Hey, Tim. I was one of the "four amigos" (the second one from left to right). This happened the election night, so the REM crew looked in the audience for people who were using Obama shirts. Considering that special day, I used the one that I bought three months ago in Chicago when I went to Lollapalooza. The four guys in the audience who were using Obama shirts were invited to share the stage for a special rendition of "I Believe". Obviously, there was no time to practice some dance moves, but I had a handshake with Peter Buck. That was AWESOME!
I didn't understand who the 4 amigos were. They looked really out of place.l believe that was the ""Accelerate"" tour which l saw them in Chicago in June of '08 at the United Center. Michael had the camera do a close up of his Obama button. The highlights of the note were meeting Bertie Downs, who is such a great guy and of having America's Greatest Band play "Pilgrimage" and if u closed your eyes it was yourself in ur room putting Murmur on for the first time sounding live that nite no Different from it when l heard it the first time in '83.Sadly,that was my 9th and final time l would see the boys.Cant believe it's been 10 years.

Formidable song
"I Believe " that election was a huge letdown in hindsight and they've been doing that ever since. This is one of REM's better songs.
Thanks! My other comment was harmless, but I didn't want to start trouble.
