Hey Youthman- I seen you’ve been a fan of JTR speakers. Well he lives just a hour from me and he had set my system up with the Noesis 210rt speakers for my mains and a custom center channel with the same 10” woofers as my mains. So I got Seaton Sound HP+ and HP- both subwoofers with the dual opposing 15” subwoofers. Now my room is like 20x18 and my components are in the custom theater cabinet that has the bb. Now before his mains were in I had my Klipsch klf 20’s which I liked better. It had tighter bass and the scenes in The Matrix where Neo and that girl with dark hair had machine guns firing with a fantastic bass line that sounded like I had one of my two Seaton Sound HP+ HP- on which I still have but not used the system as I had said for awhile. So I will need a new preamp in this room and I had Acurus Act 3 way back in 2000. Now I still have the Acurus a200 (200x2) amp and their 125x5 amp. I had switched them out with Krell 2009 s275 amps which are 275x2 which I had hooked up to the klipsch for a bit until my JTR 210rt’s came in. Now hopefully once someone checks out my power protector and line conditioner I hope all components will turn back on. Would the Acurus a200 be enough power for JTR 210rt speakers? I may have my Klipsch klf 20’s to switch back. Now the subs haven’t sounded that good the way they were placed that could be set back up. I wonder if the Klipsch 502 II surround would be good enough or I am wondering about getting 2 pairs, so depending what your thoughts are.
may I ask, with this setup, it is thus not possible to watch Apple TV with just the TV speakers, is that correct? you have to turn on the amplifier every time? or is there a diff way to setup if you want to also have the option to only use the TV?
I just received the X4800H and have a couple of issues with it. First, the subwoofer setup in Audyssey does not work. The on screen setup tells you to turn up the subwoofer to 75db but it stays at 30db on screen no matter how high the volume is in the subwoofer. Secondly. I get frequent audio drops that are only a split second while watching TV on the ARC. I will return it if Denon doesn’t have a fix. BTW, it is running the latest firmware.
Do you need a smart tv for this set up? I have this basic 2 speaker set up with a Denton reciever and a Samsung tv that’s not a smart tv and I can’t get it to connect, not sure what I’m doing wrong, I am only using 1 HDMI cable, not understanding what your second one is for?
Wish to upgrade my Polk Tsi 100 (using as surrounds) . Which would be a good surround upgrade? Ordered a new Denon AVC x4800 and the upgrades should be compatible with the receiver. Btw my fronts are Polk reserve R600 !
On the specs sheet the receivers seems it does not support QMS, do you know if it will be available later on through firmware update? I have the new Apple TV that supports that but not shore if it will be useless if I plugged in through the receiver
To this day, I am still confuse on how to setup this denon with my shield. It keeps turning on zone 3 for a reason, trouble with cec as well, still working on it since 2 weeks now

Since it only powers, nine speakers, you would need a two channel amplifier to power the other two
