I remember when the BR walls were still a thing...I used the Banshee a *ton* back in the day. My attitude towards it was more or less the same as when I ground out the F4U-1C; hated it at first, then grew to love it. It's one jet that's near the top of my statcard in terms of total games played, thanks to using it to grind the F-104A when that was released. I should really play this thing again now that the wing tanks are optional.
Being a WT old-head myself, I still remember the dread I would feel when I saw Mig-15/Cl-13s heading towards me in the manshee back when it was 8.0 and the ceiling was only 9. I still have a negative K/D in it, but I'm glad newer players have a chance to actually enjoy it.

Aaah my first jet. I was always so peeved at Gaijin for them putting it at such a high br, and even more peeved when I learned the wing-tip tanks were actually drop tanks that they had decided to make fixed! I am so glad they finally fixed both issues
Honestly, the A21 is one of the most sad planes that currently exist in the game… So there’s that Killing AI’s is about the only useful thing you can do. You are too slow, you turn once you are dead… Can’t climb for shit
I'm kinda glad they made the message icon thingy show the end screen summary. You can still hover over the things in there, and you get the detailed description of your gains only. Of course, not as detailed as the actual end screen but it can be something to show.

I love this news. I haven't flown my Banshee in a few months but I started using it heavily about a year ago to grind out to the F9F-8, I found even then that I liked flying it much more than the F-80A-5, partially for the speed, and mostly for the guns.
Saw the 4.3 f6f5n video is there any serious performance differences compared to the 3.3 f6f? Or should I fly the 3.3 practically the same? Love the content it brought me back to snail hell
Heavier, but still turns great if you have the right air speed. I usually set keybindings on mind to shift between 50 cals and 20mm's so you can extend your flight time and not go back to base often. never fight at low altitudes. the lowest you can get is mid altitude. Just like the F2H back then, make sure you have enough room to dive to get some speed. the room medium altitude gives you is for emergency purposes and for the sake of gaining lost air speed. don't dog fight at low alt. If there's enough time go for higher altitudes of 3-4k, if possible 5. Japanese and 109's are dangerous, but 80% of the time I've gone head on with them, I won with the 20mm set at 600m. If you can't kill them by then, they will try to turn around since they will out turn you. That mid alt is your key to gaining airspeed, get some distance, either go towards your friends, or if you're confident, turn and go for a head on. I don't really recommend headons, but it's best for setting fights quickly, since axis players, especially those that have less experience tend to get cocky and will greet your head on with a smile. Still it's a good plane. recommend you play axis planes so you can get their weakness and strengths and apply it when you're flying the hellcat
I remember when they added the F2H back in the day and it was a monster jet. Completely sweeped it's BR at that time until it got the ho-229 treatment and was nerfed into an unsuitable bracket.
Reached the plane in the US tech tree two days ago and it's definitely one to get used to but overall I like it so far and just a few hours ago I made a 5-kill game with it. There are opponents you just don't want to run into with it though like the Me 163. The Su-11 is bearable if the opponent is inexperienced with the guns but otherwise I still don't see a reason why it should be at 7.3 whereas things like the Kikka sit at 7.0 and have to face that UFO all the time. Anyways... Awesome video! Thanks a lot for the entertainment!
Great plane, great match, nice! I like using flaps a lot in F2H, cause it maintains so much energy in a dogfight vs most enemies, that it's easy to overshoot.

Pre-Br and pre-wingtip tank removal, best I've done in this plane was 5 or 6 kills in a match and it was solid for me to get me 3 kills a match in Air RB. haven't tried it since the update, but I'll take a look at it. :)

The Banshee is by far the best starter jet for America right now. 4x canons are deadly, it is extremely solid - even more so once you get 1-2 performance mods in, it climbs extremely well, it maneuvers well, holds speed, it doesn't chug on fuel... Like, compared to the Shitting Star, this is so much fucking better it's not even funny. Pick this up as your first US tier 5 plane any day of the week and you won't regret it.
This was the first jet I ever unlocked a few years ago. Not gonna lie, it kind of made me not want to play warthunder anymore after spending so much time for... this. The trend of me researching shitty or boring jets has seemed to continue until I got the sagittario.
Personally, I loved the banshee back then, the only issue I had with it was it has very bad acceleration for a BR that it was in. Still, we always found ways to deal with it, but half the time you are still trying to gain speed and altitude, the Russians were literally right on top of you and more than halfway thru the map. So mid altitudes was where I was comfy with it with enough space for a light dive just to regain some airspeed. Thing was really nasty and could turn well with flaps. It just sucked because once they drag you low, it would be hard to regain that air speed in a short time

With right flap management and a total defensive playstyle you could bait reverse/outturn anything ! My whole squadron used it and loved it at his former BR In GFRB you could clear skies and bomb in total impunity !
After watching this video. I went back to play the F2H (without the wing drop tanks, and a better crew.) I gotta say literally night and day difference. Got four kills and 2 assists.

I fear only two planes when flying this thing, the meteor and the Me163. I don't really know how to fight these planes because they out turn me and are as fast as me.
It's practically only playable for the U.S. and Russia, considering both nations have some undertiered jets, though the US has so much undertiered early jets at this point its not even funny, meanwhile other nations practically have worse performing jets or have overtiered jets. The only nation that is mostly balanced at these BRs is Britain though they have a few exceptions with a few planes.
I used to hate this plane so much that i gave up on grinding usa and grinded sweden to top tier instead but I came back to usa lately as realized how I just didn't use it properly and refused to do so
This is my first Jet ever I’m having problems with turning and blacking out also, when should I use my combat flaps it’s nothing like the P-51 I keep losing them any suggestions to not have this happen as often?
@@AlexVanChezlaw I think even without the airspawn it should be at least 4.7 because it's faster than the Bf-109 G-6 while being more maneuverable than the Bf-109 F-4.
@@pedromedeiros4955 109G-6 is faster from 1km up to 6km. 109G-6 takes 4:29 to get to 6km vs the XP-50s 5:25. The only advantages the XP-50 has over the G-6 is top speed below 1km and above 6.5ish and turn. Below 2km it is a very difficult fight for the G-6 because it can't build up a big enough of an energy advantage to overcome the better turn of the XP-50. From 2 to 4km the G-6 can. So should the XP-50 go to 4.7 without an air spawn? Arguably yes. At the same time the 109s have gone from arguably the best planes at their BRs to below average in general in the past 5 years. This is why I have said in the past I'd rather see the XP-50 at 4.3 without an airspawn first but I do think it could go to 4.7 without an airspawn and largely be fine.

Pro tip you have to create a preset weapon profile in order to drop the wingtip tanks. By default they stay attached.

Below 2km it is a very difficult fight for the G-6 because it can't build up a big enough of an energy advantage to overcome the better turn of the XP-50. From 2 to 4km the G-6 can. So should the XP-50 go to 4.7 without an air spawn? Arguably yes. At the same time the 109s have gone from arguably the best planes at their BRs to below average in general in the past 5 years. This is why I have said in the past I'd rather see the XP-50 at 4.3 without an airspawn first but I do think it could go to 4.7 without an airspawn and largely be fine.
