my interpretation of today's proverb is slightly different. I believe it resonates with the size of watermelons against the capacity of the hand to carry them. basically means don't expect people to handle a task beyond their capabilities...
Don’t be fooled by “ advanced economies “, America for example, housing and affordability are real here in America. Kenyans make cardinal sin every time they compare their housing problems with western standard. Localize your issues and solutions.
As @kemboichesimet1810 has stated: it is a cardinal sin for Kenya (equivalent to Texas in geographic size) to compare itself with America. WE - indeed Africa - can and must do better! The Americans have NEVER had over 66% homeownership. For most of history it has hov ered between 55%-63%. Africa - before the colonialist arrived, had 100% land and home ownership! The top 10% in America OWN 70% OF the wealth in America! The bottom 50% Own only 2.5% of the wealth in America! This is nothing to emulate as Africans whose DNA echoes ancestors who owned and ruled the ENTIRE CONTINENT and everyone had a fitted place in it. This "poverty" we see in Africa is directly manufactured by colonialism, neo-colonialsim, and the institutions of white supremacy that governed the world in the past century or two. When China turned her back on Western Imperialism with shrewd decisions, she subsequently raise almost 700M Chinese out of poverty - proof that the poverty was part of a colonial/imperial mindset.
