- An impromptu summit to summit session saw four activators out on summits that are seldom activated on VHF and UHF, and all because Viki M6BWA was up on holiday (she only does 2m and 70cm). Great fun!

Great video Fraser. Good to hear Viki. I think she single handedly keeps 70cm going! I do enjoy 2m/70cm, as you say it often surprises me what's possible. I've spoken to Viki on a few summits from my home shack which i wouldnt have thought were possible.
When Viki and Rod were up in Aberdeenshire, we mobilised all of the locals, so she managed to qualify summits on 70m and 2m that were in really remote locations. Great fun!
That looked a nice walk and Summit. When I first started SOTA there was lots more VHF activity than nowadays. Good run of QSO's there and on a weekday too! Loved the unintentional test of the SOTAbeams filter 😃Hope you and Mo have a great Christmas and all the best to you both for 2024. 73 Chris M0RSF

Have fun! I'm working all weekend 😩
If I brought an HT to Europe with me this weekend on a trip (specifically Germany and Switzerland )what 2M and 70 CM calling freq would I monitor for SOTA and POTA activation's along my route?
Bob, Set your radio to narrow deviation/NFM and 12.5KHz channel spacing. 145.500MHz and 433.500MHz are the two calling frequencies.
@@theradiorover thank you.
Nice one bonny lad. I really enjoyed that. Still didn't find a rig to get on 2m, 73.
Great fun Brian!!
@@theradiorover have a nice holiday.
Merry Christmas! @@brianfields4479
Slim G does work remarkably well on 70cm, but not with a 2m band pass filter inline 😂
I Know! 🙉
Antenna is?
It is a slim G, available from Sprectum Communications. Highly recommended.
