Unfortunately didn't happen with gta v, as pewdiepie says, they are evolving, just backwards ,(i know it is "devolving" its just a meme) but yeah, gta v doesn't even have half the details that are in gta iv
I can still almost remember the first few days when I played this game for the first time when it came out. Whenever that introduction mission was over, I remember walking out of the safehouse and being shocked at how great the game looked, and walking into pedestrians and watching them fall to the ground (I was about 12 at the time and thought it was the greatest and funniest thing ever) It was also funny af when you could push pedestrians down a long flight of stairs and watch them roll all the way down in it in the cannonball position lmao. It's always fun to mess with the ragdoll physics in the game!
Same, me and one of my best friends at that time were around 13 - 14 and went to nearly every shop in the inner city (germany) to look for the game. It was sold out everywhere. At last we went to this huge old traditional family owned toy store and saw from a couple meters away the one copy left. We both started to run to get the game and right when we got into a fight about who gets it, a employee comes along with a hand full of copies. Then we had to get someone to buy it for us. The first girl we asked was around 25 who laughed and immediately said yes when she saw the joy in our eyes. We waited outside, got the 2 copies from her went home and were blown away calling each other talking about how insane the game is.
@@trippinmoonjuice6734That’s an awesome story man lol. I’m glad you replied to a post from 2 years ago lol. I was sitting here in my room and got a notification from this video wondering what it could be because I don’t remember commenting on anything here recently because I rarely comment on videos lol. Reading your reply put me in a good mood this afternoon lol, and reading it gave me so much nostalgia because being kids with that much excitement over a amazing game is something we can no longer feel anymore which almost makes me feel sentimental about our childhoods, man the nostalgia is painful! 😂 Thanks for posting
This game is 12 years old, and I've finished it 5 times and played it for hours and hours. But I learn something new about this game everytime I visit youtube. The best gta in details, and the best gta ever after san andreas. Soooooooo much better than gta v. Such an underrated game it was😔😔
@@sajins7444 because GTA V reminded them of SA just because it has so many features. For me, attention to detail and physics is everything so I was a bit disappointed with GTA V. I keep missing Liberty City lol
Yeah but as we can say "people prefer V for some reason", we can also say "people prefer San Andreas for some reason", as this comment mentions. Maybe nostalgia is a big factor in this. SA uses the same engine as III, yeah we all know it has TONS of features that III doesn't have, but in the end, the base was the same. In only 4 years the change from SA to IV was huge. I don't know if any of us could have a objective opinion. Plus, I don't if we can compare a game from 2004 to one from 2008. Both games were amazing, and I loved IV, I think Niko is the best main character of the franchise also.
The funniest thing is that basically any throwable object have the same weight so it doesn't matter if you throw a brick or a cup of coffee at a ped, it's gonna hit them hard regardless
Yeah haha, I noticed that too. The brick is like the standard I guess. Ooh it would be great if a mod fixed that, I wonder if you can change the values of each type of object.
@@kngrc7272 tbh, and this might sound a little weird, but I wished Niko had a smoking addiction lol. I just enjoy smoking in video games, it's badass. There's a smoking mod I used for a while, it was great.
There are more details about the radio and satnav system in cars. Newer cars have voice guidance and you can change that in the settings. About the radio. If you leave the door open, or shatter the windows, music becomes louder and clearer. With doors and windows shut, the music is muffled. Should work similarly with convertibles.
This game was so ahead of it's time... To this day the ragdoll physics used in GTA4 are still more complex and detailed when compared to games nowadays
I only got to play the game a year ago but hey, it's never too late to enjoy something, and needless to say, GTA IV will always have a special place in my heart.
@@wanilimbe That why they should have remade San Andreas map instead of big giant map lack of details with everything closed, bad physics and good just for the online.
09:05 this is actually a glitch that some cops survive crash from a helicopter. Their ragdoll is not initiated at all, notice they're falling in laying position like they're on the ground already so they don't take fall damage. The same can happen with the player or any other pedestrian, it's quite rare though
I hope Rockstar return to these details and physics in the next GTA. Imagine a new Vice City chapter or a San Andreas remade like this with new graphics.
Grand Theft Auto IV is by far the best addition in the series. Not only due to it's fascinating story-line but because of stuff like this! It has always been my absolute favorite and me to this day still watching videos about it and also playing it, while not having played V and GTAO for about almost 2 years at this point, is a true testament of the success of IV, which will continue well off into the future.
About the helicopter thing. I remember me and my friends using the annihilator ans trying so kill our selfs the funniest way possible ( I was like 7). Well turns out I was able to survive the highest drop possible by landing on a pole. I don‘t know how but my older brother (who was like 11 at the time) was impressed too. I really like remembering those times.
I remember playing with my cousin we where also like 10 years old and I jumped out of a helicopter with a parachute and I fell down straight belly flat to the earth and I had 0,001 life left and we laughed so hard. We still laugh about to this day and it happened 10 years ago or somethjng😂😂😂
I really appreciate the fact that you credited Rusty Cage for his music, he'd been having issues with people using his music its nice having someone who gives him credit.
There is an absolutely amazing detail that I want to tell. You can put your own music to the game and listen it through the channels on GTA IV. I've noticed that every car has a different audio system quality. Since I had the ability to test a song that I knew very well how it sounds, I tried it. *Fun Fact* : Open-top cars have less depth to the music and if you are in a tunnel or somewhere small, your open top car actually blasts music out the car and it Eco's.
@@ggtyrin (for PC)just put the radio to "Independence FM" . You'll get a message that you can play your own music in it along with the folder where you have to put your own songs. In my case, it's in documents.
Yeah, I have to say I enjoy GTA4's driving more then GTA5's ... though 4 is allot closer to GTA3, Vice City and San Andreas ... which I loved all three.
I haven't played this game in years. But i remember that if you drive any Emergency service vehicle like a cop car or ambulance pay tolls are free. I dunno if it can be considered a detail :P
I like how when you replay the game just like san andreas you can actually see hints to thee traitors like michelle will ask on your first date if roman has been doing anything criminally suspicious, pretty quickly to just like a narc.
A few times I actually got the heli to come down with the blades and tail and everything. I'd recommend lower Easton alleyway if you want a good shootout, and the park for the helicopters because if they fall into shallow waters they survive and can be kept
Another small detail is that when you drive a car from a certain model it has let's say a high rev limiter, but when you get another car same model, the rev limiter will be different (can be lower or higher) Best examples are the Comet, Infernus i think.
@@30THMAN. Replay value doesn't mean money, it's just how "replayable" something is in general. But this comment is old now, I'd say GTA V is objectively more replayable than GTA IV because it's packed with more features. It's only my own subjective experience that IV is more replayable, I love it.
@@30THMAN. Yeah by logic. But we don't play videogames just on logic, they are experiences that engage us emotionally too. A piece of music may be objectively better than another in its composition, but you won't like it better if it doesn't touch your heart.
Rob, did you know about this one? If you get into a car and briefly pause (say 1-2 seconds) before accelerating, there's no chance that you'll go through the windscreen in a very high speed collision. However, if you immediately accelerate once getting in the car, you will always go through the windscreen in a very high speed collision. It's almost as if there's a hidden seat belt animation with the brief pause. I wish you were able to leave your engine running in GTA V! One of the small details I miss about IV.
there is a glitch to do it in gta 5. get into your car while aiming your gun, and when you get out the engine should still be on. less consistent than gta 4 though
There are quite a lot more details I've run across since I played this game for years. Concerning the rusty beater vehicles: - Tires have noticeably less grip since nobody would put any kind of fresh rubber on a beater car. - Brakes are very weak and the suspension is all beaten up with really bad damping from all the use and abuse and you can feel it in the handling - The catalytic converters and exhausts on them are old and worn and will crackle and pop compared to newer and better maintained cars - Beaters will have a hard time starting up and most likely won't start on first crank But there's also some various nice touches: - Different shoe types make different sounds - Manhole covers make a sound when you drive over them - Tire rolling noise and screech noise is different in the dry and in the wet - Fistfights are incredibly different depending on who you're up against, some regular fat guy on the street will punch slow and won't defend himself, while a strong gangbanger moves fast, hits in flurries of punches and deals more damage It's small things like these that make this the best game in the series and a benchmark for the genre to this day.
"Lemme show you how people react to being smashed in with bricks" *Drills first guy visible in the forehead with brick and watches closely as he goes down* 🤣😅
Been replaying 4, never finished it. Got further than I've ever gotten, love the atmosphere of the game. Just feels alive or something. Did you ever see it with the snow mod? It looks f**king amazing. Granted the rain is also great in 4, I find myself trying to find shelter from the rain If I'm walking about ha.
The heli part reminded me of when I was playing mulitplayer and a police helicopter crash landed for no reason. It's on my 1st GTA IV video on my channel at 1:05
Agreed man, I enjoyed GTA 4 (alot), but the missions were very VERY repetitive. It baffled me how Niko was still behaving like he was poor, doing insane missions for his next sugar daddy just to get paid 10k when he has like 50 times the amount near the end. At the end, I personally enjoyed GTA 5 alot, more than GTA 5 and I think it’s time to lay GTA 5 to rest, it’s lived it’s time.
the little feature of being able to shutdown your car after leaving it gave me so much immersion when i played it as a kid trying to immitate and roleplay reallife when i got bored, its the most memorable feature i remember from GTA IV
Cops can survive a helicopter crash… The odds are against them…. Proceeds to watch some poor schmuck survive an RPG to the helo, jump off the side, drop 100 feet, SURVIVE, get up like the hero he is, only to mow the lawn with an uzi… I dunno how you play, but if that were my game I’d have shot him in the knee and left him. No point killing that guy, either he was gonna die if his injuries or the universe has a ‘final destination’ for him. At that point, it’s nothing but disrespectful to not walk away. I mean the guy cheated death THRICE! Don’t you think he deserves a break?
My PC with Intel graphics 4400,4gb ram,1.7ghz(1.8ghz for gta 4) and no gtx/rtx/amd graphics card was able to play the game and finished it. Had infinite loading screen issue but fixed it
Karthik P Nair Same, I was running on patch 1070, the worst in performance on a shitty laptop with 2GB RAM, Intel Core i3, and Intel HD Graphics and finished the game years ago, both Deal and Revenge ending, now when playing on the same laptop at average 5 FPS with gun sound stutter and pauses, its unplayable and I got to Late Checkout before upgrading. I surprisingly never touched the DLC’S.
GTA IV is still my favourite game of all times,I really hate to see how Rockstar have killed the multiplayer feature and that was the main reason I had to switch to GTA Online.
we play GTA IV multiplayer on PC all the time, I've got videos on it. You can play through GFWL but even better than that is a mod we use called GTA Connected.

John clark the xb1 has it remastered! many many games at that. id consider it! with the new consoles coming soon the current gen is going down in price!
I played this game when I was 13..... ahhhh, so much nostalgia, this game was amazing back then when it came out, I got a copy for my Laptop i got on my 9th birthday (and it runs pretty well with medium graphics) and GTA 4 was my favorite game for a time, still my second favorite GTA game after GTA San Andreas. I love this game.
when you shoot people who are really far away with a sniper rifle, the ragdolls don't load in some times, and you see the old animation from GTA: San Andreas; Much like you see with the fall animation here: 9:30 It looks almost identical when compared to the one in SA
I always loved how variable the helicopter crashes are. Hit the rotor with an RPG and you may not blow the chopper up immediately, but you could knock it off course and cause a crash. I don't know, it's just being able to impact it like that makes it feel more visceral and cool when you take them down. As a kid I remember always trying to snipe the pilots, that training served me well in GTA5 lmao
Fire hydrants aren't triggered by fire they have to be manually turned on so I don't know if it's a detail that you were trying to point out or if you were trying to say that the water works to put out the flames
I actually never had gotten a chance to play GTA IV properly. Never owned it, tried the cracked version of it twice but wasn't worth it cause it was not a good thing to do, plus my system couldn't run it at settings I wanted it to run at. So, I have been playing GTA V, and GTA V Online, for quite a long time on my Xbox One S and now knpwing that it will be re-re-released for the next generation of consoles, I have just have gotten really bored playing GTA V. Rockstar doesn't care about its games anymore, they just want money. Feeling bored, I have now decided to give a shot to GTA IV on Xbox One and I'll soon be getting it. This fantastic video increases my frequency of interest to play GTA IV even more!
Little fun fact, the NOOSE peds surviving the falls is actually a bug, hence why it doens't happen in TBOGT, the game where the majority of GTA 4 and TLAD bugs were fixed.
Good to know, thanks. I was suspicious of it. I think it's, like some bugs, something I'd rather have in the game as it adds a new element to the combat.
@@InternetRob I agree, i think it's a pretty fun bug to mess with, even thought, in real life, that fall would probably give them head traumas or break a neak if they fall onto it like in this video, but yeah, GTA 4 is not 100% realistic, which is what make it fun to play.
Another crazy detail: Unlike GTA V, on GTA IV when you shoot someone they lie on the ground dying until a paramedic comes. But if you finish them off, the paramedic can't save them. Headshots are exceptional in this case for obvious reasons. On GTA V, unless you shoot someone in the head or burn them, they never truly die, they stay on the ground in pain until a paramedic comes.
U can play at 4K in GTA IV eliminating alising effect just turn DSR in Nvidia Panel and pick resolution in game. Looks much better. FPS should stay the same.
This was the first game I played that could do the most realistic burnouts. I used to play it for hours just doing burnouts till I blew the tires. Those were the days. This was a dope game for sure. Thanks for the trip down memory lane 😎👍
@@InternetRob i have some more details for the next video: 1) you can find police snipers when you have five stars in algonquin. 2) cops can run out of ammo wile using the shotgun 3) cops can report a MVA (Motor Vehicle Accident), you just need to crash your vehicle with another vehicle while a cop is present. 4) cops can repor civilian casualties, you just need to kill a civilian when you have a wanted level. I know more details but i can't remember right now. I been playing this game for 2 years and i have seen a lot.
In GTA 5 I missed that feature where you could pick up and throw stuff. Once while playing GTA 4 I stood near a woman who lit up a cigarette, smoked it briefly then just dropped it and started walking away. Being irritated by the wasteful litterbug I picked up the cigarette and threw it at her head. The woman stopped, turned and looked at me then she screamed and ran away. Man that game was so good!
3:50 that feature used to be in GTA Online too. don't know when it was removed though, I only noticed it recently. not sure if it's present in the current patch of GTA5 either.
@@InternetRob maybe my memory might be playing tricks on me, but I swear I used to always turn off my car when I parked up in a parking lot in GTAO lol.
It IS in GTA V and Online, but it's inconsistent how it's supposed to be done, most of the time it automatically shuts off the car, sometimes s/he leaves the car in ignition, I think holding the exit button or tapping the exit button is a better method.
Exhaust smoke starts out white and slowly becomes darker as the engine takes damage. Similarly, a rattling noise from its valvetrain becomes louder and more apparent with damage. When the engine billows white smoke at low but still decent health, it sounds like its radiator is leaking and overheating; at very low health, the engine makes rattling and knocking noises. Also, sports cars that backfire when off the gas have said backfire develop brown smoke with lower engine health.
the nice thing about gta 4 is the details, physics and graphics for a 2008 game, the only thing is, it was made and released from the Brown/Green Game Tint Era thats why it may have brown tint on scenes, green tint(Fallout 3 had green tint, and other games like resident evil and metal gear solid)
In GTA San Andreas we also could extinguish fire with both the fire extinguisher and the fire truck. Rockstar and their details man.. 9:09 That agent be like: I must be a fecking legend, I survived this ! 9:12 Niko: Come on, test me ! test me ! (Or any other of his combat phrases)
I remember one of my greatest moments. It was a mission where you had infiltrate an abandoned house with lots of bad guys. I was supposed to go in through the bottom but I got a helicopter and landed it on the beam across the "roof". At some point a cut scene was supposed to happen when I hit a certain point...the other way. Instead I crashed through the beam not only triggering the cut scene of my dude running away from me but the resulting crash killed many bad guys . Then I got out of the helicopter after it lay mangled on the ground floor. Using it as protection to kill everyone else.
I always loved crashing a helicopter into timesquare and trying to see how crushed i could get a car but still have it be functional. way ahead of its time.
Very professional looking video! Just one thing I would like to be added, is that when you go to the next detail you could add like a number (Detail № 1, Detail № 2, etc.) or something that indicates that this part is now finished. I was a little confused at some parts as I thought one clip was still part of the last detail. Anyway, very enjoyable video though!

Aww you made me blush tihi :3
ik this looks weird but ignore it im just bored XDlol
GTA San Andreas had some pretty neat details too.
Unfortunately didn't happen with gta v, as pewdiepie says, they are evolving, just backwards ,(i know it is "devolving" its just a meme) but yeah, gta v doesn't even have half the details that are in gta iv
GTA San Andreas also had it's fair share of details tho, like being able to extinguish fire too.. both with a firetruck and the fire extinguisher.
Such an underrated game it was😔😔
I know what you mean, the game is insane for stuff like this.
@@browniecinco people prefer gtaV for some reason.
@@browniecinco It's underrated in compare of gta v. People prefer gta v, but I don't. I love gta iv

You should make that mod
You can throw sigarettes too. Lol

There are more details about the radio and satnav system in cars. Newer cars have voice guidance and you can change that in the settings.
About the radio. If you leave the door open, or shatter the windows, music becomes louder and clearer. With doors and windows shut, the music is muffled. Should work similarly with convertibles.
Rare detail: if you hit another car at high speed with a driver on it there's a chance that the driver will die while holding gas pedal or honk
Not rare at all if you don't drive safely
Not rare it’s in every gta

Can't believe why rockstar games didn't make this on gta v
You can’t fit this stuff all on a 60 gb game on the 360’s and a 80GB game on the PS4 and also, it’s an old game unlike Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
@@wanilimbe That why they should have remade San Andreas map instead of big giant map lack of details with everything closed, bad physics and good just for the online.
Different team of developers
Believe or not, they did if you tinker enough.
@@hatsoff4524 so can we talk about fast food restaurants in GTA 5?
Oh wait
There's ones thing you forgot to mention in this video. When you run over someone with a grocery bag, their groceries fall on the ground, separately
It has always been my absolute favorite and me to this day still watching videos about it and also playing it, while not having played V and GTAO for about almost 2 years at this point, is a true testament of the success of IV, which will continue well off into the future.
agreed - also yeah, GTA IV is much more replayable I've noticed too.
@@InternetRob oh absolutely! Keep up the great content mate! Cheers
I swear the detailing on this game was WAY ahead of its time. In fact, so ahead of its time they didn't put 90% of it in Gta 5!
That's a cool memory. The fun we have with these games as children is insane!
Brilliant video my guy, I remember playing this game back in the day and never really notice some of these, epic.
Thank you :)
How can you play your own music?
@@ggtyrin (for PC)just put the radio to "Independence FM" . You'll get a message that you can play your own music in it along with the folder where you have to put your own songs. In my case, it's in documents.
That detail was in SA also. Bikes have no bass, but cars have great bass.
* throws rock at a person *
*Hmmm satisfying...*
this just went on steam sale, been replaying it. my personal favorite gta
Same here man, my fav.
Yeah that's an amazing detail! I forgot about that one, it could possibly make it into a part 3. Thanks a lot.
first time it happend to me i was scared when the toll went up with no - balance😂 great attention to detail on the creators
Personally I think Alderney is the best part of the map, the designers of that area really did their best to make it look like New Jersey
Another small detail is that when you drive a car from a certain model it has let's say a high rev limiter, but when you get another car same model, the rev limiter will be different (can be lower or higher)
Best examples are the Comet, Infernus i think.
Interesting! How can you tell if it's lower or higher, will the rev sound be different enough to notice?
It feels like ages that GTA V came out, yet I never play it, while IV I come back to regularly.
me too man, V has little replay value and I don't understand why.
@@InternetRob the money in IV is useless, what replay value are you talking about
@@30THMAN. Replay value doesn't mean money, it's just how "replayable" something is in general. But this comment is old now, I'd say GTA V is objectively more replayable than GTA IV because it's packed with more features. It's only my own subjective experience that IV is more replayable, I love it.
@@InternetRob So by logic, GTA 5 is more replayable than GTA 4, but you think the oppossite anyway ?
One of the small details I miss about IV.
never knew that!
there is a glitch to do it in gta 5. get into your car while aiming your gun, and when you get out the engine should still be on. less consistent than gta 4 though
When you shoot a rocket underneath a water, the boat directly below the point where the explosion will occur will flip
This video is so underrated. Thank you UA-cam for recommending me this video
That's sweet, thanks for watching it :)
1:58 I could count as a life hack for when your car catches fire
It's a bit of a shitty life hack tbf haha, I don't think it even puts out engine fires, only Molotov fires that have spread onto your car.
and the legend says that he sat there for the rest of his life watching the detailed scene of the helicopter burning
There are quite a lot more details I've run across since I played this game for years. Concerning the rusty beater vehicles:
- Tires have noticeably less grip since nobody would put any kind of fresh rubber on a beater car.
- Brakes are very weak and the suspension is all beaten up with really bad damping from all the use and abuse and you can feel it in the handling
- The catalytic converters and exhausts on them are old and worn and will crackle and pop compared to newer and better maintained cars
- Beaters will have a hard time starting up and most likely won't start on first crank
But there's also some various nice touches:
- Different shoe types make different sounds
- Manhole covers make a sound when you drive over them
- Tire rolling noise and screech noise is different in the dry and in the wet
- Fistfights are incredibly different depending on who you're up against, some regular fat guy on the street will punch slow and won't defend himself, while a strong gangbanger moves fast, hits in flurries of punches and deals more damage
It's small things like these that make this the best game in the series and a benchmark for the genre to this day.
amazing details there, maybe you should make a video like this yourself haha
"Lemme show you how people react to being smashed in with bricks"
*Drills first guy visible in the forehead with brick and watches closely as he goes down* 🤣😅
hahah
Been replaying 4, never finished it. Got further than I've ever gotten, love the atmosphere of the game. Just feels alive or something.
Did you ever see it with the snow mod? It looks f**king amazing. Granted the rain is also great in 4, I find myself trying to find shelter from the rain If I'm walking about ha.
The heli part reminded me of when I was playing mulitplayer and a police helicopter crash landed for no reason. It's on my 1st GTA IV video on my channel at 1:05
This is the Best grand theft auto and you cant say No
@Ratt Pakknahh
that's fair, I like the gloominess myself, the game has this real emotional weight to it.
It is unless we're talking the story, gameplay is a different story, San Andreas kills this game.
the little feature of being able to shutdown your car after leaving it gave me so much immersion when i played it as a kid trying to immitate and roleplay reallife when i got bored, its the most memorable feature i remember from GTA IV
looks like i’m reinstalling gta 4
9:52 "A Helicopter surviving a crash landing like this is uncommon"

The odds are against them….

It had an update on pc quite recently so it's alot better now 😁

I always loved how variable the helicopter crashes are. Hit the rotor with an RPG and you may not blow the chopper up immediately, but you could knock it off course and cause a crash. I don't know, it's just being able to impact it like that makes it feel more visceral and cool when you take them down.

I've been playing since day 1. I didn't think I'd learn anything new. Great vid
Another crazy detail:
Unlike GTA V, on GTA IV when you shoot someone they lie on the ground dying until a paramedic comes.
The background music is great!❤️

In GTA 5 I missed that feature where you could pick up and throw stuff.
Once while playing GTA 4 I stood near a woman who lit up a cigarette, smoked it briefly then just dropped it and started walking away.

That aiming ahead of the helicopter, though. Very satisfying.
Also, sports cars that backfire when off the gas have said backfire develop brown smoke with lower engine health.
the nice thing about gta 4 is the details, physics and graphics for a 2008 game, the only thing is, it was made and released from the Brown/Green Game Tint Era

What did you expect from Rockstar? Even GTA 1 has attention to detail, yes, the first GTA ever had it too.
