Exactly. GTA V never had achieved the atmosphere and feeling like GTA IV did, but it wasn't supposed to have this anyway, I guess. I liked GTA IVs story much better since you really feel like you are just a little fish in a big city. In GTA San Andreas you felt like a true "gangster", while GTA V is just "over the top" in my opinion. Don't even get me started on GTA V's multiplayer, it turned into a Saints Row rather than a GTA.

I remember when I first got GTA 4. My parents got me it for my birthday. What I remember though, was when I had school the day after. I woke up extra early that day to play it for a while before school. All day I couldn’t wait to get home and play more. I rushed back home that day and immediately went on to play. Good times.

9:40 I’ve seen that mailman in game checking mailboxes in middle park. It’s very rare to see him tho. I tried finding him again when I was recording my GTA IV 10 Years Later video. He definitely spawns in the regular game.
I remember seeing him too. Me and my friend made a competition to see who could find him first. I won every time because I knew where he spawned.

9:30 The mailman is actually in the game but absurdly rare. So rare that many gamers/UA-camrs have spent countless hours looking for him and only a couple have ever captured video evidence of his existence. It's the actual ingame mailman with full routine as well - not a mod.

About 2 weeks ago while playing I randomly shot a couple of dudes on the sidewalk, and one of them caught my attention a couple of seconds later, he was the mailman. He just HAD to pass by right when I decided to randomly shoot up peds, which I practically never do lmao
Well i was wandering around the city, start making a trouble till 6 stars, then i accidentally ram my car to a building, and i found the mailmanright next to my drstroyed car, and he run away

GTA 4 had the best story in my opinion, and I liked Niko, but I think they could of delved deeper in his backstory.

Gta 5 is really good too but it does not feel like IV it is more cartoony and more colorful and less unrealistic. Gta IV has a dark and gritty feeling whilst gta V has a colorful and active feeling. Both games are good in their own way

My voice is in this game somewhere! I was working as a hair washer in NYC in the lower east side in 2007 and one of our clients was the casting director for Rockstar. She asked me if I'd like to be in the game and I was like, "uhhh, yeah!" The character that I ended up speaking for was called a "vain gym bunny." The script was divided in two sides- the left were actions the player could do to me and the right side were my vocal reactions. Really cool experience! And I love this game. Anyone know if there's a gym somewhere in the game or if you think you've run into my character?

Unfortunately there are no gyms in the game. You don't need to progress in the game, you can find these "Gym Guy" pedestrians jogging and practicing Tai Chi in Middle Park (Central Park) or Outlook Park (Brooklyn's Prospect Park). They usually wear black and yellow tracksuits.
I remember when GTA IV came out: It was an amazing game; and when I look at it again now, it still is.

GTA IV was my first experience with the series and it holds a special place in my heart. The unique style, expansive world, and intriguing story and lore offered a great experience like no other.
GTA IV has a better story than GTA V, in my opinion. The city felt more alive, with indoor buildings and interaction with pedestrians.
There were many details such as picking things on the streets and throwing on others, buying hotdogs from stands to recover your health, etc.. The subway made sense.
Man, one time I called the cops and they (not knowing) helped me getting rid of some enemies. Calling a number to identify who is the target..
And, again, the story.. A more charismatic character who you could feel sorry for and all.. Not to mention the 2 DLCs that were awesome.. Not this same-thing that you need to do all on GTA Online.
I liked San Andreas and I believe almost every single GTA had its role in the evolution of the series (and I follow it since the first one) but GTA IV holds a very special place in my heart.

The biggest loss in GTA 4 for me was definitely the snow, it's fits perfectly to gta 4 atmosphere, story, niko and anything else, i didn't liked the night time in gta 4 tbh, it's really bland , but a snowing liberty city otherwise would be as cool as a cyberpunk-neon distopia

I'll never forget the excitement of playing this game for the first time on my Xbox 360. I remember being blown away by the graphics and just walking around the street looking at the sparkling metallic paint on the cars
I remember when this game came out ended up missing school the next day. I didn't even lie to my mom, I just told her I wanted to play the new game I got. Coolest thing she ever let me do. All these years later I've bought the game about 3 times now. Im about to launch it up on my PC and re-live those memories! Life is good.

I love GTA IV the most in the series, but God damn, knowing just how much more stuff was planned, but then later scrapped really bums me out. Leave it to Rockstar to come up with amazing ideas to really make a game shine, then throw all of them in the garbage.

Check out tge FiveM mod, much more of a gta 4 feel online, and even has a few servers with the liberty city map ported over (granted it's still a WIP)

I want to add that back before the game was released, I was invited to play an early build of the game, and since I lived nearby, they sent a car to pick me up. I distinctly remember my driver looking a little bit like, but sounding EXACTLY like Niko Bellic, and was wondering if that could've been a coincidence or not. I hadn't thought about it until now when it was mentioned in this video. Now i wonder if it was... 🤔

Some songs were removed because it had lost the contract *something about copyright and that kind of stuff* that rockstar and the "owner" of the songs had dealt with.. and rockstar didn't think that to "extend" the contract will be a good thing .. instead, they replaced those with the new songs...

This game was the biggest shock to my system in my entire life so far, it was my first next gen game and the absolute shock of the graphics and the physics... Its still incredible to play to this day. Ill never forget the first time i saw someone grab on to the door handleof my car and get dynamically dragged with realistic reactions like them trying to run but losing their footing and stumbling ... Just incredible.

Knowing what rockstar has become, it’s unlikely. If they are too cheap to renew licenses for the radio music I doubt they will spend a cent remastering the game

@@no.7893 Is there even a need for it ? It surely aged a lot better than the 3D era games. 12 years later it looks similar enough to 5, especially the cars which are sometimes the same imported straight from 4. On the PS3/X360 versions of 5, some cars even still had a map of Liberty City on their GPS in the interior, which were obviously reworked for the first person mode later on. From San Andreas on, the 3D era graphics sucked big time and that justified a remaster, but that's not the case with 4. Also, the thing is with GTA 5 for example, basically the most up to date version is the PC one, and it will be updated again when the PS5 will come out. The snow actually looked way cooler in gta4 compared to gta5 it really fitted Liberty City compared to Los Santos they should've left it in the final product of gta4.

GTAIV will forever be my all to,e favourite GTA game. It's so rich, and with dark depths. The silenced pistol and flamethrower would have added quite a lot of cool and savage gameplay elements. Heck, they could have even had a stealth mechanic reminiscent of Manhunt where the white icon transitions to a sort of dark blue one 😉
Tow truck would be great. Cops with nightsticks would have been cool, and the unused dialogue with it is wicked funny, the vomit dialogue too 😆 😅😂

This is my favorite GTA for a number of reasons. 1. It was the first in HD and a huge leap in terms of that from San Andreas. 2. It was the first I played when it came out. 3. An engaging storyline that I think is more memorable than 5’s. 4. Funny and interesting characters! Roman is my favorite and I actually like the bowling! 5. Better fighting and shooting mechanics than 5. It seems in 5, you shoot them twice and they die, in 4, it’s more of an effort. 6. Damage when you’re driving, much more detail than 5. 7. Finally a cover system! 8. I felt that your choices actually carried weight in the game and the choice between killing one character or the other was significant. 9. I love the different cutscenes and calls you get if you fail a mission and the calls to Roman after a certain mission for his thoughts on it.
My favorite GTAs in order and why.
1. GTA 4.
2. The Ballad of Gay Tony - A much more colorful version of Liberty City and the nightlife experience.
3. San Andreas - The most customizable GTA to date with your clothes, tattoos, haircuts, eating. It’s basically GTA Tamagotchi simulator tbh.
4. Vice City - Tommy is a funny character at times even though he’s a remorseless psychopath! Probably the best soundtrack in the series with many classic 1980’s hits. Basically a better version of Scarface the game mixed with Miami Vice.
5. The Lost and Damned - I couldn’t get into the biker aspect. Dark, dreary, and plenty of heavy metal didn’t appeal to me.
6. GTA 3 - Good Lord. 1. You hit one curb and you immediately flip upside. 2. Driving mechanics are very wonky. 3. The gangs. If you do missions for the gangs in 3, by the end of the game, 7 out of 9 hate you and will shoot you on sight. 4. Some missions are very difficult. I.e. The coffee mission. 5. The game shows you no mercy, ever. Saving is probably the most important key in any of the GTA games, but in this one, it’s number one! Because the game will try to turn you upside down and fuck you in the ass each time it gets!
The "Unnamed SUV" at 30:39 is actually just an Albany Cavalcade without the badges and a white trim. There is another unknown SUV which is featured in one of the in-game shows (pretty sure its one in the caraways) and it resembles a Mitsubishi Frontera (possibly intended to be the Maibatsu Monstrosity/Monstrociti). The footage that shows the Cavalcade is obviously an early bit of footage due to
1.The Cars having blank number plates, this means that the footage was recorded around the time that they were testing the dynamic plates.
2. The paint jobs look very simple
3. The rims are different on the Cavalcade and the Vapid Stainer Taxi.
4. The Cavalcade looks a bit different in the footage with things such as the door handles being smaller, the trim on the windows looking a bit different with an overall design very similar to that of what its based on (the Cadillac Escalade) (something to note too is that all the vehicles in that footage have a silver trim)

I remember when gta IV was going to be released in stores, I was 13, my mom took a later shift, called me in sick to school and took me to the gamestop in town right when they opened for the day and got me the game.
After a year of hyping it up and looking foward to it for so long, this game will forever have a special place in my heart and I still remember that day vividly almost 17 years later.
Thank you, guys! GTAIV is still the best game of the series for its realism with details and positive story with its "true-man" main character.. Just played it few months ago for a fourth time. Too pity that there will no adequate remaster on ps4 in a Bluepoint studio style, that would be great! GL!

The thing I will remember most about GTA IV was the main character, which was Liberty City. The atmosphere of the city was spot on. It felt dirty and hostile, but it felt like home, which is saying a lot considering I have never been to New York. Just things like the subway system which is just a small thing but it adds so much, and star junction, middle park, then going into the poorer parts of the city like Broker, where gangs run things. And it all came together beautifully in the road layouts, instead of _other_ GTA games, where one outer ring road will take you around the entire map in under 5 minutes...
GTA IV definitely isn't my favourtie GTA game, but it still holds a place in my heart.
The moment i saw V's map, i already the game would be a disappointment. No effort in the character for the city or the game. They just wanted guns/explosions with no reason.

My theory is that the strangers missions took those names(including the I and High mission name), you just don't seem the displayed on screen.

The 'unnamed' SUV looks like the cavalcade, probably only in an early state without any names of it. And the Contender, if youre using an trainer, for example the ZolikaTrainer, you can see the Contender named as the E109.
Still angered at Rockstar for changing almost all of the iconic and lived Russian songs on Vladivostok FM. Didn't even change the radio host voice in between cuts. Lazy.
