The Atheist Experience # 754 Clip.
Hosted by Matt Dillahunty & Don Baker.
March 25, 2012
This Creatard caller is a bit behind the times when it comes to current theistic arguments, but the inevitable Dillahunty beat down is just as sweet. Kevin starts his argument by stating Biblical prophecy is proof of God's existence. Matt bats that aside with no mental effort, but poor Kevin just doesn't know when to quit. Kevin then reveals his true identity as Super Creatard. With cape blowing in the wind, he lays out his best arguments for Biblical creation. One major problem, his arguments are in serious need of an update. You can see the gleam in Matt's eye as he opens with a devastating logic attack, followed by an in your face dose of rational thinking. To add insult to injury Matt uses the Answers in Genesis website to refute one of Kevin's arguments. LMAO! Not a good day for Creatards. Enjoy the carnage.

This caller is the type of person who will waste other peoples' time his entire life.
don baker is the best. anytime anyone says anything ridiculous he laughs the laughter of awesomeness.
Dan is the Ed McMann to Matt's Johnny Carson.
Nedy Ovalles Yeah I love Don. Seems like a real nice guy.
You know you fucked up when Don belly laughs at you.
I thought so too, but keep watching, you'll notice he's NEVER first to answer a question he laughs at, he ALWAYS just laughs this pedantic, forced, fake laugh while he waits for his co-host (whichever one) to first offer a position or argument, like he needs to be "pointed in the right direction" or help articulating his thoughts from Matt.
To put it another way, theres a reason why people are "celebrating" his snarky, condescending laugh and not some insightful comment or statement he made....
@@PeteUnsigned well using your own reasoning. . . You suck.
Can't a guy just find it funny when people say obviously dumb shit.
It's not his job to be the attack dog, his job was to point out failures.
Apologies from Canada for this guy. At least he's polite.
mechanoid2k much perfer a polite theist over a rude one.
Joseph Marton so you just post your gay comment everywhere?
Joseph Marton I think you are secretly gay. Just my opinion. And the prime minister's.
It's ok, sometimes the lock to the cage is left open on accident. Happens to the best of us. At least he wasn't one of the rude speciments.
*LOL*
As an Atheist for over 45 years and Biology educator; I am shocked at the ignorance of this chap. Religion is such deluded nonsense.
As a human who lives on this planet, I can't believe his ignorance either. While I don't mind religion as a personal belief (for those that find comfort in it, or whatever), it really can't be used to deny valid scientific research, that is absurd. To think that the bible is proof of anything other than someones ability to write is stupid. The book wouldn't even pass as a good work of fiction, since it can't even keep it's own story straight (that's what happens when you have so many authors I guess). Damn I find fundamentalists frustrating. /rant
As someone who has had to FIGHT FOR HIS LIFE from a life-threatening car accident in 1984, I can EASILY say that this concept known as “religion” is tlotal, 100% BULLSHIT.
I have BEEN THERE, and DONE THAT in the mid-late 90’s.
BY MY FUCKING SELF.
NO ONE, or NOTHING had ANY-FUCKING-THING ELSE to do with it OTHER than MYSELF!
(Forgive the CAPITALIZATIONS, it’s just my enthuiasm kicking in.)
I have turned to Satanism for this, as they worship the “self.”
If it’’s “wrong” by anyone else’s standards, DOESN’T MATTER TO ME.
I don’t “CLAIM” to be “right,” by any means-it only matters to ME.
Which ic is how religion SHOULD be.
So there.
*Hmph.*
GodPunk88 "evolutionists"? There is no such thing. "lake of fire"? Also no such thing (how can fire which is not a liquid form a lake?). Go back to troll school and try again, lol.
Almighty Shippo Show me the transitional form from fire to lake. Can't do it? Thought so!
Euph lolz. I once had evidence of a transitional form of ham turning into a ham sandwich, but I accidentally ate the evidence.
You have to admit, this is a very friendly christian calling in. Then again, he is Canadian.
Canada - 1
Christianity - 0
rockthestrand Stupidty comes in all forms, from very nice to very nasty.
Ha! Still, Canadians should be smarter. Why? Because they're not Americans. Hell, the average Zimbabwean is smarter than the average American.
What an embarrassment to the wonderful country of Canada.
Christianity hath no boundaries, and there are no bounds to Christian ignorance.
Kevin, Canada is one of my favorite places to visit, please stop talking.
awwww
I know! It’s embarrassing! I hope Kevin was educated somewhere else because that would be a black mark on our educational system. We have our share of “homeschooled Christian” families here. This produces kids who have a crappy understanding of the world. Maybe Kevin was one of these.
Wow. Really. Just wow. The ignorance of humans never ceases to amaze me.
: (
I'm embarrassed as a Canadian
don't be you're a canadian right?
Robin Cunanan
Yeah...and so was the caller. :(
yeah.. being a canadian and being nice even though there's people like these is a thing to be proud of. as for me i'm just going to be annoyed here in the corner
Robin Cunanan
There is so much to be ashamed of as a Canadian these days. Especially our Prime Minister and all the controversial actions he is taking to make our country seem more and more American-lite. (sad face with a single tear)
dont be embarrassed as a Canadian, be embarrassed as a human being
When religion comes through the door intellect and reasoning leaves.
I'm constantly amazed when people describe Wars, death, and destruction,as miracles.
I’ve never seen Matt so calm with such a steam of nonsense and denial! Cheers to him, this was so fun to watch!
I really had fun watching this one ^^ Matt actually stayed quite friendly most of the time. kudos to him.
I disagree. Sometimes I wonder why I still watch him. The laughter and arrogance is so annoying. Sure we feel we are right because we have science. But the guy on the phone was so much more polite until the two of them started to get him worked up. And if you can’t see how impatient and rude he gets then somethings wrong. And in the end even he admits that there is insufficient evidence to prove a god. So it’s not conclusive. The problem is that religion is so easy to prove fallacious that I think he enjoys arguing with these guys and laughing in their faces. And some of these callers are just as arrogant with their positions. Why can’t we start with respect and just debate as we see him do with scholars? The callers are clearly at a disadvantage because they haven’t studied. Perhaps they should. But standing on a mountain and laughing at lay people is just immature and only serves to fire up his followers not convince the pious. And I guess he’s gotten to me too.
Levi Johnson what matters is the state of the present... you can still go to prison in Texas for having cannabis on you! Eh sounds oppressive.
If he was a fake caller he's the funniest, most clever, and intelligent fake caller ever
Fortunately, most Canadians are not like this.
Creation scientist is an oxymoron.
why?

Jaffa Oranges from Israel were developed by Arab farmers in the mid-19th century
that guys racism was off the charts, he literally called pre-colonization palestine a "wasteland" while it was everything but.
@18:45 *_"The irony is really thick right there"_*
This cracked me up :D
The Nile has never gone dry.
As a Canadian, I'm ashamed.
Joseph Marton hey look a homophobic troll. Didn't your kind go extinct last decade?
First of all, he's not gay. He just happens to be pretty good-looking according to most people. But why should Canadians be "ashamed" if he was gay? Seems to me that YOU should be ashamed for being an ignorant homophobe
A bit of education for you, Joseph: The suffix "phobic" means "irrational fear." Do you understand that? Irrational? So let me be the first to congratulate you! You've accurately described something: Your own irrational idiocy.
The caller is a troll. He calls under different names, saying different things, sometimes trying to disguise his voice. He was eventually exposed by Matt, and the troll admitted to being a repeated troll. He also goes by another name from the Stone Church in Austin, TX.
Trekkie Junk I smell that Bulls hit also!!!!
Moon dust?!? Is that his evidence?
This dude is utterly frightening.
The caller is a nice guy, but he's incredibly ignorant and this gives him huge holes to fill with nonsense that matches his indoctrination. The moon dust thing is a perfect example. But more simple than that is his early statement that sedimentation means water deposition. That's true, but not all. I would point anyone to the red rock area of Utah where they can see wind blown sand deposition - called sandstone - multiple stories tall, with structures we can see today, around the world.
Brenda Rua
Really? I thought he was a prick.
How was he a prick? The entire call he was polite and listened. Are you one of those atheist that just wants to call all Christians pricks just because there Christians?
He's a troll caller anyway. He used to call under different names and locations until Matt finally recognized his voice and called him out on it. The troll admitted it, and to my knowledge, has stopped calling.
Brenda Rua
how did Job know about the fountains of the deep?
@Trekkie Junk Nope I think he has called back recently maybe using a voice changer of some sort.
A subtext of the caller's narrative is that his God is a tribal god to this day (not just in the Old Testament, where that's clear.) It's a god with a "chosen people", enemy tribes, and so forth. And he's perfectly fine with that.
jsfec only the Jews are the chosen people,so why do non Jews worry about the bible. Thatonly concerns the jews, and the messiah pertains only to the jews, what the he'll do non Jews give a shit about the Jewish Messiah and their bible jerusalem and all of that rot?
Caller: The moondust shows us evidence that the universe is only 10,000 years old. 12:14
Don: Why do you think there would be so much dust there?
Caller: Oh because of MILLIONS of years accumulated dust... 13:33
...wait what?! Ahh, creationists and their brain...
Daniel to be fair the caller mentioned the millions of years in the context of a meters thick dust prediction.
I predict the sun will set and rise again tomorrow.
Good observation you fucking IDIOT.
+GodPunk88 I predict that someone will reply to you...WAIT I DID IT! Wheres my money!
GodPunk88 And booga-booga to you too.
All of the biblical miracles will at last disappear with the progress of the understanding of nature.
HHvis, tonight's forecast, Dark, with widely scattered light in the morning.
I believe in god because the Bible exists. Also the same reason I know there is a magic school bus somewhere. My favorite is when Matt gets someone to say that the reason they believe is faith, then gets them to understand that faith is an unreliable path to the truth.. then... they just continue fighting. Throw the white flag at that point you have nothing lol. It really is a poison of the mind that restricts people from listening to actual reason.
I am Canadian and now I am ashamed
I think the guy may have been a prank. But at one point the caller does seem genuinely irritated in argument so maybe not.
But its not just Canada, its the entire human race that have batshit nutty people.
jmitterii2
true.
I love when don laughs at caller comments. What a hearty chuckle.
Prediction:Gandalf the grey will become Gandalf the white after killing a Balrog...
There is video evidence for that
The biggest failed prophesy of the bible is in Luke 21:32 where the character Jesus says he will return before those who are there listening to him all die. Duh. He didn't fulfill that one and for anyone to think it is still to come is nuts.

Amazing that the caller keeps repeating there's many other proofs after each of his previous "proofs" were debunked.
Oh dear...claiming the sun won't eventually die off...and saying the claim it will is from "evolution-scientists"? The stupid. It hurts.
So basically this guy is a conspiracy theorist.
As an atheist, let me say: I don't think we, as a group, should use such terms as "Creatard" since it's such an insulting sounding word. That's a quick way to ensure that someone will not want to listen to what you have to say. We should concentrate on effectively and professionally conveying our arguments and presenting our evidence in support thereof rather than resort to name calling. We're better than that. That being said, it's astonishing how ignorant and stupid some people can be (on both sides of this issue)
***** I was in a similar boat. I grew up in a very Christian home and when I started questioning my beliefs, I began to realize how enslaved I truly was. I used to be quite bitter towards the religious, still am to some degree since it's the leading cause of scientific illiteracy, and it's surely hard to remain on the high road at all times especially when a lot of their arguments become ad hominem attacks rather than defense for their views. At any rate, I've watched many many of your clips and they're all fantastic, you do a wonderful job at picking out some very interesting topics.
Jerrod Messick this is way to well said to be on UA-cam
Thanks for being an outlier in UA-cam
Chem Test I try to maintain that knowledge is useless if you are incapable of communicating it haha
***** I understand the frustration, the disrespect certainly goes both ways in these sorts of arguments, I just wish people would grow up and treat each other with respect no matter your race, beliefs, gender, sexual orientation etc. The world would be so much better if we would all abide by live and let live.
Also, don't apologize for your English, it's much better than a lot of the native speakers.
But it's true though. To believe in creation is just retaarded. The amount of evidence you would need to ignore is so vast that there a serious chance of mental disability.
Two different schools of thought: 1) I already believe in a supernatural cause of existence, maybe a deity 2)I am unsure about where we all come from, I want to explore this.
Which sounds more rational?
Those aren't "schools" of thought. Those are two positions: affirmative and skepticism. Neither one is rational.
+4ID Hero
Why is skepticism irrational?
Dude, rocks are not organized by their density in strata. In fact, the Grand Canyon shows layers of limestone near the surface, several layers above the much less dense sandstone. We also find shale layers above Pre-Cambrian sandstone, so the idea that these layers are formed by "shaking up" sediments is a joke.
Up to eleven on the Bullshitometer.
we went to the moon and google moon proves it the lander path matches crater for crater
The Bullshitometer goes up to 23.64, really
Looking back, this caller was an AMAZING poe/troll. And this was 9 years ago? This guy was way ahead of his time. A genius by any measure.
Dude gives Canada a bad name! yikes!
Hard to believe that, i spite of the availability of information available in the world today, there are still people as ignorant as you. Astounding.
Oh, I get it now: you're trying to be funny.
Well, here's something to think about, Joseph. A general rule of thumb when posting is to either contribute meaningfully to a conversation, or to employ sarcasm, absurdity or some other comic device to try and bring some amusement to the discussion. You're definitely working the latter thing there, Joseph. Only problem is, your comments aren't that clever and you're not that funny.
Don Baker is just great how he just busts up laughing at this clown who just keeps presenting 1 ridiculous claim more ridiculous than the last for 20:00.
Every time someone explains good with miracles, and bad with punishments, I feel like I've gone back in time.
It never ceases to amaze me how ignorant and deluded these callers are; yet so young; that is the real frightening aspect. As an Atheist for over 45 years it boggles the mind that a few people actually believe this Biblical, Christian mythology Yet this is merely a representation of all religions; total delusional nonsense.
"The irony is really thick right now..."
my favorite thing : a christian calling another christian a wacko for their beliefs
Good grief that caller was dense, but strangely likable.
Doge! I love you!
probably because he is canadian
It's that damn Canadian thing :-)

+Doge Ignorance is forgivable if people don't act like assholes. This kid was told a certain story and how should he know better. But I think there's a good chance that this kid will change its mind.
*Canadians should be smarter than this...*
You can’t fault Kevin’s enthusiasm 😂
Jews had been making their Aliyah to Palestine years before the war of 1948 and before the Balfour declaration in 1926. So the time between the actual proclamation that the state of Israel should be restored and the time of its occurrence was not a single day or even a single year. The war itself lasted more than a day as well. There were Palestinian farmers who were growing crops before 1948 and selling them to market so it wasn't "desolate". The increase in productivity of agriculture in Israel was not a miracle of god, but was the result of a bunch of educated European Jews moving to a country and using their intellect and knowledge to help production and growth within the country. If it was a real prophecy of god, maybe he should have mentioned the constant threat to their survival which is evident by the war of 56, 67, 73 etc. The didn't gain the whole of Jerusalem until after the war in '67 so this caller doesn't even have his facts straight.
Some prophecies may be a wishlist for some people to work for. Prophecies cannot just fulfill themselves, there are NO miracles AT ALL. Whenever there was some kind of prophecy pf a messiah or a king there was no miracle behind it, individuals simply were made to be that person for the people.
I'm ashamed of the failure of our educational system. As a fellow Canadian I'm totally floored.
18:45 u can't make this stuff up!
who else came here to witness a logic bomb?
I love it when people laugh in the background when something is so hilarious.
All prophesies are self fulfilling and all predictions come true eventually!
The Messiah is supposed to be of the House of David. Joseph was of the House of David but the Holy Spirit wasn't of the house of David.
"BUY A BETTER GLOBE!!!" Was I the only one who nearly asphyxiated from laughing so hard when he said that? ROFL!
1:20 - Isaiah 66:8 - the actual text presents that as a question, not as "a nation shall be born in a day." So, instant fail on that one :)
Yeah it's basically saying Rome wasn't formed in a day.
Well, if it's a like a birth... even if it's those "pop right out" ones, that doesn't differentiate between all nations
But Germany didn't even reach Israel. What the hell are he talking about?
"I disagree with that, too" HAHA I lost it. Ridiculous.

At 0:45, Matt gives a nod to the audience saying "Oh boy. I got this. Here we go."
I’m pretty sure you’re incorrect.
I used to be a Christian, and when I started losing my faith, I prayed for god to help me, to maybe give me some sign that he existed. For years, I got nothing. I'm glad I finally let go of my faith. It was holding me back, and I'm a better person now.
If during that time I had died, and had experienced heaven or hell, then was brought back, then I'd probably believe. That's pretty solid evidence. If there is a god, why would he give you proof, but not me, or so many others who have asked?
it is amazing that people take so much on just face value. i can be cheated by a good lie, but this guy is just believing the worst stuff ever.
I know people personally who make these kinds of arguments. They label any science that contradicts Christianity to be "evolution." The Big Bang, carbon dating, calculating the movement of the Sun, natural selection, etc. It amazes me every time, but I'm glad someone made the same argument on this show. It makes my own debate with these people less painful somehow.
You sound like such a genuine and kind, caring person.
~ I love Canada, and this archived video has not affected that, in spite of the theist from there. Thank you, Matt and Don, for interesting truths and reason. Cheers, DAVEDJ ~
I’m like 99% sure that he was a poe. Lol.
They grow really nice oranges because they steal everyone elses water.
John W Funny...shame on you. So dam true
This episode was originally posted in March 2012. And Don is still laughing.
Sometimes you just have to shake your head, massage your ears and hope that the cloud of whackos disperses and fades out.
I know this is a rather old video, but I'd highly recommend changing the title. Matt D. himself has stated many times that he does not approve of the use of words like "Creatard", as they are merely antagonistic and do not further any discussion. Additionally, he has also threatened to simply hang up on people and end their call for using the r-word itself, so you may want to think on that.....
16:50 this is what I find the best/funniest part of all the videos I have seen so far. "I disagree with THAT too" full power ignorance shield on.
You can play with the word "generation" all you want but it is abundantly clear that when the words were translated from the Greek that it was not ambiguous and meant the lifetime of those standing before him. You are the one taking it out of context and are "apologizing" for the blatant failure of the prophesy. We wouldn't need apologetics except for the failures and massive errors.
As soon as he said Kent Hovind i knew i was in for a brain numbing ride.
this verse is written in a parable.
one must include it all:
Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;
30 When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.
31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.
32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.
33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

Thanks to everyone for all their shared thoughts & comments !
i like this caller taking his advice on certain points where most would just get mad like hell.
For about 15 years, the city of Tyre was under siege from King Nebuchadnezzar. The prophet Ezekiel, evidently writing while this was happening, predicted Tyre's sack and total ruin by Nebuchadnezzar. However, his siege ended in 573 BC with a negotiated settlement. He never did destroy the city, and so Ezekiel's prophecy did not occur. Ezekiel gets one thing right: Tyre wasn't rebuilt after the siege - because it wasn't destroyed. Ezekiel 26:7-14
"How do you know that's what Isaiah was talking about?"
Right on, Matt.
Exactly. I've twisted those scriptures to fit my opinion of you, the same way you twist those scriptures to fit your beliefs despite flagrant logical contradictions. I picked and chosen bits, here and there, and interpreted them to fit a distorted view of reality, the same way you do.
(Harry Potter 3:2) Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light. (Harry Potter 3:6) In dreams, we enter a world that's entirely our own.
But if you can't find it...
1) Only certain sections of Josephus are believed to be interpolations (for which there is no manuscript evidence by the way), but the parts in reference to the crucifixion are definitely not interpolated.
2) The question is: What event best explains ALL the historical facts? The empty tomb is one of the historical facts. Counter explanations suffer from weak explanatory power and/or scope.
