- Today we tour Rio de Janeiro Brazil! Not only do we get to tour our second wonder of the world, Christ the Redeemer, but we also got to attend Mass at the chapel at Christ the Redeemer. After an amazing Brazilian Churrascaria lunch we celebrated the new year's eve at Copacabana Beach watching the fireworks! This was truly an incredible day! Hope you enjoy touring along with us!

I have been watching your around the world cruise. My husband & I had taken many lengthy cruises Ocean & River, but had postponed his desire for a world cruise. I regret that we did not do a full one. He passed away 2 years ago & I have many memories of our extensive travels. Life passes too quickly. Enjoy this wonderful adventure together ! It was a wonderful experience just watching your Rio experience. The Christ The Redeemer trip would have been stressful ordinarily because of the crowds. But, realizing that you are there for a spiritual event, lessens any negativity.

When I visited the Christ the Redeemer in 1986 you had to climb the stairs. It was the only way up and down back then.
Oh my goodness that would’ve been a lot of stairs. It would take a good portion of the day to climb that many. 😀 so glad we didn’t have to climb that many.

I just found your channel yesterday and I am watching one video after another. I have a suggestion - Do a Q&A. Is there a dentist on board for cleaning, fillings? How are you managing your house (shovelling snow, grass, bills, post, etc.,) cellphone, prescriptions, cash for ports, etc etc., are the wold cruises people separate from the rest for meals with reserved tables? Congratulations on living the dream🎉
We are planning to do a UA-cam live fairly soon to answer lots of questions. But here you go, there is a dentist on board. We have our house bills set up electronically and we have a house sitter living in our home. I did a video on how I handled my prescriptions. And they do not separate world cruise passengers from the others at meal times. 😉

I hope mass wasn’t a monologue of damnation and was actually something inspiring but if it was in Portuguese it probably sounded lovely no matter what was actually being said 😂 Enjoying your vlogs, I am hoping to do back to back cruises one day as I think I would enjoy the variety of food and ships more than being on one ship for whole 9 yards so I will be watching with great interest how you find that over the rest of your journey and whether it is more cost effective sailing on one ship as opposed to several ships ❤

We have not done a video on travel insurance as we’re not insurance agents. We recommend getting it but don’t want to lead anyone astray. Everyone has different insurance needs. The insurance for this trip for the two of us was right at $8000.

That’s a good question. Honestly, we just kind of knew as it seems like every cruise. We are on they have formal white nights and 70s nights.
Question on your tour to Christ the Redeemer you stayed for the Mass - how did that work with catching back up to the tour?
We had to leave at the very end of the homily, because our tour guide told us to meet at a specific place at a specific time. Wish we could have had communion, but we had to get back to the group.
I assume you are both healthy, have you taken any days to rest?
We rest on our sea days.
