- Today on our 9-month Royal Caribbean Ultimate World Cruise we are in Montevideo Uruguay enjoying the wonderful wines and culture of the region. We Visit a local winery where we have a wonderful tasting experience with tapas and an amazing show from local performers. We also discuss the “Flooding” that happened on the ship and have a GREAT sushi and sake paring at the onboard Japanese Restaurant.

Great video, my home country Uruguay, I lived in Punta Del Este, about 2 hrs from Montevideo. I'm surprised they didn't stop there, like I commented on the previous video I used to work at the port where the ships arrived and it would have been beautiful to see that marina that has a ton of selling boats, and white buildings near by, a vibe similar to Greece I would say. Montevideo is more like a historic town, It would have been neat to see the Centenario stadium, one of the biggest in Latin America. Also the cathedrals are worth seeing as most are covered in gold, in Maldonado about 2hrs as well near Montevideo, is probably the most beautiful one I have seen, it rivals any cathedrals in Europe, I was baptized there. Looking forward to the next video.
I was also hoping that they’d go to Punta. Next time 😊

My mom and I have been watching your videos for several months now (once we found out my cousins were on the cruise, too), and we’d been looking in the background of all your videos or them ever since. Somehow we MISSED this video, and wouldn’t you know, it’s in THIS video where we saw them! At the 7:44 mark, they’re sitting right across the table at the winery from you (Carol and James “Peanut”)! They're certainly are some tiktokers, primarily those that aren't even on the cruise, who are just trying to generate clicks. However, we really do have some wonderful people who are on tiktok, such as Brooklyn qho are doing a good job documenting their cruise with their own special Style

I am retiring this year from teaching and have booked a 56-day cruise from Sydney to London in June 2025 and I would love to hear your advice on getting ready for a longer voyage and how to make the most out of the adventure.

It's nice to see what it's really like from real cruisers and not these "influencers" that are onboard. In fact, heart this morning I saw a post on Facebook that said someone on the world cruise said something to the waiters and they all gasped, and there was one word that people onboard were banned from saying. 🙄
I think I know what you’re talking about. If you’re referring to the word being titanic. But really, no one cares if someone talks about the titanic aboard the ship. It’s all just conversation.

That's a very good question. Yes, we do. The ship has lots of quiet nooks and crannies to go have some time. Nancy likes to do some crafts like counted cross stitch. And I focus on editing videos, 😁that's my hobby when she's doing that.

I am curious about your "group". Did you know any of these people before this cruise...or did you meet all of them when your cruise activities began? It seems you've really hit it off and I'm sure that makes it very enjoyable.
They really are a wonderful group of people. No, we did not really know them before the cruise, except through online connections and cruise planning. As the cruise got closer, we actually even had some Zoom calls with some people that are in that group, and once we got on board, the friendships naturally formed. It really is wonderful to have a group like that to share this adventure. So many people when they get into phase two of life really to struggle making new adult friends, without the children there to be the glue that holds friendships together. So we feel very fortunate

I think what has happened is when do upload the video early we put it as "unlisted." This means there are ways you can find it but UA-cam should not push it and it's not listed on our channel. But we have noticed some people are viewing them somehow. And then, as we move forward in the cruise then we officially publish them. To be honest, we're not sure how some people are finding the unlisted videos either. But we're honored that people are that dedicated find our videos😁

I really enjoy your vlogs. Your vlogs informative and very I interesting. I was wondering how many people on the ship qualify for the wonders and special tours? 1000s? Thank you.
There are 665 of us doing the full world cruise. However, a small number of those people were relatively new to cruising and did not have enough points to qualify for the bonus excursions. I would guess probably 600 people qualify.
The food and wine looked tasty, are any of the white sparkling wines sweet or are they all dry? I’m always on the lookout for a sweet sparkling white wine like Moscato 🤤. Great to see you get off the ship for an overnight stay somewhere, a break in the program keeps things interesting. I wish cruise companies would use their newer ships for these long cruises but I guess that would just put the cost of the cruise up. Looking forward to seeing the falls 👍
There is a great variety between suite and dry wines. Some of the newer ships are just massive and are not practical for doing some of these longer itineraries as they could not get into some of these ports due to their massive size.
Thank you for explaining about being able to bring wine back on, how did they handle bringing cognac back?
They hold any liquor for us, but then return it to us at the end of the cruise.
Hi! Avid cruisers here who love watching your take on this incredible experience! Curious as to how Royal Caribbean is handling 9-month guests bringing back alcohol to the ship and allowing you to consume while still sailing? We love your videos, keep it up! 😊🛳️
As being a full nine month world cruiser, we can bring wine back on board and take it to our cabin for consumption. Really, it benefits royal because we have the unlimited drinking package so they’re probably happy when we drink our own wine rather than theirs.

Good suggestion, we'll do that nice thing about being full world Cruisers is Royal Caribbean does give us 50% off the regular prices. So as an example the Italian restaurant on board is about $55 so for us it's a little less than 30 a person to eat there

That's a good question. Yes they restock at various ports. Every once in awhile in one of our videos will give some shots of them restocking the ship.
And the "Crown and Anchor" club must be what the tik tok comments were about. As a newbie, they would not get the 4 bonus trips. Royals loyalty program.
Yes, to make diamond level in Royal Caribbean's loyality program, which is called the Crown and Anchor society, you have to have 80 days of cruising. Once you get that, you make diamond and then you have access to the lounge. Other than that, it's like any other airline loyalty program you get perks for the more you cruise.
how did you get the hard liquor onboard
We are able to bring wine back on board to our state room. The hard liquor they hold for us and give to us at a later time.

At this point, I’d be sick of eating the ship food. You got a *long* way to go.
These ships main dining room is on a 28-day rotation plus the chef does a off menu special every night. Frankly we don't have a 28-day menu rotation at home. So it's a lot more variety than we would normally eat even at home, then there's always the buffet as well that rotates constantly. Lots and lots of choices. In fact too many😁

No, this is our first. In fact, the longest cruise we’ve been on before. This was only seven days.
