the comments Mike, your experience is probably not a regular occurrence as it is not something we have ever seen.
@@CycleroutesInfo yeah never seen it since but was great to witness, great video BTW 👍
The uphill section from 14:09 has become rather more rugged due to erosion over the last few months.
I'll probably be riding it again in the near future, so thanks for the heads up Jim.

Glad you tried out the route, the quality of the paths changes year on year. Cheers for the feedback!
Great videos Steve :) What is the map you are using at the beginning of the videos??
