The guitar player Tommy is not wearing a random uniform, but he is wearing a Swedish Carolinian uniform. Sabaton also has an album about Sweden at that time. You should listen to more Sabaton songs and they even have a history channel that tells you the story behind each video. Some of my favorites lejonet från norden, Carolus rex, To hell and back, No bullits fly and Bismark. I can also recommend The Hives - Bogus Operandi (Official Video)
The assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria, June 28th, 1914, in Sarajevo. Sabaton has a song "Sarajevo" about this event, which knocked over the dominoes of European royalty, Queen Victoria's grand-children, who as in any family squabble, take sides and make alliances. Unfortunately for the citizens, they were pawns, fighting in trenches, sometimes observing a Christmas Truce, also a song, but getting killed. They weren't getting to drink champagne or eat well as the royals were.
The music on the credits is written and performed by cellist Tina Guo, a member of the exapanded Sabaton family. You can hear and see her in the Steel Commanders video.
Love that they included Motorhead in the video, Sabaton is a class act. The cello on the end credits was played by Tina Guo, she has worked with Sabaton several times. Lead singer Joakim Broden and bassist Par Sundstrom are the primary songwriters ,and only original members left. Chris Rorland and Tommy Johansson on guitar, that was Tommy on the solo in the battlefield scene. And drummer Hannes van Dahl(husband of Nightwish's Floor Jansen). For more try Christmas Truce and Bismarck music videos. Animated story videos for Night Witches, No Bullets Fly, The Red Baron, and Lady of the Dark. Or En Livstid I Krig, live from the Great Tour in Gothenburg Sweden. And for a more in depth look at the story behind the music, go to the Sabaton History Channel, an episode for every song.
Welcome to the world of Sabaton. All the different soldiers are nods to other Sabaton songs. Not revolutionary soldiers. The bandmembers are dressed as swedish carolean soldiers, ca 1700, when the swedish army was at it mightiest. That's still in use by the swedish Royal Lifeguards, one of the oldest lifeguards regiments in Europe, dating back to early 1520ies.

The Animated STORY video, specifically for "No bullets fly" and "Night Witches". For "Bismark" and especially for "Christmas Truce" the original music videos, is what I recommend.
You can't really go wrong with any Sabaton song, but Ghost Division or Uprising live in Woodstock, Poland would show more energetic side of Sabaton and their live prowess. For tear-jerkers, Christmas Truce, official video, or En Livstid i Krig, live in Gothenburg, would be recommended. They are deeply touching.
[I hope you'll forgive a pasted comment, it took me a while to write the first time.] I saw Sabaton perform this live in Leeds on the first night of the current tour, and it was so emotional. So let's raise a few glasses: to Birmingham, birthplace of metal; to Lemmy (RIP); to Sabaton; and to those who sacrificed so much. My wife's grandfather was one of those who lied about his age - he was only _14_ when he went to the Front! He got out alive, thanks to some amazing luck: he was wounded and taken to a field hospital, and his own father was there at the same time. He swore a lot when he saw his son, then wrote to his wife back home explaining the situation. She in turn sent evidence of their boy's age to the War Office and they pulled him out. After he came home he never spoke to anyone in the family about his experiences. Greetings from South Yorkshire - Lest We Forget.
as a former soldier of the british army who fought in iraq, nowt makes me cry, but this song got me bawling, which is very shocking considering after an IED took my leg, i developed Alexithymia (inability to express any emotion) the original version of this song by lemmy broke that and gave me my emotions back, and now this one makes me feel nothing but emotional pride

Hannes, the drummer (the blond guy with the cap backwards), is married to Floor from Nightwish. Lucky bastard he is! Oh, by the way, I would discribe Motörheads "1916" as a funeral march, like this battle was. RIP Lemmy! The Motörhead version is slower, by the way....
Why do many reactors just cut the vid and not honor all of the people that made this vid possible. A Sabaton video goes to the end. Just think of how many that missed a certain singer in Christmas Truce with the comment "it's just creds". Next time, watch til the end. But still a good reaction. Thank you!

No Bullets Fly is amazing. Pick the extended animated version, it will explain the story behind the song, and the full story is not to be missed. The band has put out some great animated videos. The music video version of Bismark is also wonderful. The music video version of A Christmas Truce is another winner.

Sabaton is amazing. I used their music as part of our homeschooling curriculum for my sons. It's a freat way to teach history. And keep them interested. They also have a history channel. My favorite song by them is The Last Stand. And Uprising, live at Woodstock. 💕
For all the brave souls who where forced to waste their lives on the battlefield. All the good deeds you could have done - we'll never know. What we do know is that you'll be missed.
My favorite thing ever said about Lemmy was at his funeral by Dave Grohl when telling the story about the first time he talked to him: "I told myself 'No, when are you ever going to be able to talk to Lemmy?' He was intimidating, I saw him as this Bad-Ass, Cigarette-smoking, Whiskey drinking Rockstar. So, I gathered my courage, went up to him, said ' Hi, I'm Dave Grohl, I'm....I'm in a band called Nirvana.' And the first thing Lemmy ever said to me was 'Hey, I'm sorry to hear about your friend' And in that moment, He went from that Baddass, cigarette-smoking, whiskey drinking rockstar to that Baddass, cigarette-smoking, whiskey drinking rockstar...with a heart." I put quotes around that, but it's paraphrased.
Imagine being the soldiers who survived the entirety of the war. The damage to their psyche must have been immense. Interesting side note about World War 1 is that there was a soldier Peter Conover Hains who served throughout the Civil War and then fought in World War 1. At the age of 76 he was the oldest Officer.
Sabaton is masters on telling stories from historic war events and topics. The message they give is always to not forget the past and all mistakes and take on subjects as PTSD and so on. Learn from history! I can recommend some of their songs as Christmas truce, No bullets fly, En livstid I krig ( live from Gothenburg, in Swedish so subtitles on) and To hell and back. There are, of course, a lot more, but they are my favourites. Sabaton have also their own history channel on UA-cam, where they tell the story of their songs history wise. Very interesting. From that, I can recommend the story for the song Inmate 4859. A truly insane story of a Polish Intel officer that volunteered to get caught and put in Auschwitz concentration camp to reveal what happend inside. At the time no one knew what happened there. He stayed there for three years before he broke out and fled. Just see it and learn!
all is already said.. do more Sabaton (and watch Sabaton and NW to the end) you will love it abd you will cry too Greetings from NW-Army-Germany and SabatonFan❤🔥
Sabaton songs highlight the sacrifice, honor, bravery, and humanity of the individuals and groups in the cauldron of war. Not sure if you prefer music videos or live performances but Sabaton does not disappoint with either. Their music videos tend to be epic, well produced works of art and their live performances are high energy with lots of crowd interaction. Joakim is a baritone, unusual for a metal band so he naturally sings in a lower register. Interesting fact; he has no formal training and started as the keyboard player. Sabaton did not have a vocalist and he had written several songs so they asked him to sing until they found a vocalist and as he puts it "They never did. lazy bastards." I would highly recommend diving into Blind Guardian. Most people will say start with the "Bard's Song" but to me it is not really representative of their typical sound. I would start with "And Then There Was Silence" for their older music or "Blood of the Elves" for newer music. Their newest album is filled with bangers. Great reaction, hope you continue down the Sabaton and Blind Guardian rabbit holes, both are epic adventures.
Sabaton have a great mix of balad and faster songs. Balad of Bull is a slower song ( Lesley 'Bull' Allen ANZAC VC recipient), some of their songs are flat out power metal and others are a mix of speeds. Those weren't Centurion, they were Spartans, also depicted were Harlem Hellfighters (WW1 African American soldiers who served in the French Army), the lady in uniform was a Soviet WW2 Night Witch biplane pilot (588 Night Bomber Regiment). 101st Airborne WW2 were firing the 50cal machine gun and marching in the crowd and the Gutiarist is dressed in the uniform of the Royal Swedish Army 1700s, there is just too many uniforms and nations to name in this video. All soldiers depicted are from the songs have made.
If you go for Sabaton, one of the most popular and most reviewed music video was "Bismarck" about the German battleship in WWII. But almost all of their songs and videos are great 👍
Great reaction. I love U both, but the dude on the right side has an incredible voice. He should be a speaker for radio stations or for hearing books. Greetings from Germany
I would say that this is someting that not fit in there original kind of music. But is contains The feeling of Sabaton. Please do another video from them to get The right feeling. For example "Bismark", "NO bullets fly", "Steel commander" or "Ghost devision (live)". Love to see more from you.
You skipped the credits. Why did you skip the credits? The people who made and/or participated in the video would have deserved the recognition, don't you think? Maybe I skip the credits on _your_ next video too? And the intro? And maybe the whole video...
Reaction to tommy johansson videos i suggeste is to get a idea of his range, plus instrument skills. Then after hear tommy cover of ac/dc thunderstuck there are a top 3 versions för me
I would absolutely give Sabaton more listens, I know you were a bit “meh” with the vocals but they have some truly amazing stuff. Bismarck, Dreadnaught, Night Witches, Attack of the Dead Men, Defense of Moscow, The Last Stand, Father, Sparta, and Carolus Rex (both English and Swedish versions) are all great songs to get more hyped with, just to name a few.

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but the Sabaton drummer is married the the Dutch metal goddess, Floor Jansen.
Then after hear tommy cover of ac/dc thunderstuck there are a top 3 versions för me
No Bullets Fly (Yarnhub edition), Bismark, Valley of Death, The last stand, Night Witches, Christmas Truce.... react to them please!
So also review tommy Johnsson, its a eye opener how world talent this band /love are
Lemmy was a history buff. We are motorhead
...and we play rock n roll. Good books. White Line Fever, Lemmy. Covenant With Death, John Harris.
Please do Christmas Truce!! It's an amazing story, tolded in a beautiful song!!
Bismarck would've been a better introduction to Sabaton followed by Christmas Truce and No Bullets Fly animated story video.
In both versions the tempo is slow march.
The late Gordon Lightfoot could have done this song proud.
Recomended songs
Live:
En listed I Crig

Probably
Armored Knights Foot? Sounds like Metal that Kicks…
Personaly I prevere Sabatons version.
I like to refer to Sabaton as 'Valor Metal'
For a more upbeat song, I'd recommend the live version of Ghost division at Woodstock in Poland....Really...you...need...it.....like...man you need it 😏😋🍻
Yes, great suggestion about Woodstock in Poland:) For a smaller venue, there's a fan's camera: Sabaton - Ghost Division + Stormtroopers [Live in Portland 9/17/22]
sabaton starter classic ghost division live
I recommend you to look at Sabaton Race to the sea.
Soilder of heaven
Livstid i krig (lifetime at war)
You should watch Fields of Verdun for their more natural sound.
Zum Thema WW I empfehle ich: Hannes Wader "Es ist an der Zeit"
Es ist weniger martialisch. Es stellt meines Erachtens die Sinnlosigkeit des Krieges in den Vordergrund.
Swedes, The Pirate Bay uhm. You are 20 years behind
Tommy Johansen do a cover each week, but try to listen to you raise me up 1 octave Challenge, steelheart's she gone, even his new Abba cover, Queen"'s who wants to live forever (typical sabaton style they tribute persons or historie event) they watch tommy sings Elton John cover of lion King (show a other talent side of tommy is there any thing tommy not can do) tommy have even his own solo band, ReinXeed but now rename to majastic)
Really love this cover, makes me always shiver. And great reaction as usual, i really appreciate your videos. For suggestions:
