I mean......technically......it's not for you...... ;)

Lol like Mike Finnigan's wife's boat?
I love your fab work and attention to wiring detail, I have the same perspective, Im not interested in working on it if it's hacked up lol. Would love to work with you man.
Ive been watching kevin for a long yome now and hes second to none when it comes to fabricating racecars or i would imagine anything for that matter but the end result in his builds are impeccable..this car is gonna be wicked awesome.
Video with Kevin geeking out talking about his work is just cool.
HELL YES!!!! KSR and Steve morris! Yes please! Now you will have ALL the data!
Now Steve can have all the data
@@jasonlyijnen84hell yeah. He’s that dude lol
A Steve Morris + KSR build?? It's a dream come true! Two of the best! And then you throw Clay into the mix?? Y'all spoiling us
Well, technically already has been done with Mullet. Kevin built Mullet, Cleetus got the SMX from Steve (from his wagon!) and put it in Mullet.
@@zorrothebug There's a difference between Mullet, and Kevin and Steve putting a car together.
@@Torenhire not really if you think about it.
2 of my favourite automotive builders on a collab building a new car ... frikkin awesome.. can't wait. Huge respect for you both
Don’t forget Crew Chief Jeff
Dude’s the Jeremy Burgess of Drag
A silent achiever….👍
I love Kevins builds, he gives no F's for shortcuts and does the job like his family is in the car. Solid well thought out builds from a standup guy!
He loves to win
This interconnected racing community is amazing. Circles within circles within bigger circles, like an Amway marketing meeting. Keep it coming.
When you see , burn out marks in a companies parking lot!!
You know they are good guys!!
A Clean workshop kicks that sentiment up another notch…👍
I was about to say the same thing! Who needs a sign when the street looks like a burnout pit!
Wooohooooo!!!
We already know kevin is, possibly the best fabricator/tuner and just all around awesome dude on UA-cam... now if everyone that watches this video will just subscribe to your channel it'll just sweeten the deal that much better...
Ok Steve now you have my full attention!!!! Yes love the possibilities when you are working with Kevin from KSR!! Keep us updated on the build!!! This is great because I can watch the build on both channels!!! Can’t wait to see the SML go in Sugar Momma II
Exactly 😊
SME + KSR = Awesomeness
OMG YES!!! Yes Yes Yes! I'm blown away!
Sugar Momma 2.0!
I was freaking! Is Steve going to go for the Camaro? He's talking about it. And then.... @11:00 Success! I am stoked!
I only follow 3 motorsports channels. Cleetus, KSR, and Steve Morris. To blend these 2 together equals heaven for me to watch.
Yes!!! Hands down my 2 favorite UA-cam channels and they’re collaborating!!!!!!!!
Anyone that wants to give a hard time about your engines should appreciate the fact that those top fuel cars literally turn 540ish ROTATIONS under load before they get rebuilt. Yours go thousands of miles/ years before getting opened up. Respect.....🤜
I was like "That can't be right....540isd rotations under load??" and then I whipped out the calculator......and Damn!!. that is right. Some new information to add to the car nerd memory banks!
That's a crazy thing to get your mind wrapped around.
I assume, not counting idle time?
@@waynesuttles818 correct. 540 rotations for the run. 900 rotations if you include the burnout
Clay's always smiling !😊 what a good bugger ! Cheers from New Zealand
Floater time 2220
The wagon rear is a drag race only deal so a snap ring is OK for straight line but not so good for turning corners at high load.
The threaded floater for the Camaro is more like a NASCAR / road race application where side loads can occur.
WELL SAID
One is a tapered bearing vs roller bearing in which they still make street cars today wt out tapered bearings on the rear! Tapered bearings have more drag! I dont think it matters as long as your not road racing or nascar!
@@anthonyking4387I bet Steve could take the Wagon road racing.
I bet that snap ring, tapered deal got yanked off before I sent this. When side pressure occurs with this one, a wreck is soon to follow. 😂. I don't think Steve wants to turn any corners above 10 mph. 🫠
Kevin, Steve, Jeff, and Clay anybody else see the similarities to the four Horsemen of the Apocalypse or is it just me? Love it!
Kevin should finish this built out !
Definitely pretty awesome to have the SMX and SML showcased by the creator in two completely different style cars!
I figured he’d be looking for another chassis car soon to put one in so wasn’t overly surprised when he said what was going in
Excited to see this thing get built. Kevin always goes way above and beyond with the extras and room for improvements and this is a great example of that.
I love the effort everyone is going to in an attempt to catch the Snot Rocket. That little 302 Coyote is just amazing and the competition it's creating is great for the sport
Yes snot rocket has figured things out. Makes it look easy.
Brett's a freaking badass its unbelievable what that little mod motor is doing.
Ya let’s see what he does at any other drag and drive other than sick week Florida.
@@jkfonyi doing well again as we speak.
That car was a badazz before brett bought it as a roller then he fixed the flaws that showed there head to the previous owner
Three of my fav. UA-cam Channels represented in ONE video ... Steve Morris, KSR and Gulf Coast Driveshafts!
Steve , Thank you for taking us along on this journey. I’m excited for sugar momma 2.0
You and Kevin are both very detail oriented,I enjoy you both!
I love this car so much that I went out and bought a 2013 Camaro SS LS3 6 speed last fall! I have been waiting for it to be finished. So cool that Steve Morris is going to put his SML into it.
I welded my dad’s floor pans up in his 55 Chevy with silicon bronze, and was having reservations about it due to lower tensile strength. It makes me feel a lot better knowing Kevin made the same choice. If it’s strong enough to withstand the power of a car with a Steve Morris in it, my dad’s car will be plenty strong enough.
@@Aduki65 Which is why I decided to use silicon bronze, but I always had that pessimist voice doubting my decision lol. My dad’s 55 is everything to him, and because I know what it means to him, I wanted to do a good job. Like Kevin, I opted to use silicon, because it’s extremely forgiving and very easy to weld with minimal heat lowering the risk of warping the sheet metal. My Pah’s 55 has a big block in it, and the vibration was more of a concern than anything. I know it’ll be fine, it’s just that damn doubt that inevitably finds its way past the bouncer at the door.
When powder coating a frame against the floor if you hold a wire in your hand for a ground and wedge the tip of you ground wire in between the cage and the floor it will eliminate the Faraday cage affect and get coverage, did it for 7 years...
HOLY CRAP. Good for you.
This was awesome. New car in the works and then to be topped with our favorite Top Fuel Team and driver, Clay. Nobody has represented Top Fuel and the NHRA as Clay has, for sure. Never saw the backside of the TF wheel with the machining feature that was mandated after the unfortunate event at the Arizona Nationals years ago.
two of the coolest car channels on the 'Tube coming together, joining forces....super stoked to see this car get built out!!
Two OCD professionals, what could go wrong?
Right at the very end: A teaser that Steve will tell us _what he thinks is interesting on the top fuel stuff Clay showed him_ ...
Just go and take a moment to properly let that sink in. That promises to be awesome!!!
I love all of Steve's "oooh 😯(fascinated Steve)" moments 😅
What a GREAT MORRIS FAMILY and KSR gathering. Kevin and Steve are so driven. Love the welds and details of this car..
It really amazes me how many people don't understand simple concepts like full floating axles. For anyone doubting it's safety, every single semi, dump, concrete, etc. truck you see on the road as 2 full floating axles on the rear. They break axle shafts all the time and the wheels stay on. You just pull the axle shaft out and stick another in.
Not to mention all the 3/4 and 1 ton tow pigs hauling race cars and everything else oh yeah what about your four wheel drive front axles (at least older stuff)
That’s hilarious that you are building a car almost identical to Clark’s.
Clark will probably do a lot of work on it so may as well make him feel at home! Lol
1400lbs lighter!
@@briankearn6991- Yeah, it definitely will be significantly lighter. Not sure if it will be THAT much lighter.
@@danmyers9372yeah from watching the video it’s gonna have some the same fat kid problems that mullet has not as bad obviously but them steel floors, doors and a few other things aren’t light
@@danmyers9372
In a video with Steve, Clark said his car is 4200lbs.
In this video they say this car will be 2800lbs.
Excited to see your new project come together Steve and Kevin!
I absolutely love the concept of the Sugar Momma 8.50 car and I hope you yall don't give up on it. That being said, this new build is going to be on another level!
Ok, honestly who didn't see this coming. I'm seriously happy to see what some of the best automotive minds of our time can make happen together. Freakin awesome!! Next, Soccer mom with a SML, ONLY A MATTER OF TIME!!!
Yep. That’s how I think. Dominates
I don’t think it’ll be soccer mom though. He doesn’t want to put the top cage in it
Roll
As a follower of both of you i cant wait for more of this build! Follow Clay too!
Steve liked Mullet so much he wants Kevin to make Mom one! Kevin is a wizard!
I like KSRs work. The attention to detail is impressive. That's going to be a great addition to the fleet.
Pretty sure we ALL support this message.😂 Steve Morris and his Powerhouse plant and KSR car set up. As the Fast & Furious once said WILL DESTROY ALL.
Great video -- I'm looking forward to Kevin working toward completing his part of the project and then you folks taking it to its completion, testing and then RACING. (Val will have a hard time getting the smile off her face when the car gets in your possession. It's apparent she's already looking forward to getting her helmet on and getting into the car.)
The two most informative automotive performance UA-cam channels working together. Sweet deal!
So excited to see Steve get into the nitty gritty details of top fuel!
Damn- I'm old, was street racing in 07 Kevin was a player-- 2024, I'm still racing!
Florida Hell Yeah..
Very cool! Looking forward to seeing this on the strip.
Steve and Kevin, y'all rock! Love the collab. Peace 🤘 💥 ✌️
I've been asking for a ksr Steve Morris build for a long time
I'm excited for KSR and Steve Morris on this build !
Thank you so much Steve and kevin!
Thank you so much Clay And RWR
Rick Ware for the win!
That camaro is sick
Awesome seeing you and Kevin working together love both you guys channel.
For those that don’t know the difference between a floater and non floater diff are where the weight of the vehicle is supported.
Non floater the axle shaft sitting on the bearings in the diff housing and carrier assembly in the diff housing take the entire weight of the vehicle and the axles using retained by clips inside the carrier. Bearings in the carrier will be tapered rollers and the ones at the end of the axle tubes will be ball bearings or straight roller bearings
Full floating the weight of the vehicle is taken by the bearings and on the diff housing. This is why you can remove the axles without taking the wheels off and opening the diff up. Bearing will be tapered roller bearings in passenger vehicle and truck and coach applications which require a preload like Steve said. Spec for passenger cars vary but truck and coach has a national standard of .001-.005in
Hope that clears things up for people
I follow both channels and have always wondered what was going on with that 5th Gen. This is going to be a cool build. Hopefully you guys wrap it to separate it from Clarks car.
Thank you for the video. Excited to see it finished
Very excited to see this on track with the family. Thumbs up guys!
I am always learning something new from you and your videos , Thanks
Your sound quality is much better than Kevin's lol
Commenting to support your channel hoping you keep making this awesome content. Very, very cool new project, love to get a detailed technical tour trough the chassis like this. A family drag car... I have maintained my cars and bikes with my dad for whole my life. You guys are one upping the dream!
Awesome awesome content 💯. Thank you for sharing.
Silicon Bronze is also used by cage builders because it wont crack from vibration after a couple of seasons. Its super strong for where its been used plus like kev said les heat into the cage and the sheet metal so no warping and the bars dont lose strength from heat
Your lovely wife is a great add to the channel.
I think so too!
Looking good!
Good luck with the new car wow.
You definitely getting a car from the right guy, Kevin is a Master of Drag and Drive Car's, his attention to detail and have tons of data is #1, he's also a great guy.
Cool how long have you known Kevin and what kind of car did he build for you ?
@@jkfonyi- 🤣
Finally thie car sees some light! I was wondering what happened to the car... Now we know! Anxious to se it finished ! 😁😈
Great content thanks 2 of greats i enjoy watching together in one video
Awsome, great stuff in the works love the channels really cool to see love it.
That Camaro couldn't have gone to a better Home! So cool to see all my favorite UA-camrs in each other's videos! Clay, Kevin, Steve etc!
Shuld be a GD one man, Kev is no joke, dudes a master, no dout its gona work well,, Sure hope Clark dont get mad at U Steve,,lol!!!🏁🏁
That is exactly how our winters quick change rears are setup.
59 👍's up Steve Morris thank you for sharing 🤗
Awesome video with your wife great time well spent together memories ❤️
Man you never fail to impress me! Love this channel always always always watch the videos and learn something new every time.
Nice car Steve. So looking forward to the build!
Great video thanks for sharing.
It's great to see old friends get back together after so many years. 😎💯
Well, Steve, if you'd been watching Clay's channel, you wouldn't have been so gobsmacked...
He has given us way more than just a glimpse into the inner workings of TF.
I was just like you when I saw it... it's a different world.
I'll have to see if I can find a YT vid which gave a back door view into John Force's op.
I think I was looking at an MSC vid, (my wife works for them), & they interviewed the guy in charge of their CNC ops; they carve their engines, blocks, etc... just like someone else I know of. ;)
Great lookin' Camaro. You are building a stable of very fine race cars. You were pinching yourself recently about the wagon; now you're gonna have two very nice play toys.
Couldn't happen to a better guy. Good on ya!
GeoD
Oh boy, that is a nice build! That should be fast!
Sweet Video ! Thanks for sharing !
Congrats on the purchase Steve!
That's gonna be 1 Bad Ass car... I'd definitely go with a super exotic candy powder coat. Just because them with just a factory clean paint job that sick ass chassis & cage will be highlighted.
Just my 2 cents Bro.
Safe travels home!
As cool as the crazy powder coat colors look they’re so difficult to match with a rattle can after any repairs or welding (crack repairs and such)that if you have ocd you end up eventually having to strip the car and get it redone
I remember in my 77 F250 High Boy breaking both axle shaft on the Dana 60 Amazing how 39x18 M/T grip on asphalt when you also push them with a nice Big Block. Same truck the driveshaft between trans and Transfer Case i twisted up like a pretzel at a different time. Good times driving over cars even ones girls make illegal u turns in lol
Excellent more content between great car guys and racers !! Cant wait for the videos on that Camaro !!
Love this content again.
And love you and Kevin doing this together
Can't wait for more content on this build.
Awesome to see you guys get together on this. Cant wait
Us too!
Great shop to build the car
Holy cow. Steve Morris and Kevin Smith together on the same car. One doing the chassis, one building the bullet. This thing is going to be a bad mother trucker!!
Thats gonna be a sick car. Kevin does great work.
LUV LUV THE CAMARO! This is the cats meow for your wife. Can't wait to see her in this at SIC week.😀
You got the Cleetus treatment, best car ever
You guys posted almost the same time. I just watched Kevin's video. Gonna be bad ass car when it's done
Just watched Kevin's video... It is so nice to have ... Sound. 🤣🤣🤣
I’m super excited for this build!!!
Great content thanks for sharing
Floaters, is all I have ever ran, The nut I like uses a pinch style, or you can use a bend tab, I have always use tapered brgs [timken] more surface area, and lubricate from the diff oil [1gal] then I machine a sleeve that goes in between to set preload, I have floaters on original brg's that are 25 years old and this all in off road racing. We torque at 150lbs. Just a couple of thoughts
Kevin is a great guy glad your doing business with him Steve. Love you and your Family best of luck with new car as well as i can't wait to see the Wagon too.
THIS WAS A SUPER GREAT VIDEO I WAS WONDERING IF THAT CAR WOULD BE REPLACED NOW I KNOW THAT CAT. I KNOW WILL HAVE A GREAT FUTURE CANT WAIT FOR NEXT ONE
Nice video for the future of this car. Steve, you made fella a little nervous with some of your questions.. like the one about the chemical used in the fire tank. You can tell he respects you a lot.
Cool addition. That will be great for the family and the business.
Definitely!
How exciting. Congrats
Damn.... what a great community!! Kevin is so awesome!! That car is gonna rock!!❤😊
