It's good to hear your PROFESSIONAL opinion for a change.
Great video, getting my IEM knowledge on. Looking at upgrading my headphones since they now sound like crap compared to my speakers and main rig. First world problems. Lol. I would like duel purpose IEMs. Mainly for music listening but also when i want to play my guitar in silence.
After playing Bish at 200+ decibels, you are lucky to still be alive. I typed in How Loud A Sound Can Cause Damage? 177 decibels can cause erratic breathing and tremors. 185 decibels can cause internal Organ Damage (not Bish's instrument An 1100 decibel sound would destroy the universe, and create a black hole with an event horizon bigger than the known universe. So if you were playing Bish at over 200 db, that's about 1/5 as what would destroy the entire universe. Watch it.... For your sake and ours!
If you're saying God's music could be used to destroy heretics, I feel it's my duty to science to find out.
Back in the 1990s, there was aan audiophile recording ofJapanese Kodo drums, a popular and much talked about recordings. It's uncompressed dynamics and bass impact were blowing out some people's speakers. When telling a friend about it, some people were like "Cool Man". "I got to get that recording for myself man." "What's it called again man?"
The sad news is that even cable risers didn't help.
The decibel scale is logarithmic, not linear. A 1100db sound is 10^90 times louder than a 200db sound, not ~5 times.
Nothing better to do on a Friday night? I said 1/5 meaning decibels, not 1/5 meaning 1/5 as loud. I know about all that. But thanks!
@@sidesup8286 My apologies, was just sharing to be informative.
Great reviews. What would you recommend a singer on stage for around $100. 🎤✌️.. Would you go again with the Simgot ea 500LM?
Yes, an excellent, though not perfect, iem are the 500LM’s.
Quick question huh..
Are these.. or the pro x20 suitable for daily use? Music.. movies.. etc?
Like.. the sound is good? Not bad
Just wanna try something new than my shure se215
Then there is the pro gold…. And the pro gold signature ( which pro signed it?)
So true
Im all about sizel . price kinda steep though.😮.
this is the funniest youtube video I've ever watched
There's nothing funny about my channel or my videos. Thanks for the view.
I feel like a despicable villain as I listening to this video with the truthear nova's.
as someone that can't hear all that much beyond 16khz, there's scientific evidence for ultra-high frequencies positively affecting the listening experience even if you can't hear them.
Do you use these for daily use? 🤔
No, I don’t use them at all. For wired I use Simgot EA-500 LM
@@scientificaudiophile why do you not use them? Are they bad? Xd
@gmbh8443 Boring is a better term. They're great with EQ, but if I'm on the go and want a pair of decent wired IEMs, I grab the Simgots.
@@scientificaudiophile i cant buy those..
I can only buy shure and westone..
But can i use these for daily? -.-
@@scientificaudiophile wdym boring 😭
Hi #scientific we have tons of IEMs
Plz suggest an IEMs with good sound quality irrespective of hype
For 100$,200$,300$
I really like the simgot ea 500 lm, at under $100.
@ Tq
👍😎👍
Latest phones 📱 no longer
use headphone jack 😮
Unfortunately Apple has started a trend and wired iems may be dinosaurs soon.
7:16 🤣watching you in iPhone 13….PRO 🤣🤣
Apple makes adapters for the iPhone. They have one for Lightning to 3.5mm and another for USB-C to 3.5mm. They both only cost $9.00 so it's not like you can't use IEMs with their phones.
11:06 Old Guy …and not in Thailand 😵💫
A good thing we have Sony Xperia then
I was pleased to see that you didn’t have a man bun
Stage guys don't need any fatigue from their monitors...
Bass players? Left out again?
What are the speakers behind you?
AI created.
I’m only 28 but I guess that makes me an old man :(
6:07 epic cinema
Well I heard your mom was a professional therapist.
Sorry, I don’t mean it. you triggered me on the 200db Bish comment, I feel like you might be using a little satire, and you did not actual play bish at 200 db, which personally, I find offensive., especially in a battle against the wiggles. And how did you know I can’t hear over 16kHz?
No satire in any of my videos. The Wiggle War, WW as it is now known in my town, is not over WW2 may be coming!
It's Pro, not a hobby!
This review is, as almost always, witty, funny and fully of pungent sarcasm. But I don't agree at all with the content. A flat bass extension is NOT neutral for headphones, even less so for IEMs. Maybe you did not understand the Harman research properly, but their target curves (2018 for OE and 2019 for IEM) are the equivalence to flat speakers in an anechoic room and a downward sloping FR for speakers in a room. Flat bass extension in IEMs is definitely too little bass. Also this IEM has a serious dip at 1 kHz and a much too weak ear gain region between 2 and 6 kHZ. Not neutral at all and pretty bad for the money.
The Harman Target curve of 2018 appears to be a preference curve more than creating an a curve equivalent to a speaker in an anechoic chamber
pro.harman.com/insights/akg/defining-the-standard-the-science-behind-akg-reference-response-studio-headphones/#:~:text=%E2%80%9CA%20headphone%20target%20curve%20is,sample%20of%2010%20trained%20listeners.
There is theory that “flat” bass is not actually flat due to IEMs bleeding bass and lower mids compared to how they actually measure.
@@scientificaudiophile true, it IS a preference curve, but one that has been obtained through statistically significant listener data, including a lot of trained listeners. So it has a lot of foundation and can be considered to be the equivalent for headphones to speakers in a room.
This IEM reminds me of the Jerry Harvey 13v2 with its massive 8kHz peak. This is definitely not a professional-grade IEM. Sosokraut mentioned that they have a suck-out from 2-6kHz and a dip at 1kHz, which kills engagement and makes the frequency response incredibly unsmooth.
The Harman target, although a preference target, is based on extensive research. The diffuse field target was created by measuring the average frequency response of sounds arriving at a HATS’ ear canal from all directions. These sounds (pink noise) were produced by speakers that measured flat on axis in an anechoic chamber. This frequency response formed the base for the Harman Target. However, since a dummy head cannot simulate a human’s HRTF super accurately, trained listeners made adjustments to the target through listening tests, eventually resulting in the Harman target. It is frankly the best and most thoroughly researched target for headphones and IEMs.
For $500, the Westone Pro X30 is seriously not worth it, considering that it has no compliance with the Harman IE 2019 target and no extension above 16kHz. I’m sorry, SA, but it almost felt like you were being sponsored in this video.
@@nl8063 Harman 2019 IE has a myriad of problems imho but in general yes the westones have quite poor objective metrics. Like $20 single dynamic chifi probably has better distortion and for sure has better bass extension and treble smoothness.
