    I'm a beginner and have lots to learn, but watching your channel is a big help. Thank you so much. The "fish stick" at the end was funny.

    Great vid guys. Listening to you both talk about how much the fishing has changed gives me a strong feeling of nostalgia, but still going out and getting a result shows good techniques and watercraft will always find the fish. Keep up the good work. Both of you are delivering better than TV (more honest) pieces to camera and are the reason I enjoy every sea fishing episode. Goes without saying Graeme, quality as always, but the two of you impart so much knowledge with thinking, it's these kind of videos that help with tackling unfamiliar venues or avoiding blanks as you rightly put it.

    Keep it up lads , we can always have fun, and sustain ourselves with a little knowledge and caring ! Thank you, It's not called Totally Awsome for nothing !!!! Cheers from Ottawa, Ontario Canada. Keep it up, hopefully the ice will melt soon, so we can take the boat out, only a 16 fts, 25 horse, does the job just fine. 😎

    The flounder getting rarer over the last ten years has been on my radar. I think the cleaner inshore waters seem to have a lot to do with it, ie not as much sewage in inshore waters. My local harbour was a great spot for flounder until the sewage improvement scheme, almost overnight the fishing for flounder was gone. Maybe the digging to install pipes out to sea was a factor also

    The only flounder I've caught in recent months was when landing a roach on feeder gear on a tidal river section. Netted the roach and somehow ended up with a small flounder at the same time! Whether it was attracted by the roach splashing about or what I don't know but complete fluke capture.

    Love inlets and estuaries for flaties, fish them on the falling tide and the are usually waiting for food to be washed down from inland. Believe it or not garden worms are great bait for these places, had a flounder almost 4 lb on an earthworm in duncormick co wexford.

    Great fun thanks guys. Haven't been beach fishing for years now, nothing coming out anywhere better to leave the bait in the ground. Cod runs are ancient history now. For me, I think it's commercial guys bringing in fish when they're breeding and full of roe. Just think of all the roe chippys sell, and all the roe laden bass they pull out. Destroying their own future. The fish haven't got a chance, they can't breed.

    How far up the river can you fish without needing a license?

    • @TAFishing
      @TAFishing  5 років тому

      Good question,as I guess you only need a freshwater license when it becomes freshwater ?...and where is that when a river is tidal ? I honestly don't know but maybe someone out there does.

      Hot Dogs work,Luncheon meat might be better. Or a mid section of Bluey or Mackerel.Catfish are weird feeders and i think shut down under certain weather conditions.

    I use an 8 oz. Sinker at the end, 10 baited hooks on lead lines. A hand thrown drop. If you hit a proper school... you are good with two casts.
    Never get greedy. My best was a 12 pound yellowtail... ruined the whole night. Stop fishing. Get drunk.
    I use earth worms, nightcrawlers. They love them, especially after a heavy rain.

    maybe the population of flouders was extream before and its now it normal , imagine the food herrings would eat, when there were millions in the Channel, every year, Cod as well, the food they ate, it goes back into the food chain, and increases populations of fish further down the food chain, so you,d get population explosions after one species decimates .............something to think about.

      Flounders seem a rare commodity nowadays on the South coast areas.
